Are you bailing hay or straw? Whàt you. showed when you got in the field it looked like straw that came out in rows from the combine. You mentioned a farmer had a field of wheat rows straw & Brian asked the farmer & he said you could bale it. You also said you had a field of cut hay laying on the ground. What you put your hand into looked like fresh golden straw. Looked like. the thick wind rows the combine spits out when you had a good yield of wheat. With your good weather & rain this year, I think your neighbor had a great field of wheat. If the hay was so heavy, why not take it with a single side of the rake like you did the other day. Less plugging of the bailer & rack. You cement job looked like a pro laid it Cole you & Farmer Tyler could go by Farmer Mac Guyver. You two can build so many things so easily.

Hi Cole, I think you’re most all-around guy I ever seen between farming and concrete welding and fabricating. But I wanna just tell you one thing so you’ll be perfect. I’m a tool and diemaker machinist for 65 years and that annular tool you’re talking about has a proper name is a an end mill. 😎
Cole, God has blessed you. You are so lucky to be able to do what you love, to be very good at it, and on top of that, to be doing it with your dad. I love watching the two of you working side by side. It reminds me of when my dad was still alive and we worked together like you and Brian do. Cherish every day you get to do that. One thing though.... dude, you have GOT TO shut the engine down when you are pulling hay out of a plugged baler and hay machine. There are electronics involved there. Anything can happen in the electrical system.... One more thing. Brian, what happened to the song of the day? That's a video highlight!
I remember haying in SD. Two sickle mowers pulled off set behind a old truck. The little tool boxes and steel seats burning hot. Two trip rakes side by side and tripped by rope going to the truck cab. Long bucker wooden poles on the front of the truck pushed hay into piles, piles made hay stacks. Hay stacks were cut in half with barbed wire pulled back and forth. Moving hay meant pitch forks. Water was warm in Clorox jugs. No horses were used to pull the implements even though that was what they were designed for. You have it made lads.

Now that is a good thing to have. A lot of hay to bail. I have used one of mag drills at work they sure are handy. That was cute watching the little puppy riding on the 4-wheeler.

Cole it's amazing how much of a fabricator you have become from when I started watching you're videos when I started to farm I had always replied on my dad to help me but he slowly removed himself from helping me and to this day I really appreciate him for that as I have been able to do just about anything that needs to be fixed maybe not lot a professional but it gets the job done

Tiny dog is a good 4-wheeler rider! The best thing I ever did with my mag drill Cole was build a stand for it to act like a drill press. Search it on TH-cam and you'll find all sorts of ideas to build one.
Love these step drills!!! Mag drills are great. I've never used one but I have seen one used some. My son who works in rail road yards uses them all of the time. He has 2.. Looks like this cutting is almost to good, if that can ever be!!

You really need to get yourselves a twin rotor rake, claas rake. It's 2024 and you are still battling with an old finger wheel rake. It's like watching my great grandfather farm.
I love the panoramic drone view of that hayfield with the three of you working on it. That's gonna make some good eatin' for the cattle this winter. Do you ever have a year with so much hay that you can sell some?

Just a FYI. Cutting fluid works better than a lubricant (wd40) when drilling. A lubricant lets the slide instead of biting the material cause wear on bit and shorten the life of it. A coolant also works because your trying to cool the bit and what your drilling.
I heard on the radio a few days ago that southeat South Dakota had the wettest June on record and July was on pace to be the 2nd driest July until the last few days of the month.
Safety tip for the Magdrill: if using horizontally, make SURE you have a safety chain attached to something above it. If you lose power while the magnet is on, it's a'comin down and mighty fast. And they are HEAVY. It will easily break your foot, toe, ankle, whatever it hits. And his is a relatively small unit (that's what she said) the larger ones weigh even more. The drill pulled too much current and tripped the breaker, and down she came. Landed on my steel toe boots, so it just scared me more than anything. I was an idiot so you don't have to be.
I've seen Farmers on TH-cam that mount a barrel in front of their tractor when they have rows that are that big. It will push the roll down so it goes under your tractor with ease and into the Baylor easier.
I know Miss Ellie doesn’t like to ride with you in anything so I think it’s pretty neat ole’ Sonne does. Partner for you and Brian. Maybe he will ride in tractor to.

this year we sluged our 535 john deere baler it was on a caseih tractor but it took us half an houre to get it unpluged have a good day cole.
