Overdue and much needed AMA. Thanks for making this happen to all involved.
No problem at all Skunk I am glad it was beneficial
Great idea let's bring in an experienced veteran of the gaming industry and then spend the next 10 years developing this game. I prefer Kieran , in 4 years we have 3 games literally laying the foundation for Web 3 gaming never been done like this before, Kieran and Aaron have my vote
Love to hear that Reddas! And I agree, they are fresh but thats what the industry needs
Great work guys! 💪🏻 Transparency is always appreciated.
Please consider translation for spanish community and expand users
The team of Illuvium did a great job. We're so far away that it's impossible to mess it up. Without effort and patience, good things never come
I hope Kieran and the team have recovered
Thanks for the AMA
Goodluck Kieran and team!
Multi player in Sanctum Mesa Will DELIVER A HUGE BOOST
It really will, it'll just make it feel more exciting at least
It's like someone who's never even laced up a pair of running shoes criticizing a marathon runner for not finishing faster. They have no idea the dedication, training, and effort it takes to even get to the starting line, let alone cross the finish.
I like this analogy, great take!
ty guys for the interview! #MILVGA
If you guys want to do a financial/gossip girl mma maybe have that be the specific topic where Sam can question everyone’s salary based on what he thinks it should be because it would be cool for those of us that actually play the game to talk about gameplay and roadmap.
Great interview, great questions and answers. Gets my hopes up a lot.
I am glad you enjoyed it mate
Was following this game from Day1 and super impressed so far with what’s been delivered. As a businessman, i dont know why Keiran agreed to this haha
Thanks so much for the video and information 👍🏽
Excellent podcast and much needed
I am glad it was helpful mate
I acctualy want ascendent mode great again! I love the Idea of it and the feel of it.
Yeah in gauntlet it's kinda hard to get many of the stage 3s on the board. Very different vibe to ascendant
We got this Illuvium fans! Trust! When my Crypto Start-Up launches.... Its launch will add a boost to Illuvium.... Trust! DONT GIVE UP ON ILLUVIUM!!!! IT IS EXALTED! Because I say it is.... Trust. 🦊
Is it possible to earn in Illuvium Zero's free-to-play mode?
Get this message to Kieran! Go to Hong Kong! Speak with the owners and devs of a game called "Mobile Legends Bang Bang".... That game has a track record of uphill battle in the gaming space.... Much can be learned from them.
I think it was a good AMA, Kieran still has that fire hehe
That fire will never go out!
It is genuinely a good idea from the Warwick brothers. You gotta be a weasel to talk about their family issues on google! If the idea doesn't work out, it's okay. But it's a fair dinkum attempt man!
I think being transparent is good, as long as it doesnt get continuously discussed. But Kieran answered it well
Sorry I wasnt calling you a weasel. I was refering to the guy who wrote a letter on google!
I think instead of just not doing season 3 airdrop let's turn it into arena leader board rewards
100% JB, even if its just for the data
Scoriox Illuviums superman! 🎉
Sam really came through on this one, couldnt have done it alone
What ever happened to andrew wall?? Did he leave the project or still working behind the scenes?
He left and started a media company
Unfortunately the recession hit every company. Andrew had to move on but will work with Illuvium in some capacity in the future I am sure
like listening to Alex Mashinsky in his glory days !!!
Dont know who that is but I love it
@@Scoriox no bro u dont , trust me.
I’m amazed this guy is still on vacation
Nobody can run better a business than someone who envisioned and built it from day1. Hire experts.
can't believe you didn't ask on Beyond at all
Townhall coming soon, let's bring it up
The team has stated multiple times its coming October
Kieren buddy please look after your health. I know first hand that affects behaviour sooo much. Nothing you dont already know. Just wish you well bud.
*Joe Rogan - Dont read on too much on internet comments. It'll fuck you right up 😂
Hahahah even I feel the comments thing :P
My friend Scoriox, Please, Timestamps, Please
Web3 gaming is incredibly exciting, and you'd think the Web3 community would understand that these developments take time. The game hasn't even been released for more than three months, yet some are already asking about the next big update. When the CEO of a company takes the time to answer questions, laughing is unprofessional and simply rude, especially when a significant portion of your content profits from that specific company.
Thank you for the content you provide, but please show more respect to your guest.
Will do erock I apologise
This interview left a sour taste in my mouth. I think you guys were too harsh on Kieran.
