These video are so sweet yet so sad at the same time, especially Gypsy kids for they struggle so much just for that basic bond. Even though Gypsy has gotten better sad to hear his chirps of mom mom please and exciting when she honored his chirps. So sad for this little guy just when things were picking up for him. Always sad to see a baby die.

Oh AM- I was hoping so much for a beautiful tribute like this. I never did see that last footage of Koby. I was watching an earlier video of yours when Koby was first born, and he didn’t seem as clingy as he did when older. He actually wanted to explore his surroundings in lieu of milk. I wonder what triggered the hyper focus on adult attention later in his short life- maybe feeling rejected? Maybe Gypsy trying to wean him early? It’s like we all want what we can’t have. But even Gypsy did seem to understand he was a sensitive child. For her, she was tolerant. The one episode that is firm in my memory is the ones where he totally flipped out when he was ignored by Mum. It was funny at first- I loved that one episode where you gave us a triple replay of the tantrum! But the last few episodes I noticed his cries were a constant sound, much like Scooby’s hoot. ‘Oh there’s Koby crying for Gypsy again…’ 💔 AM- thank you again so so much. It was just a touching and beautiful tribute. At least Kailey will love and guide him in Heaven 🙏🤎🐵

I still feel sad for Scooby and the way he just wanted his Mum to hold him tight.Lil Koby was a Mum's boy also. Such different personalities they all have. I know I'm going to be crying. Thank you fr being do respectful to these sweet little hairy humans. How can you tell who is who...they all look the same to me. Do they have different markings or faces that you can see that I can't? I love watching your videos. Some of the other ones I've seen are so disrespectful and purposely cause problems just so they can get a video. Thank you for so much information on these troops and their families.

Arroz, you sure can tell a story. Not only do you make us feel as if we know and have great insight into these monkeys personally, but you also make us feel as if we are right there along side you in some small way, even being a part of the story. In times like this, however, such as in Kobe’s death, it seems to make the pain we feel so much greater. I guess sometimes it takes loss to truly celebrate and appreciate those things we take for granted most. Although I’m crying like a baby now, I am so grateful to have been given a glimpse into this poor baby’s short life. You never knew me, Kobe, but I certainly did know you!

It’s July 27, 2023 and I’m just seeing this. Koby looks so sweet but not very playful or happy. Poor little thing. It seems as if current Gypsy has become a better mom. It’s sorrowful that he was killed on the road but, fortunately, he didn’t slowly starve to death like some we’ve seen.
A poignant video indeed, about Koby's brief life and tragic death. My eyes welled up watching this! 😢😭 Wherever you are, Koby, you've got big sister Kailey to play with and look out for you in Monkey Paradise, having crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. The slow music really fit the mood. How did Koby get killed? The sensitivity and sparse narration was also appropriate--Arroz, you tactfully handled this one sad episode. Rest easy, little Koby, I'll never forget your gentle personality! 😭😿😿💧💧🙈🙊🙏🙏🕊🕊
Swinging through the trees of a Heaven that does indeed exist. Gypsy will see her babies again to never have to say goodbye. I wonder if she had a sense that his life would be short... Sometimes moms do ❤

Gypsy has an amazing ability to keep her kids focused on her even though she rejects them half the time. I wonder if she does this by walking away without telling them. Until they discover she’s gone.
You wonder how similar their emotions are to ours. Imagine it would be tough seeing all the other babies with loving mothers and wondering why yours didn't seem to care for you much.
Thanks AM for the tribute to Koby. Bless his heart, he was born with at least 3 strikes against him already due to Gypsy's mothering ways. Since she is so low born she probably was not taught to be a good mum and sometimes it is hard to tell if Rudy is helping or kidnapping. She seems to be a better mother when she is not really, really hungry.she does love her kids in her own way. I venture to say she may be a better mother than Nora the first 3 weeks.
I truly hate that Krissy and Dotty were sterilized and could not have at least one baby. If Krissy could have had at least one baby she could probably have been able to nurse Koby if she started lactating. What a shame.

