This is so cool. I think you got a winner with these. I've always thought you got it right but this is even better. Just wondering it this once programed could run off batteries. And maybe used in G scale any time soon...🎉
Great video, Jim, and delighted to see the upgrades to the N-scale LED board products. A couple of questions: first, for the dual row board, is there a CV setting that selectively turns off one row - as for the “bedroom side” of a 4-4-6 sleeper - while leaving the other row on to light the passageway? Second, some Kato observation cars (20th Century Limited, California Zephyr, Olympian Hiawatha, for example) have some built-in lighting structures at the back that prevent installation of either the 144mm or 124mm products (too long, won’t fit). Is the 106mm product intended to be used in those types of cars, or should the even shorter N-scale caboose board be used? Looking forward to trying these out soon.
We'll put the separate control for right and left side on the wish list. In the installation videos you might see that I remove all that extra "framework" that Kato installs and yes, we use a shorter board but the N-124 will fit - and we put a separate LED in the back observation area - powered by the Mains on the N-124 board.
If you are referring to the LED size, it doesn't really matter as long s the light is sufficient. HOWEVER, in five years we have yet to receive requests from more than one or two people for O Scale lighting.
We're not sure we get this - the whole point is to have the lights go on automatically without any device control. Unfortunately, in five years we've received only 2 requests for O Scale passenger/caboose lighting.
This looks fantastic!! I may have to get a few of these once I put together a passenger car set!
Great!!

thanks for the feedback! We do have some designs for it. However, outside the lights are not visible during the day. And limited interest so far.
Excellent, very interesting and innovative. 👍
Thanks a lot 😊

Do you have an opinion to temporarily override the automatic function?
Yes. You can toggle between DCC mode and Train Sense mode and in DCC mode you can manual control the lights.
O scale would benefit from this and the chips would be bigger, not needing a magnifying lens

Please do this in O scale controlled by a Bluetooth app.

Will you be making these for G Scale passenger cars and cabooses?
