What was done to the truck/outside? Recovery winch, spares on the roof, CTIS, etc...
The music becomes rather annoying - yes, we know it is all very rugged and macho and such, don't need to rub it in with the generic stalwart rock guitar, especially when the narrator refuses to articulate to a point where it becomes hard to understand what he is attempting to say.
I was thinking the same thing. Let the vehicle speak for itself and don't try so hard. Also, did you get a good look at the interior? No? I thought so, I missed it too.

Great builds but so much wasted interior space taken up by the bed and diner. I can't understand why you wouldn't utilise the option of having the bed above the diner that can be lowered when required providing a further 3 sqm of interior space?

Nice but no point. MB are not releasing the new Zetros in Australia. They never really marketed the Zetros in Oz, which seems odd to me given our landscape and surely it would be a huge hit in the mining industry for low weight haulage?

KCT windows on the wall, Outbound on the roof and openings. Outbound is from Netherlands. KCT or Outbound or Hunerkopf from germany... and many more

Daniel Muscarella thanks Daniel! You are probably correct with this comment. We did not organise the CTIS system for this vehicle as it was aftermarket and organised by the customer. The factory system that we usually use for these new vehicles goes through the Diff to avoid this potential problem.

Am I correct in assuming that the composting toilet, lack of internal cooker (just oven) etc were customer choices and that a normal toilet and built in induction cook top would be an option?
Add to that 1.2 MIL the outrageous fuel consumption - assuming you really want to travel and not just show off at the local park or beach.

I got worried in the first 5 seconds of the video. The so called welder got off the weld without any post flow. That to me is an indication of bad workmanship.
Why would you ever get 6kw of inverter with a 1.3kw solar panel? You either are being ripped off or you have no idea how solar works. You need more panels! Not inverters!
They have like 8 kW of battery-storage on board (assuming it is a 12V system. Of course, they can deliver 6 kW peak power output (though I am pretty sure they are mostly running it on one inverter). That is not even 1C. 6 kW is beefy, but this is a beefy and costly thing. The Mercedes chassis alone is a couple of hundred thousand dollars. So while I can see someone drawing >3 kW in brief moments (if someone wants to run the AC, make coffee, cook dinner, running the washing machine etc all at once), I am pretty sure the inverters are doubled most for redundancy in the Gobi desert and such places these trucks go and there may be some distance to the next "inverter-shop".
The solar panels simply trickle feed the battery-bank. And I bet these batteries are supported by the engine or a gen-set if a lot of electricity is needed.
Anyhow, batteries will happily output 5C (which in this case means that in theory, one could draw peak 30 kW from them without technical issues if one so wished (being aware that one would discharge the bank in 10 minutes). Think about the Porsche Taycan. It has a 90 kW battery that will happily output 500 kW to the motors. Same same.
Remember that even a tiny RV with a 250W solar set-up will usually be designed with a 2 kW inverter if one has a lithium bank.
Hope this made something more clear.
@@glacieractivity Understand thanks for clearing out. You points are legit considering redundancy and that the inverter serves more as battery inverter to handle possible surge of 5C or 50 - 150A I guess. But still I think the solar can be designed better, I have 3 designs in my mind that I can triple the solar output with not much weight panelties.
1. Use more efficient modules that are commercially available their fabrication and efficieny is far better. 950W is solar with 5m2 is easily available as a stand along commercial products.
2. Changing designs. Like a folding mechanism to expose more surface area
3. Use micro inverters with a single phase inverter that is replaceable or even a hybrid inverter? Those are stand products in solar rooftop industry. Providing 10 year warranty and supply 5.5kw of power consistently.
4. Stop putting everything appliances you can possibly find at home into the car! I'm buy this shit because I want to get out of my home!
That's the essence of my 5 cents.
To add: current gen LG already has 48V voltage battery with 12.6kwh capacity available that is compatible with hybrid inverter system with 3.3kw out put when in standalone (off grid mode). Sorry to say buy the system in this car is using redundant technologies in solar industry from 10 years ago
Please. I would like to see an all electric 4x4 40 ft 6 weeler. Off rd preparedness for harsh weather fresh Recycled air water producer. Technology advances security protection. Sensors fully controls in and out of the mobile home. With airless wheels area for 4 weeler. Self driving if needed. And Drones detaches with inboard control systems for the Vehicle. Yes this is a future velhical I Thought of. All built by Mercedes! No STEAL MY IDEAS!!! This is the world be we live and will become....

When it is home based truck the prime location of the car is sleeping bed then others facilities. In fact every thing focus except sleeping bed only 1/3 show. Main things toilet bathroom and sleeping bed properly for your series of cars not only this but every cars. On the long tour every body want to lay as an ideal and gossiping.
Put AU in title so we don't waste our time viewing this if we DON'T reside in the AU. Also, annoying music and website needs work.

@@Singdollar Ever heard of solar panels? I know it might take a long time to charge but it beats having no fuel. Like I said, when the oil industry collapses, you will have no choice but to buy EVs. I'm sure they will have highly efficient solar panels by then.