Why does everyone assume Gyspy's way of parenthood is hard, cruel, or unloving? Arroz has stated that Gyspy is the lowest ranking member in this troop. All her offspring will retain her rank too. Unless... ? Is there a way to change that? Yes, one can change their ranking in the troop. Grooming and being strong when defending off another troop or even a scuffle within. But being the lowest is a challenge of its own. Gypsy strategically places her offspring closer to higher-ranking members and conditions them to accept their presence during times when rank is in use. Like feeding. Ridgy who is high ranking and the mother of Rudy has been more accepting of Gypsy's children hanging around. Gyspy keeps her distance but not any of her children. In this video they surround Ridgy. Rudy who wants a baby desperately became the main caretaker/nanny to Gyspy's babies. But under her care, Kailey dies. Kailey was hanging around and close to Fify (Rudy's sister) and whenever Grandee was sharing food with the young ones Kailey got to be upfront alongside Fify snatching food. After Kailey's death came Kody, in whose responsibility was divided between Rudy and Krissy. But Rudy was possessive of Kody and she tried to block Krissy whenever possible. But once Koby was born it seems Krissy was given Koby as the main caretaker/nanny. Gyspy held a grudge against Rudy for Kailey's death? And now that Koby has passed, who will be next? Dotty? Is Gyspy trying to give her offspring a better life within the troop? Distancing herself from her babies and placing them closer to higher-ranking members? Now Ridgy may have lost her place, is Gyspy back to square one? This is just a theory, or not. Sure makes one wonder is there a more thought process within macaques that we are unaware of...
So sad about koby. Will miss u lil boy forever. Hope you are in monkey heaven with all the milk you could ever want along with your sis and cousins who have passed before you. You were loved by many that you never knew precious baby. Goodbye precious baby.
Am I gonna cry?!?! I get the feeling I am 🥺 Koby 😢 I have a love/hate with you, Arroz… love AND hate memorial videos!! Yep, I’m crying… It’s a shame that they cannot regulate the drivers better on Monkey Hill. Between all of the monkeys and the people that walk it, you’d think the speed limit would be 1 mph!!

Gypsy strategically places her offspring closer to higher-ranking members and conditions them to accept their presence during times when rank is in use. Like feeding. Ridgy who is high ranking and the mother of Rudy has been more accepting of Gypsy's children hanging around. Gyspy keeps her distance but not any of her children. In this video they surround Ridgy.
Rudy who wants a baby desperately became the main caretaker/nanny to Gyspy's babies. But under her care, Kailey dies. Kailey was hanging around and close to Fify (Rudy's sister) and whenever Grandee was sharing food with the young ones Kailey got to be upfront alongside Fify snatching food. After Kailey's death came Kody, in whose responsibility was divided between Rudy and Krissy. But Rudy was possessive of Kody and she tried to block Krissy whenever possible.
But once Koby was born it seems Krissy was given Koby as the main caretaker/nanny. Gyspy held a grudge against Rudy for Kailey's death? And now that Koby has passed, who will be next? Dotty? Is Gyspy trying to give her offspring a better life within the troop? Distancing herself from her babies and placing them closer to higher-ranking members? Now Ridgy may have lost her place, is Gyspy back to square one?
This is just a theory, or not. Sure makes one wonder is there a more thought process within macaques that we are unaware of...
Awe, poor baby. Just so sad. Poor Gypsy. I knew she was far to lethargic...so did you. The joys and sadness of monkey hill.
So sad about koby. Will miss u lil boy forever. Hope you are in monkey heaven with all the milk you could ever want along with your sis and cousins who have passed before you. You were loved by many that you never knew precious baby. Goodbye precious baby.

Arroz as usual your tribute to Koby is a wonderful, bittersweet video. We who never got to see him in real life felt his childhood and mourn his passing. You made us love this lil monkey and gave us his short life in tribute.
