Mentorship and Marketing Challenges for Nurses in Business
Sharon Burch from LiberatedNurse.com shared her role as a mentor and her willingness to support and guide nurses in business. Joanne, a newly established nurse coach and entrepreneur, shared her challenges with marketing her private practice. Despite receiving many responses to her Facebook ad, none of the potential clients committed to a consultation. Sharon offered her assistance in navigating these challenges.
    Facebook Advertising Strategy Discussion
Joanne expressed her doubts about the effectiveness of Facebook advertising for her business, given the mixed response from her initial investment. Sharon clarified that the success of advertising relies heavily on clear messaging that resonates with the target audience.
    Marketing and A/B Testing Strategy
Sharon explained the concept of a split test, where two different versions of an ad are tested simultaneously to determine which performs better. Sharon also pointed out the high cost and complexity of Facebook advertising, suggesting it could be a full-time job to manage effectively.
    Empathetic Listening and Client Conversations
Sharon emphasized the importance of empathetic listening and understanding the client's perspective to develop an effective coaching program. Teresa shared her insights on how to conduct meaningful conversations with potential clients. Sharon also clarified that the initial purpose of these conversations is to gather information, not to sell a program, although a follow-up discussion could be arranged if there is mutual interest. The group was encouraged to practice these techniques in their conversations with clients.
    Enhancing Client Engagement and Differentiation
Joanne shared her strategy for broadening her client base by reaching out to unfamiliar areas and individuals. Sharon advised Joanne to focus on client benefits and desired outcomes when communicating, using specific examples such as helping diabetics spend time with their grandchildren.
Strategies for Promoting Nursing Services and Thought Leadership
Sharon advised Joanne on strategies to promote her services and establish herself as a thought leader in the nursing industry. Sharon suggested Joanne create a PDF with her brand, contact information, and bullet points to share with potential clients. Joanne agreed with this strategy and expressed her goal to reach larger audiences. Sharon also recommended that Joanne look for 'hubs' or groups of people to connect with and become the key person at the center of those groups. Joanne shared her relevant experience, and Jan added that nurturing relationships within her community could lead to invitations to share her expertise.
    Balancing Revenue and Relationship Building
Joanne expressed her concerns about the unpredictability of her revenue and the need to balance relationship-building with marketing her services. Sharon suggested that Joanne could benefit from their Liberated Nurse Business Incubator program and offered her services as a private business coach and mentor. Lauren shared her experiences from the incubator, emphasizing the importance of clarifying one's audience and marketing message. She recommended that Joanne consider hosting live sessions on social media and highlighted the need for a solid disclaimer when offering workshops.
    Client Review
Lauren, Sharon, and Joanne discussed the importance of clear disclaimers. The team reviewed Lauren's disclaimer and provided constructive feedback.
Incorporating Health Coaching and Empowering Clients
Lauren, Sharon, Teresa, Jan, and Joanne discussed incorporating health coaching into Lauren's practice. Sharon suggested adding "health and wellness coach" to Lauren's description, emphasizing the client's responsibility for their choices. Teresa and Jan concurred, highlighting the empowerment this approach gives the client and the coach. Lauren agreed to include this in her presentations.
    Next Steps and Upcoming Plans
Lauren highlighted her next steps, which included working on her audience and refining her messages. She also mentioned ongoing projects like the herb workshop. Jan shared her next step of returning to her business after a month off. Joanne revealed her plan to consider doing a live event. Teresa talked about her upcoming speech at the end of July, which she will practice and deliver in front of a live audience. The group expressed their support for each other's personal and professional growth.
