You have no idea how much you have helped me I have a 02 ninja 250 and the exhaust valves not opening I haven't taken the valve cover off yet but these vids really are going to help me the motor turns so I just hope its the chain that's damaged and not the valves, can shaft or the lobes as silly as that sounds
Glad my fumbling through things could help. lol. Good luck. Make sure you use: forums.Ninja250.org tons of technical info and you can bounce ideas off other 250 owners.
So I did the same thing, went step by step . I was so confident, it seemed like everything went perfect. Now bike just keep turning over till the battery dies. Any idea ?
If you have my kind of luck, it’ll be something super simple that was overlooked but takes a whole other tear down to fix. Were you just servicing the bike or did you have a break down you were repairing?
For anyone else who has this same problem, get some starting fluid from the autoparts store, and give it a couple squirts into the intake while cranking it. This will help you determine if it's fuel related and NOT timing related.
Oh man. It’s been a long time since I worked on this thing. If the pieces aren’t hiding in a puddle of oil in the top end, my first thought is that they could have fallen down by the chain. I had a magnet rigged up on a string to fish down into awkward places. Maybe you are very lucky and the pieces are just sitting in the oil pan. Maybe even caught by the oil filter screen?
