Born and raised in snow country. So we are taught how to deal with it and drive in it at a young age. You did very well in your first snow! Proud of you 👍
@christinenovack6048 born in raised in East Central Minnesota. Still here. Missing the snow. We haven't even gotten 3 inches of snow this yr. Compared to amount we're used to. So bummed out.
Brooke, if you take cream and sugar, you can add that into your coffee before you freeze dry it and then you wouldn't have to add anything to it when reconstituted. I looked it up and it is fine to do it that way too! :)
Thank you, Brooke 🥰 You've made a basic instant coffee with your Coghill coffee ☕️ A normal cup/mug would usually take about a teaspoon of coffee granules/powder if you're going to add milk or cream to your cup. You have great ideas for the freeze dryer 🤎 Have a lovely, relaxing day, Brooke 🥰🥰
You can put leftover coffee in brownies and chocolate cake, tiramisu, pot roast, chili and red eye gravy !!! Yum But freeze dried when you have the time and energy sounds like a great use also. Or in the ice cube tray in the freezer for iced coffees and frappuccino’s ☺️
The blue green color on the male peacocks is so pretty 😊❤ You guys are going to have more beautiful birds on the farm with their beautiful feathers spread out. I would love to see all of MaryCarls' pigeons!! I'm glad you will have coffee to take with you guys when you go on your trips.
Brooke you should brew the coffee really really strong then you would only need a smidge of freeze-dried coffee to a cup !!!! 🥰🙏 And you didn't show us how it looked when you took it of the trays ???
I make my last payment in Feb on my Freeze dryer, my daughter travels for her job so I will definitely do,this for her. Thanks for trying and letting us know,❤😊
We live in Indiana and I just don’t leave the house unless I have to from December to March. 😂 Glad you guys made it home safe and got to experience the snow. ❄️
Snow sports are fun! When one grows up playing in the snow, one gets many happy memories playing in the snow. Michigan is a winter wonderland in the winter season. Beautiful!
I live in ky. Right outside Louisville. It doesn't snow like that all winter. Maybe once maybe twice. Today it is 55 degrees. It fluctuates like that in ky. Glad u got to come and see us! Sorry about the cold!
Good Morning Brooke, thank you for your wonderful smile. I’m glad you had a good time with MaryCarl and got to experience a different environment of winter life and that you took on the Challenge like a Champ. The Peacocks are a wonderful family group and yes you can’t tell the babies from the parents. The coffee experiment looks like it provided the perfect outcome, what would happen if you freeze dried just the ground coffee bean grains right out of the bag? 😀👍👍👍
Add that concentrated coffee to brownies or anything chocolate in place of some of the liquid in your baking to bring out the chocolate intensity. so yummy!
Brooke. When my husband and I lived in Costa Rica They freeze-dry the beans and then are dipped in chocolate or Carmel and it’s sold as candy. But you can only eat a few or you would be buzzed all day. Lol
many years ago my son went to the world pee wee hockey tournament in Quebec City. They had snow ports connecting from curbs to the garages for homes because the snow was 10 plus feet on either side of the driveways.
I make a “hamburger gravy” sometimes to serve over rice (or potatoes or noodles). I always add some instant coffee as part of the seasoning; it enriches the flavor and makes it taste like i cooked it for hours like a stew.
Hey Patty...this coastal Alabama gal has never tried that "trick" with the coffee, very cool ! And yes, I too make a "hamburger" gravy that goes greatbon everything, even a big hunk of garlic bread!
I knew that and was thinking Brooke's freeze dried coffee would look just like the crystal type instant coffee but it didn't, so now I'm wondering what they add to make it look like the instant coffee?
I grew up in Indiana, in my day we were taken out to parking lots and taught how to drive in the snow before we actually got our license. We were also taught how to not let snow fall into our car, lol. You did great in your first snow. I loved this video. Jason tickeled the daylights out of me. I love you guys so much. You make my day, Thank you
Here we had a very mild day: -1⁰C (about 30⁰F ) I came out of the grocery store with my coat open. Up here in the North, our blood is thicker than yours so we can deal with the cold. Most of us have a hard time with the heat, though. I spent à couple of Summers in Tennessee when I was young, and I had to stay indoors with the air conditionner on.
I agree. In the South.....If it's that hot out....I would have to stay indoors all summer. Unless you are swimming at a lake.... there is No point of going outside in Temp's over 80 degrees. I find it hard to .....breathe in high temperatures. I melt. And This lady does Not like to sweat that much! > I can't even Garden unless it's under 70-75 degrees. I think it was the Cold Temperature... (+ it was Windy that day) NOT the .....'little bit of snow' that fell, that Brooke disliked. Haha.

