Like the above said, windy conditions, and they also wanted to ensure the Browns didn't expect a punt, to ensure they would have no chance of running it back.
@@sludge8506 That would never come up, except when the only kicker or punter is injured shotly before or during the game. It doesn't happen very often becuase they hardly ever take hits. It's also the reason kickers' careers can last into their 40s.
I don´t understand 1:20 Why was it a good move? Instead of kicking a field goal on 4th down, they just kicked the ball a little further, like a short punt. They missed out on 3 points, for what reason?
That would have been a 48 yarder, and that kicker was hitting a little worse than 2 out of 3 from beyond 40 yards in his career to that point; he'd never hit one beyond 55 yards. He missed a 46 yarder later in the game. Given that the Browns had only gained 4 and 13 yards on their previous two drives, I can see the thought process - pin 'em deep, three-and-out, and you maybe get a fresh set of downs and a short field to try for a TD instead of _maybe_ tying and then giving the Browns 4:30 to try to get the lead back from better field position. That said, at that range, I think you've gotta try for the three.
It is since its just a very broken in ball, but itd only really be noticeable to top level players. The average person almost certainly wouldn’t be able to tell a difference in how they feel Though another question that your question brought up that I can’t seem to find a conclusive answer to is “Can the faking team elect to use a regular ball instead of the K Ball?” I dont see any reason why they couldn’t and I highly doubt the Defense would be able to notice, only the long snapper and punter/kicker
I don't get the first one. #78 isn't an eligible number so he had to report. Unless they do it every single FG and PAT attempt, why would you fall for that?
It is common on FGs and PATs. By rule, the offense must have seven players on the line of scrimmage, and the outer two must be eligible receivers. For place kicks the common formation is a nine-man "line" with tight ends at the ends but set back off the line to handle edge rushing blockers, and seven linemen (or six linemen and a big tight end) on the line itself. So there's practically always at least one guy who has to report.
i like this compilation because it shows the ones that didn't make it either. good video
Holy crap Lutz got smoked... defenders must love crushing kickers
As someone whose mother's maiden name is Lutz, I found this comment funny
Lutz is like I ain't doing THAT again! 🤣
His parents died!
That is peak Sean Payton, oh I’m gonna show the Bucs what a frickin genius I am with a pointless trick play, oh no I got my kicker destroyed
🤨🤨
As a Packer fan, I distinctly remember the lions fake fg
Don't forget about the NFC championship vs the Seahawks
LOL lutz took a faceful of shoulder there.
I need a better angle of that Lion's play. How was he so wide open and seemingly never on the line?
Texans versus Browns I still don’t know how that’s a smart move
I think it was a really windy game. Still not super smart imo but yeah

@@Salomon_G"Why risk a field goal?" Because it's worth three points, that's why.
@@johnanderson9765 But a miss puts the opponent at like the 40 instead of the 3 yard line.
I feel like more kickers should know how to throw 🤷🏽♂️
Yeah, and quarterbacks should know how to kick. 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
@@sludge8506A fake field goal throw is possible but a fake pass field goal isn’t

@@mastick5106 Thanks for clarifying. I thought the wind was against them looking at this.
Riley Dixon for the Giants got a raw deal
Boswell is a respectable kicker.
i hope to see one of these in the sb
Fun Video! Thanks!

I wonder if it's harder to throw a pass with a kicking ball than the regular ball.

@@Christoph5782 I think the defense would see which ball they were using, unless they disguised it somehow, like going into the medical tent.

When you’re playing against the Cowboys, you either gotta have the right guy report eligible or be completely set before the ball is snapped.
they like to play games with me so ima play games with them back
1st one commentators ridiculous. Can't handle a field goal from 35 yards down 3 - GO HOME. Not brilliant.
