All the jacks at HF are good choices. Me personally i got the 3 ton low pro Pittsburg and its been nothing but great and ive lifted everything from low ass hondas to full size trucks. Great video Justin.
If I had to make the choice. I would have went for the 3 ton long reach low profile. Though the lowest height is marginal but sometimes just a half inch can make a difference. What I do like is the higher 24inches. Works real well with the 6 ton Jack stands. And when I am working on the ground under a vehicle. After spending several weeks reviewing the Pros and Cons on the Daytona 3-Ton Low Profile/Long Reach Jack and Daytona 4-Ton Jack and watching your video. I just picked up a Daytona 4-Ton jack in Blue for $199 at Harbor Freight. ($239 - $40 coupon). I like the fact that the Daytona 4-Ton also has ZERK fittings for the front wheels just like the 3-Ton Super Duty. Will be using this for my current Toyota Tundra and soon to be Ford F250 Turbo Diesel!!
I think this is an excellent choice and will fit a wide range as you have shown. Doesn’t this come with grease zerk too! Anyway. Good choice, good demo! I went with the 3 ton Pittsburgh Automotive lightweight 67 lbs vs 100 lbs Daytona 4 ton as I am twice as old as you and only work on my stuff. Not like I am going to be pushing the jack all over the place but if I need to load it up to take with me, every pound saved helps us senior citizens! Thanks for sharing!
You should have gotten the Daytona 3-ton, low-profile & extended reach for $25 more. It has the foot pump to quickly set the saddle on the frame rail, plus it gives you an added 4-inches of lift.
Yes , all the Harbor Freight Datona floor jacks will roll over zip ties that are laying on the floor. The front wheels on all Dayona floor jacks have curved wheels (inside of the front wheels to the outside of each front wheel]. Most all floor jacks don't have curved front wheels but have flat front wheels. Gregg Muse
If you are going to be lifting heavier duty trucks with it I'd get the 4 ton. For most people however, the 3 ton low profile long reach is the best option. Has the foot pedal for when you don't want to pump it by hand 24/7 and can reach good jacking points easier than the regular one, especially if your pinch welds are rotted away and you can't use them.
When you're in a tight spot I've come to find that it's actually safer to have a few pieces of wood that are large enough to put underneath the jack rather than on the jack itself. This is definitely far more stable but can still be a bit hairy
Great review! I've been debating which one to get for a few weeks now. I recommend checking the hydraulic fluid level and then bleeding the hydraulics to get the air out of the system. You'll most likely get a more lift travel with each pump. Air is compressible and no good for hydro systems.
Thanks for the videos. I was leaning towards the low profile long reach one until I saw this. For the time being I'm using the Pittsburgh low profile heavy duty. Works well. 2 and 7/8th to about 19 inches. Only paid 79 dollars with coupon last year
I really like my yellow Daytona 3-ton super-duty professional floor jack the past couple years and like seeing your comparison of them. Thanks for the video and exhibition!
@@abrahamestrada2206 I’ve had the yellow 3-ton for over 3 years and it’s featured in a number of my videos on my channel and it’s been a 💯 solid performer!

Great video, I have the long reach low profile and is great when you have to support rear differential, engine and trannny when changing motor mounts and need that extra reach under the vehicle, instead of crawling underneath the truck to find the jack.
Best one is the long reach jack that was 199 in the vid with the footpedal. Has a long reach and max height of 24 inches. Harbor freight had it on sale for 179.99 plus there was a 20$ off coupon .
i will be buying the long reach soon, i have the older pittsburgh 2 ton long reach been a great jack, 4 inches is 4 inches i have lifted junk and i need all the height i can get.
Have you examined these to see if you can find a quality difference in design, thickness of sheet, wheels, etc.? Or is there just a slight size difference and capacity? Great demo!
I bought my current jack almost 40 years ago before there were Harbor Freight stores, from a store that sold imported tools. It's a Chinese heavy duty jack, & just needs new seals. It's done everything ive asked of it over the years. But the identification label is long gone, and finding the right seal kit near impossible. I paid $55, which, adjusted for inflation is around $150. So the 3 ton on sale looks like the best fit for my needs. Nothing I own weighs 8000 lbs. Because they're low profile, a wood block can be usually be added, giving the jack extra lift distance.
Hey Justin, my names Gregg. Just finished watching your video on you deciding to purchase your Harbor Freight 4ton extrem green Daytona floor jack. You ask the question, if we thought you chose the right floor jack. Really just a couple of 3 things that you need to consider when making that decision. #1: Cost How much can you afford to spend on a floor jack? #2: What is your intended use for this new floor jack? Are you going to be working on just your 2 car & that's all? Or are you doing side jobs @ night & on weekends? Or are you taking it to a full blown garage. Also what type vehicles are you going to be lifting (low ground clearance vehicles, pickup truck, 4x4's)? #3: Last but not least, warranty. I could be mistaken but I believe 1yr is the longest warranty any of the Daytona floor jacks have except for the YELLOW Daytona Supper Duty 3ton floor jack which has a 3yr warranty. That's the same jack that Snap-on tried taking them to court on copyright infringement. Snap-on didn't win. Thank you for your channel. Gregg Muse
Reminds me when I was young and dumb. Worked at a tire store that had the singe post in ground Rotary lifts. In order do lift a full size dodge van without the center post hitting the drive shaft we would use a 4x4 about 6 inches long on each side of the rear. Looking back lifting those without proper truck adapters was really dumb. I thank the Good Lord that He watched over me!
