This is evidenced by the fact that whenever police officers report misconduct, they are almost always ostracized by their fellow police officers and reassigned to some dead-end precinct in the middle of nowhere. Accountability in policing in America is not encouraged, it's punished. You remember that story about that cop who manhandled that old lady with dementia and dislocated her arm? If he's an example of a "bad apple" then why is it that just days later security footage surfaced of him reviewing the bodycam footage of this incident back at the station and laughing it up with his fellow officers, bragging about how proud he was for roughing that old lady up, even literally high-fiving another police officer at one point. Do you honestly think this behavior is just a one-off? Do you expect me to believe that shit like this just exists in a vacuum and isn't openly encouraged in police departments across America? I once dated a girl whose cop brother-in-law molested her niece and his fellow officers _still_ defended him and even intimidated her sister over it. All we are asking for, at the bare minimum, is more accountability, yet police departments all over the country are resistant to even that. Hell, in Texas there was one department that nearly lost its mind when the city moved its internal affairs investigation out of the police department and into city hall to avoid any conflicts of interest. I live in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. I took my car into a Car Repair Shop that had been recommended to me by AAA. I had been there 6 months earlier, except the situation of the area had horribly changed. The repair shop was in a Business/Residential area bordering Canoga Park, and Woodland Hills, CA. I looked around and saw a Police Officer removing a car that a person was living in. I saw tents, I saw several cars with people living in them, and as I watched a car went down the Residential Street at around 75 MPH. I decided to go into the Office and wait. While I was waiting the Car Manager had the speakerphone on and was talking to the Police Department. He was saying that his customers were afraid of attacks, and the people around were doing illegal activities. He was asking the Department to please take more of the Cars and Tents off the street. The Police Department told him to wait a minute. They came back on the phone and told him there was nothing more they could do, and told him to write his Congressman, as if that Congressman, a Leftist will do anything!

He did say a couple of things that I agree with. I am a Black American and cannot possibly agree with defunding the police. However we do not need to thank every law enforcement officer in this country because some of them are not good officers. I do think that in general we should support the police, start by supporting the Capitol police officers overwhelmed on Jan 6
I would never say all law enforcement officers were bad, conversely it would be ludicrous to believe they are all good. Leaving this topic I can truthfully say that this is difficult job. I have gone through many scenarios and it is my opinion that I would possibly shot someone. So I admire anyone that can exercise in a these situation.
