Your room is amazing! I think my favorite thing is that shelf that wraps around the room. It really is a great spot for all of the stamp n storage units. I did my room with IKEA cabinets as well, they are fantastic.

I do feel very spoiled and very grateful! Of course my husband allowed this size room because I have a business too. I think it would’ve been harder to justify taking all this space if it was just for my hobby.

Fantastic craft room.... and yes any raw wood needs to have the best primer available applied to it first. I learned that lesson the hard way on our pine chimney cupboard. Your room is a dream space and I can see it is perfect place to create.

Love it. This fall my husband is going to paint my Stamp n storage items. The wood doesn't look good in my room. I just don't know what color white or black.
Amazing! I have a huge room for crafting, but wallpaper 1960's greens orange etc depressing.. wild mess I try to organize n get so overwhelmed, I wish I could win a fix a room contest! I'm disabled n at home unless at medical appointments.. your place took my breath away, enjoy!

Yes, my parents are amazing people. 🤗 I have another room on another level of my house where I hold classes and have been calling THAT room my studio, so it would feel strange to call this room my studio, too. LOL But I agree! It DOES need a more important title. hehehe Paper Pumpkin kits are the monthly kits that I create with each month. I'm obsessed with them and even lead a group on Facebook where people share all their fun creations - things that THEY also made with the contents of these kits. This was so inspiring.. Thank you for sharing I would like to know what kind of paint you used for insert pieces. I did hear you say not latex so is it a wall paint?
The key is to spray paint them first. that way you seal the wood. Then you can come back in with whatever paint you want to match your decor. But be careful to do thin layers so that you can still add your products into the holders.
You have a very extensive & a very large space for all your crafting! Wonderful, and you still have space to store more things! May I ask how large the room is? Congratulations! Great that you had wonderful help too! I also didn't realize that the corner cabinet from Home Depot is no longer available. I have those corner units in 2 walk-in closets & in my pantry & they hold a lot! My husband & I got rid of the terrible white wire rack systems that don't hold up worth a you know what & installed the white laminate closet systems from Home Depot. I priced out other closet systems from 2 other vendors & we saved a good $1,000 on 3 walk-in closets by purchasing from Home Depot & installing ourselves. It just takes time, but really isn't that hard at all to install yourself, with some help, of course!

Gorgeous room, I live in Suffolk Uk and because when we moved here six years ago my husband put some cupboards and shelves in my craft room for me, but then he emptied all the boxes out on top of them and the table, then I got depressed about not knowing anyone I didn’t even go in there so every time he found something in the house that he didn’t like or where it was he would stand at my craft room door and throw it in. I’m disabled, even more so with my stupid Achilles needing fixed, I can’t get in there so have craft stuff in my bedroom he keeps moving so now I can’t find anything, if I want to craft I have to buy something new. He said he will sort it and turn it back to a bedroom, and my craft stuff can go to charity or in the bin. If he touches my stuff he will have his ears pierced with a pair of crutches and toes taken off by a wheelchair lol I keep showing him rooms like yours, his first thing is yeah look how tidy they are, so my answer, there husband didn’t disrespect what they do and dumped stuff in there, he just huffs and walks away lol grrr men!! (Well some men!)

Thanks Ann. Everyone's story is different. There is no one right way to do it. I hosted two parties/workshops at my house back to back (made it harder for the people I asked to say they couldn't come if I had two nights for them to choose from), I was extremely enthusiastic about the product (and still am), and 4 of my friends and family booked parties after attending. Those bookings led to more bookings and so on. I offered booking incentives and hosting incentives, and my customer list grew and grew (this became a newsletter list). And I kept in contact with these people on a regular basis. Pretty soon I had my "regulars" who ordered from me often. It just kept building. In-home parties are a super fast way to build sales AND a customer base at the same time.

Rachel , great job on your video and craft room. I'm getting a lot of the stamp n storage units for my craft room. You didn't recommend latex paint, but you didn't use spray paint. So what did you use for painting. TFS, your room
We used the water-based and had problems. That's why I recommend NOT using it. It will swell the wood. My pieces had to be repaired. They are damaged but it's hard to tell unless you look closely. This is what SnS recommends... Can I order mine in another color? No. Our products are shipped sanded and ready to be used in their natural state. However, they can be painted to match your decor, and we recommend that you use spray paint. Start with a coat of primer, sand the surfaces (which are easily accessible), then, apply 2-3 coats of the final color. Lightly sanding between coats is really helpful too! We thought the painter we hired was going to use spray paint, and she didn't. (In fact that is the reason we hired someone...we couldn't spray paint them ourselves in our garage because it is too cold here in the winter.)
I love your space so jealous my craft room now is like your previous craft room. IKEA assist with your lay out of your space, that is exactly what I need that is whole reason why my space is in shambles. Because I have no idea how to organize this space
That planning stage takes the longest. I suggest giving yourself a deadline. And have that time and people ready to help make it possible ready to put it together during that time. A deadline will make the planning and decisions happen! LOL

beautiful room! i'm hoping to get my own craft room soon that isn't half of my bedroom! :) i've been wondering... do the stamp and storage units like the inkpad and punch shelving... do they come apart for painting? or do you have to get between all the little shelves? by the way i'm a new subbie :)
They do come out, but we had some painting issues with ours...The gal we hired used a water-based paint (latex), and the wood swelled. I believe Home Depot carries ClosetMaid systems now that is still the wood laminate. I don't know why somethings have to be discontinued when they work the best. It's like if it's not broke, don't fix it! Elfa has a pretty good closet system too that the Container Store carries, however, I don't know how good Elfa systems are for a craft room. I do have some Elfa shelving that I like. Stamp & Storage has a new drawer unit out now. To me it's on the expensive side & I'm not that keen on having drawers that don't have rollers to slide out. I would think over time their drawers would break down because it's wood sliding on wood. I'd rather have the drawers that you have in your craft room that are the kitchen cabinet drawers on glides & rollers. IKEA is here in Colorado now, but they are still well over an hour's drive for me to get there & traffic & such. I do like some of their units, as you have, but when it comes to purchasing online & having it shipped, I'm not always sure what I should get. I do like some of IKEA's wardrobes because they can be moved anywhere you want them. There again, I get confused as to what all can be & should be put inside them to suit one's needs for organization. Consequently, I haven't bought any. Thanks for sharing!