I think thats fair, I dont plan on doing this style a second time. But it somewhat needed to be done
What's the point of onboarding. If you can't retain it because the game is mind numbing. People literally force themselves to play in hopes of making money. No one is playing because it's fun.
Dam bots made every thing feel like toy give away from McDonald's Beanie Baby nfts 😅
sjud 20 iq
comment section is HEAVY with cope, Scoriox are you single handedly the main source of illuvium cope rn with ur channel and how are you morally ok with being that when theres no way u actually believe this shits going to work out, its a total mess... the writing is on the wall... sure kierans a great hype artist, hype ama's arent enough, delivering results are needed, kieran cant deliver SHIT
Pretty rude not to take time to make a proper intro at the beginning of the roast / you guys need to be more gracious and flow into the interview.
Stuart's blog post is considerably better feedback than this. If not for that, I'd probably be ditching, right now. Sadly, I feel like Kieran is still shooting from the hip much, much too much. "Agile" and "startup" are not excuses for not having more concrete goals. Heck, I feel like he had more of a vision or plan at least written on a scrap of paper somewhere a couple years ago than he does now. He seems fully in "reaction" mode, now, rather than driving things as a CEO. An hour in and payments is a top priority, but unmentioned the hour before? Come on, man. You are running a team of programmers and artists and creatives: The CEO needs to bring focus, and I saw very little focus in this AMA. Commitment? 100% S-Tier. Unquestionable. Focus? Not so much ...
it makes me curious have you ever run a business or led a team of programmers, artists, and creatives yourself? Managing a startup, especially in Web3 gaming?
@@erock1447 I've worked at several startups and led many teams (in both startup and Fortune 500 companies). I was the VP of Ops & Engineering for a VOIP startup from 2006-2009, and I had to give quarterly reports to the board. I was offered a VP of Infrastructure position at Riot Games in 2010, and it is a "what if" I think about, often. (At that time, they couldn't afford me; of course, in the clarity of hindsight, they would have been able to meet my salary needs pretty soon after. Also, I didn't want to move to Los Angeles.) So, yeah - I've done well for myself through the years. How do you think I could afford T3 & T4 lands?
Most developers and engineers want to deliver a perfect product. They don't like to compromise. This is a big reason why Agile exists: To force them into small, actually-deliverable bits instead of endless pie-in-the-sky perfection. It is the job of leadership to bring focus by prioritizing the infinite list of things to do in a startup. Steady iteration and evolution will beat shooting for the moon and "revolution" 999 times out of 1,000.
@@erock1447 I've run several teams over the years, both at startups and for Fortune 500 companies. I declined a job offer from Riot Games in 2010 (much regret - lol). Let's just say I've done plenty well for myself and picked up T3 and T4 lands. In a startup, everyone wears a dozen hats, and I can see Kieran does, as well. However: the point of LEADership is to help prioritize the infinite number of things "to do" such that the team puts their attention on things that actually get delivered. Otherwise, most developers or engineers will keep "polishing up" the thing they are working on until it is perfect in their eyes.
Gauntlet sucks. Sad to hear this is priority.
In case anyone cares, in as short as possible my opinion:
Releasing a game bit by bit, excluding people at the start and during the process, slowely let them in, is a terrible mistake. It's best then to have kept in only on Discord, make no commercials, promotions, hype etc just keep it very quiet on the background until the games are finished and then go all in and all out for the official release date. Nobody wants to be "late to the party" and ESPECIALLY not if money's involved!
Illuvium kind of stayed in the middle of letting the entire world be part of the evolution of the concept vs having a small privaty community acces the games and give feedback and ideas etc.
Arena and battle is too nerdy and complicated imo for the big public, too much of a learning curve. Some "nerd games" got popular but very, very few. Overworld is super boring and Zero is nice and good but nothing special, 12 in a dozen if you ask me.
Now the things that I am super positive about: The Illuvials themself, in general the graphic design and last but not least; the music is very very awesome!!!
I think the entire idea of Illuvium was and still is AWESOME! That's why I supported it for nearly 3 years. But imo, the execution is done poorly...
I am not saying I could have done it better, certainly not haha, but I checked out about 6 months ago and I have no regrets tbh...
Still I wish Illuvium as a project and community all the best and I hope it can be saved!
Dude says he has so much to do yet takes a 2 month break upon the release of his product?
Definitely not 2 months. I think he took 1 proper week off and maybe 1 kind of week off where he was promoting Illuvium at gamescom
Haters gonna hate
They really do I guess
