    How I could change the primary key to use for joining with internal data storage when I want to move label if I have choosen wrong one?

      Did you get any further with this? I haven't had a chance to look at it yet but I'd love to know if you found a solution!

      you can generate a new primary key as shown in this video th-cam.com/video/hsDe6Qr7Vlg/w-d-xo.html and delete the field which you by mistake chose the wrong one (or copy the field and delete the old one). then when you again try moving the labels, it will ask you for new primary key

      If you don't want to bother generating a new primary key, you can also go into Layer Properties → Auxiliary Storage and then delete the auxiliary layer (Auxiliary Layer → Delete), which should clear the key

    Great tutorial. A question though, how to change the primary key selection?

    • @burdGIS
      @burdGIS  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question Denzel. You can go into the layer's properties and select "auxilliary" storage. Delete the entries there and then move the label again. The opportunity to select the desired primary key will pop up again.

    I use 3.14.15 at the moment. I have previously moved labels manually in the way you describe. However, for no apparent reason, the cross hairs cursor is refusing to react to my labels on my current project. It has asked for a key, which I supplied, but from then on the cursor refuses to select the label I hover over. Any ideas please?

      After searching the web, I found some suggestions, but this one worked:
      Open Layer Properties
      Select LABELS/PLACEMENT
      Look at the Data Defined section to see if Coordinate x and Coordinate Y icons are in RED:
      If so, click on each red icon to see a menu:
      Select "Store data in Project" for both icons:
      They should now both have returned to the normal yellowish colour:
      Now return to the process for normal manual movement of labels, as described in this video and it should now work.

    Q: How can I remove only one label from my map, for example when the name of a river is repeated many times along the line? Thank you!

    • @burdGIS
      @burdGIS  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There should be an option within the label rendering to label a feature only once (or label only one part of a multipart feature)

    Why my move label and diagram button is disabled? Even if I am in editing mode.

    Can you move several labels at the same time?

    • @burdGIS
      @burdGIS  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I think so. So long as they are in the same layer. Try holding down shift or control to select many. Let me know how you get on as I haven't tried this

      Hi Omer and thanks for the comment. If you're looking to move your map try using the editing tools. There you'll be able to move the locations of features.