I would like to know what kind of paint you used for insert pieces. I did hear you say not latex so is it a wall paint?
The key is to spray paint them first. that way you seal the wood. Then you can come back in with whatever paint you want to match your decor. But be careful to do thin layers so that you can still add your products into the holders.

You have a very extensive & a very large space for all your crafting! Wonderful, and you still have space to store more things! May I ask how large the room is? Congratulations! Great that you had wonderful help too! I also didn't realize that the corner cabinet from Home Depot is no longer available. I have those corner units in 2 walk-in closets & in my pantry & they hold a lot! My husband & I got rid of the terrible white wire rack systems that don't hold up worth a you know what & installed the white laminate closet systems from Home Depot. I priced out other closet systems from 2 other vendors & we saved a good $1,000 on 3 walk-in closets by purchasing from Home Depot & installing ourselves. It just takes time, but really isn't that hard at all to install yourself, with some help, of course!

Gorgeous room, I live in Suffolk Uk and because when we moved here six years ago my husband put some cupboards and shelves in my craft room for me, but then he emptied all the boxes out on top of them and the table, then I got depressed about not knowing anyone I didn’t even go in there so every time he found something in the house that he didn’t like or where it was he would stand at my craft room door and throw it in. I’m disabled, even more so with my stupid Achilles needing fixed, I can’t get in there so have craft stuff in my bedroom he keeps moving so now I can’t find anything, if I want to craft I have to buy something new. He said he will sort it and turn it back to a bedroom, and my craft stuff can go to charity or in the bin. If he touches my stuff he will have his ears pierced with a pair of crutches and toes taken off by a wheelchair lol I keep showing him rooms like yours, his first thing is yeah look how tidy they are, so my answer, there husband didn’t disrespect what they do and dumped stuff in there, he just huffs and walks away lol grrr men!! (Well some men!)
So sorry Ann. Get that tendon fixed and then work on your room one piece at a time. I have faith in you.

Thanks Ann. Everyone's story is different. There is no one right way to do it. I hosted two parties/workshops at my house back to back (made it harder for the people I asked to say they couldn't come if I had two nights for them to choose from), I was extremely enthusiastic about the product (and still am), and 4 of my friends and family booked parties after attending. Those bookings led to more bookings and so on. I offered booking incentives and hosting incentives, and my customer list grew and grew (this became a newsletter list). And I kept in contact with these people on a regular basis. Pretty soon I had my "regulars" who ordered from me often. It just kept building. In-home parties are a super fast way to build sales AND a customer base at the same time.

Rachel , great job on your video and craft room. I'm getting a lot of the stamp n storage units for my craft room. You didn't recommend latex paint, but you didn't use spray paint. So what did you use for painting. TFS, your room
We used the water-based and had problems. That's why I recommend NOT using it. It will swell the wood. My pieces had to be repaired. They are damaged but it's hard to tell unless you look closely. This is what SnS recommends...

We thought the painter we hired was going to use spray paint, and she didn't. (In fact that is the reason we hired someone...we couldn't spray paint them ourselves in our garage because it is too cold here in the winter.)

That planning stage takes the longest. I suggest giving yourself a deadline. And have that time and people ready to help make it possible ready to put it together during that time. A deadline will make the planning and decisions happen! LOL

beautiful room! i'm hoping to get my own craft room soon that isn't half of my bedroom! :) i've been wondering... do the stamp and storage units like the inkpad and punch shelving... do they come apart for painting? or do you have to get between all the little shelves? by the way i'm a new subbie :)
They do come out, but we had some painting issues with ours...The gal we hired used a water-based paint (latex), and the wood swelled. So she couldn't get the pieces to go back in and split much of the wood. I recommend spray paint. In fact this is what Stamp -n- Storage has in their FAQ area of their website now...

I believe Home Depot carries ClosetMaid systems now that is still the wood laminate. I don't know why somethings have to be discontinued when they work the best. It's like if it's not broke, don't fix it! Elfa has a pretty good closet system too that the Container Store carries, however, I don't know how good Elfa systems are for a craft room. I do have some Elfa shelving that I like. Stamp & Storage has a new drawer unit out now. To me it's on the expensive side & I'm not that keen on having drawers that don't have rollers to slide out. I would think over time their drawers would break down because it's wood sliding on wood. I'd rather have the drawers that you have in your craft room that are the kitchen cabinet drawers on glides & rollers. IKEA is here in Colorado now, but they are still well over an hour's drive for me to get there & traffic & such. I do like some of their units, as you have, but when it comes to purchasing online & having it shipped, I'm not always sure what I should get. I do like some of IKEA's wardrobes because they can be moved anywhere you want them. There again, I get confused as to what all can be & should be put inside them to suit one's needs for organization. Consequently, I haven't bought any. Thanks for sharing!
