As an owner of a 1960 BSA 650 may I say your bike looks and sounds great helped by all the mods you've made. Hope you get out on it more this year and enjoy the rides.
Thanks, I was trying to achieve the old look and sound, and am happy with it all. Don't know if you've watched my other video, but I've got a 1970 650 thunderbolt and the sound is sweet. I think in summer, I'm going to do a comparison, old and new, 0 to 60 , sound, handling etc, Should be interesting 👍
Had the same problem with my light staying on, took it to my local dealer he switched the engine on let it run for a short time switched it off said let it renew itself then started it up and the light never come on again. He said it doesn't need a software update and it's never happened again. No other worries and I've had mine a year also.
I'm not sure now if it's because I'm starting it before light goes out, after a bit, lazyness creeps in and I just turn it on and press the button, I'll have to be more aware of my starting actions 👍
Hi, I just purchased a cheap handlebar clock off eBay. Item number...175640162138 It was £8.96 delivered to UK Then I just prised the clock out of the housing, you have to do this anyway when replacing battery. the clock comes with a rubber seal around it. So stuck the whole inner clock to headlight with a bit of numberplate double sided tape from Halfords. Might include this info in my next video, thanks for mentioning it 👍
It was quite annoying at first when the EML light kept coming on, but, fingers crossed, it's not been back on for a while now I follow the correct procedure 🫣😄👍
Hi, Though the technique worked for me, it is back (the EML) in just couple of days. I was driving in 2nd or 3rd gear in a traffic road and it turned on. Does it turn on if we are driving in a gear that's matching the speed at which the vehicle is going ? Your inputs / suggestions are much appreciated. I am from India and have purchased the bike just few weeks back. It's launched in India a month ago.
Mines never come on again. Think the problem was, I was pressing the starter button before the ECU is ready. So, if you do this every time, you may cure it. 1, Turn ignition on. 2, Wait for clock's to fully rotate. 3, wait for EML light to go off. 4, press starter button continuously until it starts. It's worked for me every time now👍 Good luck.
Meaning no disrespect, one thousand miles is minimal and cannot fully represent a quality assessment,I’ve done in the last year twenty thousand kilometres in all conditions in twelve months,I’m glad you like the bike but ride it more, ride safe🏴🇫🇷
I should ride it more, but I have more than one bike to ride , so it can get a little neglected 😊. I'm on 2000 miles Now in 20 months, and, up to now, the EML light has stayed off now I use the correct recommended start up procedure. But, unfortunately, I am still getting the cutting out issues that I have highlighted on my other videos, even though I've had the BSA recall health check and latest no 3 ECU reflash. Still love the bike though 👍
Mine came on twice when new. Reset as you did. Not come on since. Not Wait for eml to go out may have been my problem. Tells you in manual but who reads the start the bike bit 😂
Yes, I'm thinking it's not waiting for the light to go out maybe is the problem. You forget to wait sometimes when your concentrating on other things, and just press the button.🫣👍
@@awesomeappleby5923 Usually on 2 or 3 sec after sweep finishes. Just fitted tec baffle. Quite pleased as only very slightly more pop off silencer. Don.t want it being really loud. Only £18 so nowt lost 👍
Let's be honest, it is a BSA in name only, the current plethora of "motorbikes" oozing from the Indian sub-continent have no connection whatsoever to the heritage of a once great British manufacturer. In the UK these examples of cachu appear to be aimed at the old timers trying to jump on the heritage bandwagon and relive their youth oogling at bikes bike they could never afford at the time. It will all ends in tears. If a BSA badge was stuck on a donkey's backside it will still be an donkey......eeh awh!
Agreed, I only purchased it because of the famous name BSA, but to be fair, unlike all the other Indian bikes, this one was designed here in England by real English designers and with the help of BSA owners club BSAOC to get it nostalgically close to the original, think they achieved that , that's why I purchased one I suppose.👍
Yes, the niggles are annoying sometimes, but, to be fair, BSA are now calling bikes back for a health check and now amending all the problems. I can highly recommend this bike to you if you're still feeling unsure. All new models have the upgrades already done to fix all niggles now.👍
I've been out in all weathers in the last year, even with salt on the road, but I just hose it down when I get back if it's bad, if not, I leave it until I next go out which could be a month later. Still looking good though, very pleased.
Great looking bike, we are lucky to have these modern classics .Avoid using fairy liquid tho mate, its got salt in it.
Thanks. I know I shouldn't, but old habits die hard, have to get the missus to treat me to the proper stuff 🫣👍
Fantastic! Tried your remedy AND IT WORKED, brilliant.
That's great news, mines stayed off now I wait for the EML light to go off before I press the starter button 👍

I like he bike a lot and it has a connection to my bike, a 2001 F650 Gs BMW... The. 650- cc Rotax single cylinder motor!
Thanks , think it's the same engine 👍

Happy days, sometimes it can be so frustrating 🇬🇧🏍🙂👍
It's been playing with my patients for a year, then just when I go to fix it, it turns itself off 🥴 I'm sure it it's alive 😁👍
top job AA, love the drop bars.
Cheers, it feels amazing the ride with them fitted 👍
bars look good
Thanks, I may change them for clip ons one day.👍
have you installed a watch on the headlight? Can you make a video on that please? Looks great

What a rigmarole. I am so glad I didn't get one of these things.

Thanks much, it worked and it has been a week or more now and the issue hasn't recurred.
Thanks much again.

@timparry5028 😆👍
It’s a fine looking bike. Those niggles have obviously put a few purchasers off. I am on the fence myself.

Today's motorcycles are a collection of government regulations on 2 wheels.
Agree, too much interfering for no real reason 😞👍
Try part exing it👎🏻.
Sadly, not many are taking them in part chop 😢,
but, BSA have now done the latest flash upgrade to the ECU and up to now , all is great again 👍
Try part exing anything, may as well give it away! Only buy if you intend to keep.
Agreed 👍 @@malcolmhargreaves2354
