- An Anubias flower has bloomed for the first time in a few years in this planted tank. While there's a good number of Anubias plants in my aquariums, none have grown out any flowers for 2-3 years. The last ones were when they are still emersed forms but not any when they transitioned to submerged.

Such a lovely lone bloom. Stunning!
💙 there's another bud about to bloom at the other side of the tank but the fish ate the first flower before the second one opened.
@@MorningDriftwood Well, it must have been tantalizing for them too!

Cool!
thanks! 💙
This has happened to me even in less than optimal conditions. I'm not sure what triggers it but definitely a lit rarer than buce flowers which I see in my tanks quite often. Anyone know what makes them flower?
I don't know, I've only have them before on newly bought plants that I just started to submerge. This is my first one from a submerged Anubias and I've had them for about 4 years. Though, do not mind not having flowers. I prefer if they keep utilizing their energy into making more leaves since that's what I like about them, their broad and rigid green leaves.

Algea looks bad on the leaves and the holes in them need to address nutritional needs
Thanks for the concern.
This tank was just previously congested with plants to the point some were showing deficiencies which still show now. I made a rescape where I removed a lot of plants and started dosing some fertilizer. That's when the spot algae started to get more noticeable. It's only been a few months and hopefully some stability will come.
