Ian casually testing the patience of the viewers each episodes. But also, seriously, I think one of the reasons why AntonBlast feels weird when it comes to finding secrets is because you kinda plays it like pizza tower, where most of the secrets are usually straight forward or really noticeable, you may even found them by accident. AntonBlast seems to require a bit more time, where you need to sometimes pause a bit and look at your environnement really well.
here's a tip for hunting for secrets because i can't bare to watch Ian hurt himself trying to find things that aren't there: there aren't any secrets or bonuses that require you to tank damage in order to find it. all secrets and puzzles and challenges do not require you to take damage in order to find them. otherwise, any suspicions are on the table!
and one more thing: some really secrety secrets are pretty cryptic and take some creative exploration. but not hurting yourself. that's never the answer ❤
Here's a fun little detail about the bosses, from the achievements each boss is assigned a sin. Brawlbuster (first boss) is pride, only reason you are able to hurt him is cuz he starts flexing. Jewel Ghoul is lust, lust for gems and also just regular lust with the fact of the dancers in the back. Tallbuster is sloth, he stays whole fight sitting just throwing stuff at you and you have to start it. Also, all busters are moles, tallbuster is just a really, really, really, really long mole.
Tallbuster represents Sloth, according to the game's achievements on Steam, so it makes sense that he'd basically do nothing for most of the fight, up to and including wait for you to attack first. He's also supposed to be a mole, like the rest of the Bucket Brigade, including Brawlbuster before him.
Basically, from what I've seen/played this game is intended to be straightforward. You said this more or less, but just to reaffirm, y'all are very used to trying to do obscure and clever shit to find secrets because you're presuming the game is trying very hard to hide them- which, to be fair, a good amount of games do. Antonblast, however, is very OBVIOUS about when something is, in fact, a secret/a challenge to get to- it's 'honest' about its secrets like a lot of old-school games. You don't really need to go out of your way to locate them (save for a couple of extra tricky ones), the game will taunt you about it through level design for the most part. If something seems like 'yeah it seems really clear I should be able to get to that' then likely the game will, in fact, take you there- just not right that second. Some places are only open after Happy Hour, IRL, and in this game. Also. Blue is an excellent color.
I haven't mentioned it yet, but I'm loving the whole first mole bit =) Also, the variety in the boss fights has been really fun so far. All of them have felt completely different in how they play, at least from a viewer perspective. I'm enjoying Ian's flailing around for secrets, myself. Has strong "there's definitely a secret here" energy from BLG Sonic games, just more chaotic because Anton Blast. Honestly, she looks a bit like a faceless version of Madeline from Celeste, with the blue hair after using a dash. This game definitely wants its secrets to be more... well... secret, compared to something like Pizza Tower. It's a difference of design philosophy, and I wouldn't call it better or worse, just different.
When i first went through the levels i kept being confused and wondering if i was going the right way. I always was though so its like a weird chaotic feeling that you get when first running through. Replaying levels in this game after beating it once is a really good feeling.
Day 204 of reminding everyone Ian drank Casey’s Nesquik. Eyyyy more Antonblast. Sorry I couldn’t be here for the launch, I was a little eepy, but hope you’re still having fun.
@@danielflin3877 Nesquik is an American brand of chocolate milk drink. During their Mario Wonder series Ian drank Casey’s Nesquik, it was a drink she was very much looking forward to enjoying. They made a bit out of it but Casey was real mad in the moment. So I made a bit out of it. A bit that’s been going on for 204 days campaigning Ian to finally buy Casey a new Nesquik. Does this clear things up?
Not gonna lie I also spend way longer than was deffinetly intended to looking for secrets in this level. I think what this game does is that you're used to games being smarter than you so you go in expecting that when the game is actually playing dumb, and the moment I stopped thinking like that is the moment levels became a lot easier (when I was already around the endgame...) Also being fair with Ian this game def is one of restarting more (I imagine that's why they let you do from last checkpoint)
Day 158 of requesting shovel knight dig or Pocket dungeon also in my opinion Tall buster is the least interesting of all the Bosses he's just kinda simple in game play and doesn't even do anything with his height or long body! Lost opportunity

Very funny that they’re using the sonic skin in the level that introduces rail grinding
Oh my god you're right

Honestly, it would be very unfair to hide secrets in areas that demand you to hurt yourself to access them

20:07 the fact that she ain't wrong.
Like the devs even talked about that
Casey, every time Ian hits you with the scream, you should scream back. I tried this with my dog I swear it works, he'll stop immediately
I haven't watched the video yet
but if Ian makes Anton scream in the first 10 seconds I am going to fucking go insane
edit: GOD FUCKING DAMN IT

I like the spinning low poly Annie :D
All the busters are moles... just oddly shaped...
So what you're telling me is that there were moles all the way back in Boiler City? I cannot believe this
Hey, be respectful. They're all the first moles they've seen.
15:46. Hey, they get the reference!
I love Tallbuster. He's so chill.
7:55
Uh oh I gotta get out of here
10:48 Could you perhaps be making…
Hedgehog Stew?

I legitimately thought the silence was an edit for a second.

I agree with Casey, Ian should stop saying Hawk Tuah
I was not patient enough and wrote a comment talking about perma health before the video ended lol. Great videos yall!
I daresay our friend Ian is losing it.
I can see Ian and Casey being anton and Annie
26:50 wow for a second it was just like i was watchign the hollow knight playthru again
The amount of times she saud YOIKINED is funny to me 😂
The person who was mean to Ian may not be here, but *I* know they're here in spirit.
I think Casey should always say "BLG Drink of the Day"

Okay, I need to know now. You keep saying this. What do you mean?

QotD: the shape reminds me of a croissant with a bow on it. which is nothing, but that's still my answer
more AAAAAAAAAAntonBlast!!

29:30 I can vouch Ian, I also said hawk tuah. Isn't that great?
4:06 Was.. was that a Guilty Gear reference in my BLG video?

Ey fun fact! You can actually change the pitch of Anton and Annie's screaming by pressing up or down while you're doin' it!
