Once again you have helped me with another upgrade to my 2019 CB1000R! The first video of you installing the radiator guard (finally located one) but my guard had no installation hardware. I'm hoping that I just needed the special nuts to attach the guard as they have been ordered. I am now installing the accessory socket. My goal was creating my own plus version less heated grips as I live in Southern California desert and the winters are short and mild. I can't thank you enough for your videos as they have been very thorough and informative.

Hey you’re welcome, John. I had to hunt down the hardware too, as I bought mine from eBay and no hardware came with it. Good luck!

Hi,and thanks for that video. Does it have enough power to charge recent smartphone ?
We can see that it's 1A max

I have an iPhone 12, and it works with that, but I haven’t tried it on any newer models. I mainly use it to charge my helmet comm system. Sorry, I don’t have the definitive answer for you, but I believe it would charge the newer phones, just a bit slower.

@@3ftDeepChannel Thanks a lot for your answer. I use my phone (Samsung S10) as a GPS with the screen always on during the trip. It drains my S10 battery. So I hope that 1A is enough to keep, at least, my battery charged.

Thanks, Doug. I believe it’s the same one, but I would confirm with your dealer as this is an OEM part. Good luck.

Can't see a blanked accessory connector at the back of the light so I'm guessing it's been removed for some bizarre reaso

That would really be annoying. Stop by the dealer and chat with the service technician. Sometimes they’re very helpful. Good luck.

@@3ftDeepChannel sadly the mechanic didn't know is backside from his elbow re the connector location. had arranged for my local bike mechanic to wire it all up. Alas just tried to install the mounting plate and something has changed at the back of the light / TFT panel mounting so it simply doesn't fit. The TFT is mounted with just 3 bolts whereas yours has 4 ? I've not removed any of these bolts but the pitch of the USB mounting bracket matched the pitch of these bolts so could I use these bolts to mount the USB brackets it would then appear at the top of the TFT screen.
      Any thoughts

Hey Doug, I just looked up the part number for the accessory socket for your machine and it's exactly the same part number as for my 2019 bike. So the installation should be the same even though they changed the TFT screen and headlight. I can only suggest that if you haven't downloaded the instructions already, take a look at them at the following URL and maybe it'll give some clues as to what can be done. Good luck! cdn.powersports.honda.com/documentum/MW01/08U72-MKJ-D00.pdf

What country are you in? The Honda part number is in the Description & Comment section below the video (in TH-cam).
