Great video, learned a lot. What I need to know however, is what size bungee cord to select for my application and what size hog ring fits on that? I need UV resistant bungee cords for a tarp over my RV. What thickness to get in both bungee and ring? OK, I see from comments your bungee cord is 1/4" diameter and hog rings are 1/4" rings. The tool is called Hog Ring Pliers. This manual hand tool is the only one to get for crimping around cord. The automated ones are too loose and meant for fencing.
Hello, I want to thank you for responding to me because it seems you posted this video a few years ago and I was not hoping for an answer. So thanks !!! By the way, I have another question and I'm hoping I could receive some advice. I am currently making my own bungee cords and they're about 3/16". What size for the hog rings would you suggest I should obtain?
YOU ROCK- Great 'how to' video! I may have missed it, but I didn't hear you say what the diameter of the shock cord was. Do you use the same size as the hog ring, 1/4"? I would guess one would use 3/16", since you fold the cord over? Please confirm. I'll probably find my answer through Google before you have the opportunity to answer, but is it common to find hog rings & pliers at Home Depot, Lowe's, etc?
Would you happen to know what kind of bungee cord is used on the Bellicon trampoline? The kind I bought is 100% stretch, but is there some that stretches more? It doesn't seem stretchy enough for a trampoline.
Great Demo. Useful for a multitude of applications, thanks for sharing and all the best 👍🏼

Pick a shock cord size and hog ring size that are the same and you should be fine.
Awesome ... I have used Hog Rings and the the Crimping Tool for fencing material in the past - reminds me I can use it for other marine purposes!
Hog Ring Pliers not crimping tool.
Where did you get your hog rings ?
You can get them here: www.sailrite.com/search?keywords=hog%20rings
+Sailrite thank you so much !!!!!

kmariebox1 Yes, use the same size hog ring as the shock cord rope size. 1/4" rope for 1/4" hog ring.
Awesome- thanks! :)
What size hog ring for 1/4" shock cord? Or for that matter how does one size the ring needed for a given diameter shock cord?
Match the hog ring size to the shock cord side. So for 1/4" get: www.sailrite.com/Hog-Rings-Shock-Cord-Clamps-1-4

Sorry, I have no idea.
