    That's one of the reasons why I dislike Instagram. With any post, no matter how positive or negative, there will be a chain of arguments. Everyone tries to one-up the other person, making others feel inferior or small. There is nothing noble or smart about 'being right' or, as you said, 'reciting rote-memory learning,' if the end goal is just to hurt others because they disagree with you. Good on you for not even playing the game.

    Some of these people have grown up on the internet and don't know how to have a rational face-to-face conversation. Since they have never had a real challenge, they feel (falsely) empowered, and are self-appointed experts. They think they have won, but just imagine if they had a public debate with someone like Chaffee? That debate really highlighted a fundamentalist mindset versus someone who knows how to have a rational discussion. Look, virtually everything the "experts" have told us about health over the past 50 years has been show wrong and unscientific. I never argue with the fundie people. It's not worth it. Thanks for what you do, Neah. Great message.

      We had it right in 1900. Then companies and their greed grew and the food went downhill. This was done to create "food" that would last months/years on the shelf. This created the "grocery store" and big profits. Food Science was bought and sold for high profits...

    Been watching you a while but this is my first time commenting. I love how you talk. I watched the video you’re talking about and it’s clear to see which of the 2 guests is getting triggered when they hear something they disagree with. If this was a Twitter conversation Dr Chaffee would have been insulted then blocked.

    Excellent talk! Recent developments in Scotland and Germany indicate restrictions on meat purchases, with universities across Europe promoting a shift towards vegan diets as a response to climate change. It raises questions about the prevailing narrative and potential biases in shaping these decisions.

    When Nagra said that it didn't matter what we are designed for, that was one of the most unscientific things I've heard. Two health maxims rooted in science:1. Eat what we are designed for; 2. We aren't designed to be couch potatoes.

    I saw the debate. That Dr Nagra was repelling. Perhaps because he was viewed in contrast to Dr Chaffee's charme . Btw there is , as I understand, very little hard core science in the nutrition world. By science I mean RCT- the uncorrupted gold standard. Logic can only , again as I see it , be found in carnivore. No meat ,no Inuit . However , keep questioning - even when you agree.

    I used to think that a scientific paper or study was absolute irrefutable truth. Now I've learned that even peer reviewed studies are subject to bias, poor quality and plain old corruption. You still need to apply critical thinking, no matter what the source of information. This was a great reminder of that, thank you Neah.

    Neah, spot on as usual. I also left a long and thought-out comment on Lauren's channel. It really is a shame that it all played out that way. When one does not have a case, they tend to immediately get defensive and Dr. Nagra played that card from start to finish.
    I also agree on the issues with all these social platforms where things just get out of control for no other reason than just continuing to draw negative attention to themselves. I have cut down on using platforms and unless helping moderate or following the few channels whose content I respect and appreciate, and nowhere near my computer or phone!

    Well said! A lot of nutrition research seems to be epidemiology-based, which is only hypothesis-generating at best and never hypothesis-proving because of all the confounding factors. I think Dr Chaffee tried to articulate this at one point during the debate. So, at the end of the day, the most important "study" is your own N=1 nutrition/lifestyle experiment.

    Great video. Just found your channel last night so I’ve been binging it all. This was a very thoughtful response. The carnivore influencers for lack of a better phrase are so calm. They have well thought out responses. Mark Bell had some prominent vegan doc on and was very polite let him just drag carnivores. Well try. And it kind of made me a little mad. I’m like take this dude down but Smelly was cool calm and collected.

    Ive watched a few vegan debate channels and it really irritates me.
    But yesterday i watched Tristan Tate debate a vegan Joey Carbstrong. I suggest everyone who gets triggered to go watch it. I swear to you this will be the last veganism ever triggers you. Tate handles it so well and clearly states animals are below us and prefers a humane way of killing them , but ultimately doesnt care if it isnt humane. And i think that should be the end of this. Go watch it, highly recommended.

  • @fiftiesandfabulous

    I don’t think it’s healthy for you to be pushing your child in a park whilst talking on the internet. There’s a time and a place for that. Invest your time with your child and be in the moment with them!

    • @neahsway
      @neahsway  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Is it also unhealthy in your opinion to talk to a friend on the phone while you're with your child? Have a discussion with your spouse at the park while your kid plays? I take the moments that I can get to talk to my friends here, and trust me, they're much fewer and further between the ones I spend playing with my littles at the park. Plus she was sleeping, which I mentioned....

      @fiftiesandfabulous I think that you missed the point of what I was saying. I'm not saying that people shouldn't be on the internet ever, or that you can't engage with people, or spend time creating content. My point was that this person in particular was spending an extraordinary amount of effort arguing with people when there was no point in doing so. The point was that "living on the internet 24/7" is not healthy. That's different than me taking a few minutes a couple times a week to record a video. But you, of course, are entitled to your opinion too. Take care.
