Ferrari is not even аblе to hire a working design team for both exterior and interior (especially multimedia) of their cars LOL. Their multimedia looks like it’s from 2007 and is slower than iPhone 5 (!!!) LOOOOL.
Bit of a lacklustre review tbh. Are road testers becoming so spoilt that given the keys to drive such a wonderful car they can do no more than summon the most basic of enthusiasm for it? Jeez, it's one of the last great V12 Aston's we're ever likely to get - sound a bit more interested!
I think there's lots of undeserved negative commentary here about Matt Saunders. And his glasses - come on 😮 It may not have the buzz of the new generation of influencers, but Matt knows what he is talking about, and I enjoyed the review and his insight. Some other comments: towards the end of the review a car is sometimes visible behind the Aston and looks like the driver is mad for an overtake😂 Also, did anyone else see the arm rest move when Matt rested his elbow on it?

I think there is a factual mistake at the start. This is not the first Vanquish with a transaxle or with the bonded aluminium construction. Even back with the 1st gen the construction techniques were analogous to today's cars. The 1st gen did have the gearbox mated to the engine but the AM310 2nd gen Vanquish, the last of the VH cars did have a transaxle.
While there are reservations about both cars ; Ferrari = styling iffy ( especially the black accents front / rear / those raising spoilers ), the interior too tecky ( not special ). The Aston has far fewer = small boot / trunk , small fonts on screen...and that's all from reading reviews. I'd take the Aston on looks and feel food factor alone.
So Aston made a third sporty GT that looks similar and has a pretty much identical interior with the other two...it's a total mystery why their cars aren't selling well and they're losing $1.8 million every day.
@tracer073 I think that I said it clear enough to understand - they aren't selling enough cars to be profitable, therefore they're losing a lot of money.
I saw Doug DeMuro say that he thought Aston should ditch their Gran Turismo identity and make a mid-engined V8 with a manual transmission. I agree with him. Astons have become too big and lumpy since the DB9.
They have always been lumpy. And as a GT, they're always supposed to be. Making a supercar is a different matter because those are expressedly not GT's. I don't agree with Doug for once, they shouldn't abandon GT's, that's their bread and butter. That said I do think they should make a mid engine supercar, like the Vanquish was gonna be, with another name though.
@LarsAgerbk supercars won't change that, supercars always lose money and depreciation is worse now than it's been in a long time. Aston will never make money because it's a boutique. Most of their money will come from sponsors, donors and brand deals than any single car. Their net losses are still lower now than they have been in a long time, a significant part of that is down to F1 though, so most of the money doesn't go to the company but Yew Tree.
@@LarsAgerbk Ferrari have a successful racing team and history, brand deals, sponsorships recognisable heritage and as such higher brand value. Same with Porsche. Which one of these categories does Aston have in enough abundance to profit off of?

I have always wondered ... who are these automotive journalists talking to in these videos? Literally 99% of their TH-cam viewers will never be able to afford these cars and neither can they themselves. So to me, it seems they are providing a consumer report to the 1% or less who will be able to get one. Not much of a service to the audience watching, I feel. That's why videos about these cars from people who actually own them, and are transparent with their ownership experience are videos to watch because you truly live vicariously through them.
Yes they may not be able to afford a new one, but they may be eyeing up a DBS or an F12 and want to know how the bloodline is progressing, or it’s a ‘what’s next?’ if you’re in a carrera and want a GT…..not sure you’re into these cars ….but lots and lots are! 😊
Problem with Aston is at the end of the day when you look past their beautiful cars, the brand just isn't offering much else. They feel like super pretty but super expensive Mercedes AMG models. Some won't mind (tbh, I don't), but I can see people who are capable of forking out the dollars to buy one of their cars wanting something more bespoke. They also depreciate like hell, which is another disincentive to buy one.
@@HumanButcher150 Yeah, they basically use an AMG engine. I guess you could argue Pagani does too, but their models are very different from anything on the road, though they are in a completely different price bracket from Astons.
819 bhp? How on Earth does the Ferrari even manage to move?
Ferrari makes all those horses...without turbos. I don't think they're bothered about a BHP war.

Good automotive journalism, but nearly 7 minutes in, are you going to DRIVE it? Seriously it has an immense powertrain and apparently.soeted handling.
Please fix the poor audio quality. Every Autocar video sounds muffled and inconsistent. Great video again though, as usual.
