I have used the original with Pcc and it works great for my 24' Tolman. I found that it was best to take your time pulling it in and let it build speed slowly. I also left the anchor rode in the bucket on the beach as well as the floating poly. I just put the anchor and chain on the boat. Backed out until ALL slack out of lines and the released the anchor. I need to find an anchor like shown though.
very helpful thank you, I am going to do this with a 3 anchor system as my area is fairly tidal and I feel i need to be a bit more secure, but this jsut totally showed me how to do it, bless you. tight lines =)
I recently swapped out the 3" steel ring with a larger plastic ring used on seiners. My thought was the larger diameter would have less friction. They both seem to work about the same however.
This is exactly the kind of system I am trying to come up with. What is the point of the 100 ft of 3/8 rope on shore? Is that just an extension in case the tide came up above the end of the black loop of rope? in which case you could just use a longer length of black rope in the loop? Also do you think a pulley with a swivel would accomplish the same goal of keeping the black rope from twisting, or are you using the ring instead of a pulley to prevent seaweed from jamming the pulley? Thanks
Good question. I don't know. The seine ring is very thick! For my boat it works fine. But if it broke the boat would still be tied off to shores so it would not drift way and the anchor line has a float on it.
Forgive my thickness but I can't pick it up from the video with you explaining what you are doing can you make another with sound please ..
Me either. It’s driving me nuts. I anchor in tidal situation and need something like this.
We used to do that with our toy boats when we were about 6 -8 years old . It was never that complicated.
Thanks for posting. Great video.

Very effective!! & useful

I use a PVC hoop at the anchor instead of a pulley or carabiner
Nice! Lots of ways to do it and they all work fine as long as you have some way to avoid twisting the rope and can inspect it.

+mtcaddis Correct on both questions. Pulley's don't work well if it's weedy. You
can also use a 6" plastic purse seine ring if you can find one.
I can’t figure it out!!! Ugh
What is the break strength of a 6" plastic seine ring?

Gret ,
Dude...like the system, but why are you grunting so much? You sound like you are in serious pain or discomfort.
Go to WoodPrix if you'd like to build it yourself.
