      @@owenring Not at all uncommon for higher talented athletes that are running moderate to high mileage to actually need to do some work before the race to actually get warmed up. It's not uncommon for elite marathoners will do several miles of warmup prior to the gun going off, and these kids are elite. So, if they had been sitting on their butts leading into the race they probably would have been at least 30 seconds slower, or worse, gotten injured.

Yes, bekele could do other events and perhaps has better times but kipchoge isn’t focused on those events. Better runner to use is Jakob. He wants to prove to be the best in each event but holding the records for those events.
      Much easier to say your the goat when you have the hardest event world record being kipchoge. Forget the record go with his best known time and he is the only sub 2hr runner ever. The guy is crazy good. Other runners will get there because of bekele and kipchoge etc. we all know that the next generation gets to compare the past to the present and create and use technology to better train and recover etc. the whole mental process has been elevated. Reason I point out Nico is he had the talent and has continued to show it which proves a point. German ran by himself and was exhausted. Nice part is German set some nice standards for others to chase. Np whole program has elevated a whole team to the same standard. No excuse needed. Np has proven they are the best ever then to be be beaten by themselves again and again. Gotta love it when no scores 16 at state as a team. Many lost track of np lost season to Covid.
      Raced once out of state and crushed it. What we be an excuse turned into a reason to run fast. With Covid, it caused teams and runners to go for it as they didn’t know if they would ever race again for the year. Same happened in the pros. Less racing show cases fast times.
      Not sure what will happen with np with coach going to ucla but Stanford and nau looking really good. Byu somehow keeps reloading. Eyestone another crazy runner like German. Triple crown winner. Np makes no excuses. I’m more then happy to do it for all these runners.

    Gotta love total running productions. Past history you do have np with four individual state champions….however, six state individual titles were earned.
    Can you name the individual champions and how many titles they won?
    Gotta go back many years to 1990/1991 as np had a back to back champion then too.. one could argue np deserve a title for the Covid year where they ran one race out of state and set a national team time record. Give them state and nationals. Covid really hurt those groups as there was some good talent that moved on to college.
    Either way: you have Jeff Wilson x2, Nico Young x2, Colin Salhman, Lex Young.
    Still have to give credit to the coaching. Created the right culture and the rest was made fun by some great talent. Gotta love the Young’s and Salhmans….attitude is 😜

    4 State Meet Championships in a row is a California record, in Ohio Caldwell Boys did 8 in a row and Pennisula Woodridge did 5 in a Row for the boys. I know there are other states where more have been done. The wording makes it sound like it is a National record when it is a California record. It would be good to more explicit differentiate because I am sure they have some National records if they are even kept for High School Cross Country. I would like to know the site if they are?

    • @brentburnett6658
      @brentburnett6658 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good to know all this stuff for comparison. Just remember that California is much different population wise. To do what np has done makes them them the goat. They have the times as individuals and as a team and over multiple consecutive years. Can’t say it is just two families as the brosnans really have developed both men and women teams. No doubt having a family members that are athletic helps training wise. Still have to do it and np has proven they are the goats.
      Still think it is awesome to see any state produce champions in this sport. The dedication to make it happens is incredible.