I’ve always wanted a peacock 🦚 and when we were kids we would go on field trips and were able to buy peacock feathers for $1.00 later my brother worked at the Zoo as security guard and the peacocks scared him with the loud noises they made at night when he was driving through the zoo. It was a drive through only called Lion County Safari in Irvine California. Good times
I think that the coffee powder would be amazing added to a buttercream or a pudding or batter... or even a cocktail! *I'm a baker, and an all-around foodie, so that's where my mind goes❤
@@ja_Iam oh yeah I do all kinds of things with it. It definitely intensifies the taste of any chocolate dessert! I regularly sneak just a touch in those!! 😁
Thank you for showing us the peacocks I was just thinking about them and wondering how they were doing. Mary Carl's pigeons are beautiful. You were funny about the snow, I guess living with it my entire life we don't know any difference.
Funny thing Brooke us folks up north who have snow for months out of the year can't imagine what it would be like to have a summer with consistent temperatures over 100F. I'll take having to add layers of clothing than to sweat to death for months on end. Guess we are used to what we are used to and can't imagine other areas temperatures.
While your talking Peacocks 🦚 one of the Men in Black went waddling by, and I love those ducks. I am not sure what kind they are but I love the way they walk like their standing straight up, so cute. I know what your saying about hotel coffee ☕ 😏 not so good. I remember there used to be a instant coffee that was advertised as a freeze dried coffee ☕ it seems like it was Sanka 🤷♀️ loved the video thanks for sharing....Rene' from Michigan 😊❤
Yes, if you are not used to the snow it can be overwhelming. Recently moved from northern Utah to East Tennessee. Still not used to everything shutting down but I understand why, for sure.
MC pigeons look quite happy outside. Quite a few. I, too, like the men in black!! There were some very lovely pigeons at that show. Thank you, Brooke. Praying for Brian ❤️❤️
I’ve been hoping you would try to freeze dry coffee! I emailed you about it but you get so much communication I’m sure you didn’t see it! On our trip to Europe it was all freeze dried coffee in the hotels and it was awful! I wished I could bring my own!
Hahaha Brooke your recollection of the snow on the car was hysterical. I'm from Canada so needless to say I have experienced significantly more snow than what you had the pleasure of dealing with down there 😆 I love snow ❄️
Brooke we have lots of snow and cars covered here in Elverson,Pennsylvania. Glad you all had a great time. Jason missed you all. Lv and Prayers to all.
I’m so happy you’re back home safe and sound and “warmer” in Alabama! But glad you enjoyed the pigeon show. I could not believe how big the young peacocks are now! I did see exactly what you were talking about how to identify the male vs females. I’m so happy you have 3 more male peacocks added to Cog Hill Farm to spread even more beauty along with dad!! Love, love love it when you freeze dry anything! But the coffee…. was a fantastic idea! Love you all so much and every single critter in your loving care!!!!!❤️❤️❤️ With love, Kathy Washington State🇺🇸👋🏻🥰
Brooke, in Ohio we don't even call that snow! You did good for someone who isn't used to that kind of weather!! Your coffee is exceptional, for sure!! I've never wanted to drink a whole pot of coffee til I had Cog Hill Farm Christmas Coffee!! Amazing!!Freeze-dried Cog Hill Farm coffee?!?! 😱 Yes, please!!!! ❤
Good morning from Coastal Georgia. I was just watching the news as they were reporting the snow and storms, and flooding in various parts of the nation. It’s historic weather. MaryCarl your pigeons are beautiful. Thank both of U for sharing your time at the Pigeons Show. I never knew there was so many different breeds plus getting to hear what they were called. How much fun it looked.
Hi Brooke-most of the instant coffee available in the grocery stores are freeze dried coffee crystals. If you google freeze dried coffee, there is a lot of info on the best way to reconstitute your freeze dried coffee granules plus many recipes using the granules. I love your Cog Hill Coffee & wonder if you might consider adding a freeze dried version to the Cog Hill store?
I watch This Alaska Life on TH-cam and she does a lot of freeze drying. She said she found for every 3 oz of freeze dried solid add 1 cup of water. Hope that helps.
At my former job, one of my co-workers used to make really strong coffee, then pour it over vanilla ice cream with chocolate swirls in it. It was a real treat.
I put a chocolate square, instant coffee and hot water in a cup, stir it to melt the chocolate then add half and half. Real good to me. Brooke you may want to work on instant coffee. For those on the go. Great idea Brooke.
Yes M'am hotel coffee is sure not fit to drink! I remember freeze dried coffee being on the market-maybe Folgers? The peacocks- are you going to keep all current flock- thereby allowing them to continue to multiply? Brooke- I enjoyed your report on the snow🤭...we southern folks just have not acquired the skills and tricks to deal with that frozen stuff...anymore than our northern friends can deal with serious heat! But you got a few lessons this trip. So glad to see you a bit chipper, take care of yourself❣️
They are indeed beautiful birds. I love all the pigeons, I had no idea there were so many varieties. And the Peacocks, well they are beautiful and I am so glad they all lived.
Asking for prayers for my hubby, Brian 😢. He saw the Oncologist and his Cancer was staged at stage 3-C. Prayers are greatly appreciated.

