Hi, the best information about hypothyroidism, is to the point. I have been struggling with hypothyroidism since my first child was born and gained a lot of weight with each pregnancy, for 26 years, I have been on thyroid medication, last 8 years added high blood pressure, sleep apnea, high cholesterol, and still taking medication with all the symptoms. Nothing improves or changes. It's getting harder as I get older. No matter how hard I tried my weight was stuck. I am hopeless.
By listening to your channel I feel like there is hope 🙏. Thank you so so much.

If it helps, my situation was similar, so I started applying a whole plant based diet, fasting 12-13 hours, eating regularly, having well balanced meals, focusing on healing my gut, drinking green juices with lots of lemon, ginger, turmeric, teas and supplementing as advised, and have finally started losing weight consistently, my markers are improving and the Hashimoto's symptoms disappearing (hair loss l, fatigue, brain fog, joint pain, etc.). I highly recommend following functional medicine guidelines, I hope I will manage to get off Levothyroxine in the end too.

My TPO keeps increasing in the past 3 yrs and TSH also gradually reducing too even though I made some life style changes( diet most especially). Please consult your doctor about the dosage. Selenium can be really toxic/deadly and vitamin D3 has to be measured in blood before taking it as a supplement.

@@danielagentile8049 I believe there is a connection yes. My anti TPO was going up and after couple of months of taking supplements it started to drop.
I'm thinking about vitamin D3 being the problem. I had severe deficiency. Normal level was 85 and I had 26.
As you know vitamin D3 is immune system regulator so if I was deficient that much then I believe it could have something to do with Hashimoto's.
Also I have thyroid nodules that shrank.
Unfortunately I got stupid and stopped taking my supplements because I was moving places. Guess what happened? My vitamin D levels dropped and my anti bodies got up.
There has to be a connection.

The only thing my last GP was willing to test was T4 & TSH. Would not do extended panel, even though my history was that I had thyroid tumor, and prior to that goiter, and had been prescribed Synthroid years before, which had alleviated symptoms during the years that I took it. Symptoms gradually returned and more, after another Dr. discontinued my Thyroid medication. Terrible. I was diagnosed in my early 30’s. I am now in early 60’s, and GP’s don’t want to be chastised for ‘over’-testing, or ‘over’ prescribing, especially for a pt. over 60 (they don’t care if you live or die). Subsequently, I’ve been battling symptoms for decades now. It’s been a constant struggle to be at all productive, particularly in my personal time outside of work. I have taken early retirement due to this, which has been a financial loss.

I suffer from Hypothyroidism. i agree with a lot of things you said in your videos about the right diet. I eat a handful of nuts and seeds including walnuts. i also drink a spoon of cold pressed walnut oil and coconut oil before bed. I do want to ask you about millets. Ive read that millets can cause lower thyroid hormone levels. I too am consciously avoiding gluten as in any wheat product or white rice and have switched to millets in everything I make. I make millet roti's, khichdi, idli dosa upma ect. Will this diet cause more thyroid issues ? Secondly I was avoiding cruciferous vegetables and Soy products but here you have encouraged eating cabbage cauliflower ect. for hypothyroidism is it safe to eat these vegetables ?

Back in 2018, my Thyroid levels came out a little off on my annual physical, saw an endodoncronologist who said I had Hyperthyroidism graves disease that DID NOT need treatment but all thyroid tests T3 T4 Blood tests & ultrasounds have been in normal ranges and still are. Now new Endo did a new antibody for thyroid peroxidase test and found that I am at 165 out of 0-34 normal range and think I may have Hashimoto. But said it's nothing to worry about still , he's seen patients in the 1300s. I said well I don't want to get there so it needs treatment but nothing is being done.

Zinc work as cofactor for SOD & Deiodinase (that convert T3 to T4) mainly depending on selenium not zinc. It doesn't make sense when we say Zinc ensures the conversation of T4 to T3.. Correct me if i am wrong by sharing any authentic paper. That proves that zinc is involved in Thyroid hormone production except that H2O2 conversation i.e. antioxidant metabolism... Although im not saying zinc is not helpful... Definitely it is but that conversation part is really a confusion incase you may correct
