Jay Z had a strategy of hanging out with far more talented MCs hoping the shine rubbed off on him. Ended up working out for him. Mostly cuz he stepped into the vacuum when Big and PAC died and declared himself the best and hoped nobody noticed it wasn’t true.
Yo you should check out Bad Meets Evil - 12 Minute Freestyle [HQ Lyrics] from 1998 with Eminem and Royce da 5'9. It's one of the best imo with constant punchlines and crazy lyrics. Big L also have another one called 98 freestyle.
I have listened to this atleast 1000 times no joke, and for some reason this video seems like its 10-15% slowed down or something, still sounds good but its something fishy with it.
