I’ve been following this band since the MySpace days and every time they release a new song it’s always the same reaction from the fans, either they love it or hate it. I’m not gonna lie, I’ve always liked how they experiment with a new sound every album, but than again that could just be the scene kid/ fan girl in me 🤷🏻♀️ ( I still love them)
there's experimenting and then there's completely loosing touch with your roots. this is the latter. and that is why fans drop like flies because nothing remains of the bring me the horizon hay day, the for stevie wonders eyes only and the chelsea smile days. in its place is this generic pop sounding trash that has been pumped out for a mainstream fan base. look at slipknot for example, entirely different beast i'm aware, but the fact remains they said fuck you to the social norm (quite literally) and remained true to their sound. now when a new slipknot album drops the fans go crazy for it. when bring me the horizon drops their new album the fans just dread how bad its going to be.
Been following them too since about 2006 and honestly my friends and I shared tears together since that abomination they released after Sepimternal. I wish I had got to see them live before they bent over, lubed up and got fucked.
It helps that I love hard rock and all the "core" genres equally, as I've enjoyed all of their albums for the most part. This album seems to be slightly heavier than TTS, but not quite as heavy as Sempiternal. I'm looking forward to hearing the rest.
The music video for "The Comedown" on the "Suicide Season" album contains a man with a Predator mask, and he just goes about doing normal daily things. If you watch and compare the music videos, you'll get the resemblance and similarities.

To be fair to Oli he kinda can't scream anymore (mostly due to poor technique apparently) so its not like he can fully commit to the old style. However atleast the actual music behind the vocals is now back to being proper metal

I’ve been following this band since the MySpace days and every time they release a new song it’s always the same reaction from the fans, either they love it or hate it. I’m not gonna lie, I’ve always liked how they experiment with a new sound every album, but than again that could just be the scene kid/ fan girl in me 🤷🏻♀️ ( I still love them)
there's experimenting and then there's completely loosing touch with your roots. this is the latter. and that is why fans drop like flies because nothing remains of the bring me the horizon hay day, the for stevie wonders eyes only and the chelsea smile days. in its place is this generic pop sounding trash that has been pumped out for a mainstream fan base. look at slipknot for example, entirely different beast i'm aware, but the fact remains they said fuck you to the social norm (quite literally) and remained true to their sound. now when a new slipknot album drops the fans go crazy for it. when bring me the horizon drops their new album the fans just dread how bad its going to be.
Been following them too since about 2006 and honestly my friends and I shared tears together since that abomination they released after Sepimternal. I wish I had got to see them live before they bent over, lubed up and got fucked.
It helps that I love hard rock and all the "core" genres equally, as I've enjoyed all of their albums for the most part. This album seems to be slightly heavier than TTS, but not quite as heavy as Sempiternal. I'm looking forward to hearing the rest.

It's basically just fuckboi wannabe metal and instead of screaming he gets a feature when he can damn well do it himself pretty lame with that's the spirit I thought oh experimental album The Architects did one of those and now it's getting worse so I guess I have to drop one of my favorite pastime bands
To be fair to Oli he kinda can't scream anymore (mostly due to poor technique apparently) so its not like he can fully commit to the old style. However atleast the actual music behind the vocals is now back to being proper metal
I like it better than Mantra. This song gave me much more confidence in the next album.