Learned to drive in the snow when I was 16 in my Volkswagon bug, fun spinning Brody’s in the parking lot.😂
Looks like Mary Carl's gonna need a bigger coop!
Waaaaaaay bigger 🤣😂 I remember her mentioning months ago that she had around 70 pigeons! 🤣😂 She’s probably sold or given away some though
If you build they will come
I had no idea MC had that many pigeons. WOW!
My Granny made coffee flavored frosting 😊
Freeze dried coffee sounds like a good idea to bring on trips etc. Hotels usually have the worse coffee. Loved the pea fowl. I am glad they all lived.
Brooke, if you take cream and sugar, you can add that into your coffee before you freeze dry it and then you wouldn't have to add anything to it when reconstituted. I looked it up and it is fine to do it that way too! :)

Peafowls are beautiful. Glad they all made it. Prayers for Brian. Great freeze dry test Brooke. Blessings to Mrs Cog Hill 🙏🫶❤️
I put freeze dried coffee in brownies! Also chocolate cake.
My sis adds coffee to her brownies. Very good. I do wish they made a tabletop or apartment-sized freeze dryer.

I agree it's just me but wish they made small freeze driers
My sister has the small freeze drier , it's pretty small ! Would definitely fit in a apt
Coffee is part of my chocolate icing, too.

Love seeing all the pigeons. Didn’t realize she had so many. Love what you did with the coffee. Great idea.
You should add milk or cream to the coffee before freeze drying. Then you have coffee light crystals.
Another fabuñous video, Brooke!😊
Brooke you should brew the coffee really really strong then you would only need a smidge of freeze-dried coffee to a cup !!!! 🥰🙏 And you didn't show us how it looked when you took it of the trays ???
NO, But Kinda she got some on a spoon.. and she did hold the tray up when she took it out. So???

Add that concentrated coffee to brownies or anything chocolate in place of some of the liquid in your baking to bring out the chocolate intensity. so yummy!
Great idea! How about a batch of tea in the freeze dryer?! South is known for sweet tea using Luzianne.

My stepmother called that hamburger gravy Cowboy stew she seved it over mashed potatoes mostly. Does adding coffee makes it redeye gravy?
Red-Eye Gravy
My mother used to add coffee to her ham drippins, think she called it "red eye" gravy...anyhoo,it tasted great on grits!
I don’t know if y’all realize this, but freeze dried coffee is actually what instant coffee is.
