If you turn the book over to look at the blurb, the name of the cover artist might be right down at the bottom underneath or to the side of the isbn barcode, in a rather small text that is either black or white. Having a quick look at quite a few of my paperbacks, that seems to be the norm. If a book is a hardcover with a dust jacket, the cover artist is usually mentioned on the back flap of the dust jacket. It’s not something I’ve looked at or thought about quite deeply, but now you’ve pointed it out, the artists’ names should stand out a little more clearly so they can be credited and admired as designing a cover to match the themes or story of the book is a skill, and covers nowadays seem to be a lot more intricately designed than before.