Nice jack! I picked up the low profile 3 ton model with the 20" lift a little bit ago and freakin love the thing. I used to have to do the 2X4 on my trolley jack like you talked about to get my big ol Durango off the ground. The Daytona lifts it higher than I even need to go with ease. I don't know why anybody would be disappointed with these jacks.
Nice video brother, you should have gotten the one with the foot pump, makes it easier to start and way faster too, but it's still a badass floor Jack, you take care and its Beer friday.....!
The 4 ton is now the same price as the 3 ton low profile long reach, making the 3 ton low profile long reach the obvious choice. Or better yet, save $60 and just get the 3 ton low profile. While the long reach might seem insignificant, it does allow the jack to go higher, which is important for many. No more using wood blocks to get that extra height. And check out the Pittsburgh branded jacks, which are practically identical to these new multi colored daytonas for less coin
Great topic, I do need to purchase a floor jack soon. I had been wanting a green one to match my green tool cart but the Daytona green looks different/brighter than the US General green. I need to re-think my life now.
Actually it's 90 days. Most everything there is 90 days. Except for most hand tools which are lifetime. And of course the yellow super duty Daytona which is three.
My Craftsman 2T floor jack I got back in ‘96 finally broke. I had to get a new one so I got the green NASCAR 3T jack. I hope it’s good. The Craftsman one was great for my Ford Taurus back when I bought it but not high enough for my 2 classic Mercedes or the Nissan Frontier. I’m hoping the green one will lift high enough.
I have a quick jack that I bought from Harbor Freight with the quick pedal in the back. It does meet the frame quicker, however because of the lift rate, it is hard to jack up if you are lifting a heavier vehicle. I don’t see that jack offered anything from Harbor Freight. For smaller cars it’s great, not so much for full size cars, or trucks. The jack that you’re showing looks to be better than the one that I purchased, for heavier vehicles.
@@JustinDowDIYcentralhighway Thanks. I usually set the Jack at the welds but maybe I’ll start jacking from a different spot so the stands can go where the pinch welds are. Thanks for a great video with energy and isn’t boring like many others.
Which one would you recommend for a DIYer doing routine maintenance like rotating the tires and oil changes? I am still bummed you're not a neighbor😍😀 Thanks Justin once again for sharing your thoughts and videos, Rodney
What value could we place on the super-duty? I’m shopping now, and wondering if super duty might translate to better quality (less chance of it breaking down)? Or do floor jacks tend to be trouble free anyway, so super duty would be meaningless outside of a busy shop? One of the things I hate about my old jack is when you try to lower it down onto the jackstands, it always comes crashing down (there is no slow).
Just bought a 4-ton after watching this video and the other one on Daytona floor jack. I think the 4-ton is a better value as you said it. I got 6 lbs truck and 6 lbs travel trailer. The 4-ton works better. The 3-ton is too light for me.
Like the enthousiasm and recognize the efforts. Question: Why not buy the "Racing" [aluminum] version? 3ton seems to be close to the same $ as the 4T steel version and 40 pounds lighter. I would think anyone with anything less than a 1ton could go with the 3 or 2.5 easily.
Nope. Pinch weld should hold up and it's under the car where you'll never see it so if it gets a little scratched or dented oh well. nature of the game. Not going to see it anyway. Cheers!
If it’s designed to be the lift point for the vehicle then the pinch weld will usually hold it. Now if the pinch weld is completely rotted out (Chevy Venture & Nissan Sentra) come to mind you have bigger issues like your car folding in half if you get hit hard.
I know this video is older and I know people are talking about inflation but as of right now, at least in my area this jack right here it’s on sale for $169 with a coupon! Originally $240! So go out and go get one while you can!
I used this many times on my 2020 ram 3500 dually…. Works great. Bought a second one because…. Well you know. How many “whatever” do you need? Just one more😜
the yellow 3 ton is a best jack rated by project farm the larger wheels make jack work much better. also has grease fittings on wheels and all the pivot points
I recommend putting Harbor Freight Coupons App on your phone, it's 3rd party, NOT the official HF APP.. every coupon in US updated constantly, "add to cart" all the coupons you want including your free item, they scan your phone, never cut a coupon again! (I'm not affiliated lol)
I wonder if these jacks require a bleed before use? Years ago I got the Craftsman aluminum low profile jack and many people complained it failed soon after out of box. It seemed that a bleed upon arrival was basically a requirement or the seals went out. It seems that most new jacks do not seem to require this.
@@prairiefarmer5994 I forgot to mention that, I did not bleed it either. After about 3 years I did due to what I heard, but no issues. Mine goes back almost 15 years, so there is good chance we have different jacks.
