As a German, I love how people react to the song, even without understanding the full meaning and constant "twists" in the lyrics. The thing is that the title and by extension of course the text is an incredibly clever and mind-blowing word play, because it is only resolved after the complete line "Du hast mich gefragt" (You have asked me). Before that it keeps changing its meaning twice from "You have" to "You hate me" . Then, of course you have the meanness of "Do you want to love her until death do you part?", and while the angelic choir says "Yes", he shouts "NO!"
I fell in love with German music when I discovered Tokio Hotel back in the early 2000's, the band is led by identical twins who hated school so much they dropped out, taught themselves how to play instruments and write their own songs. At 14 they were already knocking out bands like Metalica at the German MTv awards, I love their songs in their original German but they learned English and went back and recorded them in English too so you can find their early videos in both. My first love was an anti-suicide song they put out called Spring Nicht (Don't Jump), their sound and look have evolved a lot since then but I still love the beautiful sound of Bill's vocals.
Will see them 21 of august in Montreal for the third time, i m in for a mega treat ❤❤

"Rockets and stuff..." Anytime they perform, the fire Marshall of the city ALWAYS gets really excited....and NOT for the same reason the fans do 😏🤣. There's someone from the fire Marshal office on site the entire time they're in the city. The pyro technics and the gas flames are always there....a real nightmare for the guy tasked with prevention of fires 😏.

Love this song and Rammstein! Saw them a couple of years ago here in Stockholm. They are famous for their pyrotecnic shows. Cheers from a girl in Sweden.
It was 1997 when "Du Hast" was released, I was 4 years old and it blew my mind as a kid when I saw the video on MTV. I have been a huge fan ever since and Rammstein have never disappointed since that day. They're one of my all time favorite bands and definitely the greatest band you will ever since live. I am finally going to my first Rammstein concert here in NJ on September 6th and I seriously can't wait. I wished my Dad was still alive because I would of taken him with me since he was a huge fan as well, although I know he will be there in spirit along side me. I will be taking my 64 year old rockstar Mom along side me to enjoy this experience, plus she is a metalhead herself and loves Rammstein.
Nevertheless, you always put some of the best reactions and I know you will continue to do so. Rock on! 🎸🤘
Have fun! I've seen them live three times and all it doesn't get dull. It's going to get hot, though, even if you aren't that close to the stage.

Their concerts are like nothing you have ever seen. The Cardiff one was heard 11 miles away. At one of them during this song and that flying pyro someone though it’s a footage of the war in Ukraine and put it all over Tick Tock. People have been reporting stations burning when it’s just the pyro seen from outside. There was even a seismic activity detected at some of them. I was all the way in the back and I could still feel the heat of the flames.

First time i heard about Rammstein was with this song at "Family Values" '98 or '99.

"Musica Satanica" LOL. Rammstein do beautiful ballads, and some song that your mother would be flinging holy water at from a great distance. They are very LGBT+ friendly - their song Mann Gegen Mann, they use real life stories, Mein Teil, Weiner Blut, even the odd comic (on the surface) song, Dicke Titten from their last album is a good example. their videos are amazing, their live perfomances legendary. I hope you'll explore more - it's a fascinating rabbit hole. Usually best to do just a little research on the songs first (as they are all in German). Have fun.

Rammstein is assuredly NOT Satanic in any way. They are one of rhe biggest bands I'm the world, know for epic live shows with tons of pyrotechnics. They are currently on a world tour supporting their latest album, Zeit.
As a tip, if you want how to learn how to actually pronounce rammstein would be to listen to the song rammstein.