Did you add hydraulic fluid? if not, the reservoir is probably mostly empty making the rapid pumping not as effective as it should be. It was clear that your pumping action range was very limited.
I'm trying to find a jack that's efficient for me also. I have an 02 Trailblazer which I'm going to do a brake job on in the springtime. Years ago I had a jack where if you pump it up one time and it shot up until it hits something solid than jack it up as usual. I think it was called daytona racing jack. I found it at Sam's club. I would love to find something like the ease of that one.
Nothing wrong with the Pittsburgh's I've got a pair here at the house & I have a pair of Durlast under a Honda Civic which has been under it for almost 2 years it feels like. lol
How about them recalls on the the Pittsburgh jacks? I'm not convinced they fail, I think its mainly operator error. Either way I bought a pair of jack stands from Napa for $26
For a corner. 3 and 4 ton jacks should breeze through most things. The yellow jack is superior because its hydraulic systems are much better. Meaning it will hold your shit up for a week with no drop. These other jacks wont do that.
Damn yo, inflation really hit hard. Can’t believe these were that cheap only 3 years ago.

Pintch welds that run along the seem of the body. sometimes you might see a hard plastic piece under Neath. That's a good spot too
@@JustinDowDIYcentralhighway Thanks. I usually set the Jack at the welds but maybe I’ll start jacking from a different spot so the stands can go where the pinch welds are. Thanks for a great video with energy and isn’t boring like many others.
I ended getting the long reach for 199 could not use coupons, looks like a good jack, but you need a jack to lift this jack up, real heavy
I just wrestled with one today. Got it into my car but it wasn't easy with a rolling shopping cart
I just bought a 1.5 ton pittsburgh, I hope it holds up better than the jack stands lol
Which one would you recommend for a DIYer doing routine maintenance like rotating the tires and oil changes? I am still bummed you're not a neighbor😍😀 Thanks Justin once again for sharing your thoughts and videos, Rodney
Rodney Widger I’d recommend the same one in this video. It’s overall perfect for most anything you’ll run into car, SUV, or Truck 👍
What's a good jack for a beginner? Just for oil changes and brakes.
(2012 VW New Beetle)
Thanks
Just bought a 4-ton after watching this video and the other one on Daytona floor jack. I think the 4-ton is a better value as you said it. I got 6 lbs truck and 6 lbs travel trailer. The 4-ton works better. The 3-ton is too light for me.
Like the enthousiasm and recognize the efforts. Question: Why not buy the "Racing" [aluminum] version? 3ton seems to be close to the same $ as the 4T steel version and 40 pounds lighter. I would think anyone with anything less than a 1ton could go with the 3 or 2.5 easily.
What do you do when you jack at the pinch weld? Use a special slotted pad?
Wha jack stands do you use?
I like this guy humor.
Just one more😜
Just got a super duty 3ton ... Came with 3yr warranty
How heavy is this? Im looking for A jack I can keep in my truck for emergency's like flat tires.
It’s about 104 pounds looking at the specifications from Harbor freight, she’s definitely a heavy one!
Thought you purchased the Black one? What about going from the front of the car?
the yellow 3 ton is a best jack rated by project farm the larger wheels make jack work much better. also has grease fittings on wheels and all the pivot points
I can’t find that app but thanks for the advice
What would you recommend for 1997 dodge ram 2500 because its naturally taller then most trucks
The 3 ton low profile long reach has a foot pedal and the Daytona 3 ton yellow jack has a 3yr warranty that comes with it.
Which jack would be easier and safe to lift my 2004 Vette?
The lowest low profile jack.. and the wider the jack and larger the wheels the more stabil.
Beautiful jacks that I wouldn't even want to put them to work cause they'll get scratched.
i need low profile my Buick is low in the front so this will help make a decision
Pittsburgh 3 ton low profile / rapid pump for me. Got it on liquidation for 95.00. It’s just as good
Do you know where you can locate serial number
crazy how now are quite more expensive
I wonder if these jacks require a bleed before use? Years ago I got the Craftsman aluminum low profile jack and many people complained it failed soon after out of box. It seemed that a bleed upon arrival was basically a requirement or the seals went out. It seems that most new jacks do not seem to require this.
Bought mine a couple years ago and never bled it. Never had any issues.
I could be wrong but don’t you have to bleed the hydraulics when you buy one of those. Just a thought. Thanks for making the video.
milkcrate919 I heard no with the new ones
I've wanted that one for a while
The lack of grease fittings was a deal breaker. Had to go the model up
The 4 ton does have grease fittings.
How much does it weigh
Thx for doing this review. Iam looking for a jack. On the used Jack's, what can one look for to check if it's ok. Any recommendations on jack stands
Nothing wrong with the Pittsburgh's I've got a pair here at the house & I have a pair of Durlast under a Honda Civic which has been under it for almost 2 years it feels like. lol
I picked up a nice set at the good ole harbor freight 6 ton....with coupon...40 dollars. Great comfort while working on the van.
I think it has a proper warranty as well not just the Hf 90 days
I got the 3 ton for my Camaro SS, things great.....
did that come w/ fluid already in it?
“You know what, ignore I told you about the wood thing.”
😆
