you described all my thoughts about XG300. It feels like Sony isn't comparing its speakers to the competition, or Sony has its own vision on portable speakers sound that only Sony fans will love. I really wanted the new speaker to be like the XB43, but better in every way.
I have been a Sony fan for the longest time and I really wanted to like the XG300 I was so disappointed and sent it back I replaced it with the boombox 3 and I'm hoping to get the extreme 3 for Christmas. So far I'm very happy with JBL and they in my opinion have outdone Sony

I was surprised by the result as I expect the JBL to be in the L but it turned out to be the XB43 .. I guess XB43 is really a good sounding .. also the Xtreme 3 really has those sharp highs not detailed which I don't like.
I own both XB33 and XB43 ,i usually pair both for a better sound, however i think the 43 sounds better just because of the extra bass, but then I find myself using the 33 more on the regular ,it's really subjective.
It;s funny how we chosed based on our own speakers and the manufacture default eq :)) .. in reality all speakers can be EQ tunned to sound close to another. But, what money actually buy are the battery, design, volume and the brand itself. :)
The XB43 is almost neck n neck with the Legendary JBL ex3 definitely both have great sound quality without a slight of a doubt❤️.However, may I wish the 'muffled' XG300 better luck next year💔!!!
XG300 apparently has a very different sound signature than those other two. It sounds a bit hollow but with a wider soundstage which probably makes it a uniquely sounding speaker but not necessarily a bad sounding one..!
Just commented, I thought L sounded the best so +1 for L and I knew X was the JBL and also sounds good. super disappointed with the XG because they absolutely nailed the design!
I just got my hands on the 300 and I have to say it's actually not that badefinitely used the regular EQ and you can for sure make it sound better! mega bass is d*** near useless! I seriously digging the design aswell. Heck I think it sounds a small bit better then the 43. It's definitely warm but not muffled but definitely not bright it's still fair sounding! And the fact that I payed 150 for it just makes it even better!
I mean it's a true thing for all speakers, but especially with Sony. If you understand how to use an EQ you can make it better than anything else. Minus sound travel range

XB43 sounds complete, XB300 has more boom but its muffled and I gonna pick the JBL for clearness and audio quality but I felt it has something less to offer. I wish JBL add 10-20 more Watts on Xtreme3 for better performance just like Charge5 and flip6 are killers.
Hi i love your channel. I have the jbl xtreme 3 for just 1 year and 9 months, and 5 days ago it stopped working at all right during the firmware update process. Jbl wont help me, they gave a me a discount code to buy another one! Lol. im sure the firmware did something weird to the mother board or who knows. The thing is i dont feel comfortable buying a jbl product ever again. I took excellent care of my jbl xtreme 3 and lasted not even 2 years, being killed by its own software update.
The jbl support team denied this fact. They said that firmware updates cannot harm the battery. I never said it was a battery problem, my jbl does power on but its like a zombie. The thing is i am done with jbl. So im searching other options like sony or bose. Any other brand that is good and similar to xtreme 3?

Jbl > xb43 > xg300 I think the best bang for buck as of right now is the xb43. You can find it used or refurb for around $100 and it sounds better then it’s successor (xg300) with better looking light show. JBL are pioneers when it comes to portable Bluetooth speakers so you can never go wrong by going with them.

I own the Xb43 and i love it, but i know its flaws and know that Xtreme 3 got more sub bass and loudness and way more better in outdoor. I can’t understand how Sony spend 2 years to make the worst speaker in sound in this price bracket. They got all the other aspects right but if it doesn’t sounds good, there’s no worth, obvious. Looks like the XV900 will be a killer in big speaker category.
These are fake not real , try to understand jbl boosting treble and upper mids for which lower mids and vocals get narrow and no proper bass response. Yes Sony has little more bass but most importantly vocals are close to natural and have weight. Sony sounds flat and a bit warmer which actually better for real time music experience and also Sony balancing between all frequencies not get artificially loud. Yes my 14 years experience never fails. They three are not proper but still if you hear audiophile natural sound then xb43 is better following xg 300 the jbl extreme 3 which is artificially loud sounding speaker and not for audiophile’s choice.
Bought an Xtreme 2 and Xg300 and was so disappointed in the xg300. Its not clear. Xtreme 2 you can easily hearthe difference in clearity. I loved my old XB from Sony I purchased the xg thinking id get a similar sound. I saw rtings had Xtreme 2 over 3 and its also on sale for a much cheaper price than the 3 so im extremely happy with my Xtreme 2. Might get a second later for pairing.

I just don't get it lol I own a JBL boom box gen 1 ..2 xb33s ..a bumpbox ultra and a studibaker master blaster I bought a xg300 a few days ago got the update day 1 and let me say omg I absolutely love the xg300 i don't understand how anyone wouldn't like it it's got great bass and a eq that u can set to your liking ...I love mine it's my fav bt speaker and that handle dang it's sweet 😅
Firstly accept this fact sony keep the eq much flatter where jbl is v band but doesn’t lack when tweaking sony eq you can get good sound my uncle gifted me a sony xb23 which costs in India about 8990 do your conversion I was disappointed the started to break in and liking the speaker the option to eq to kill bass for battery saving known as stamina mode

Sony xg300 sounded more flat to me, the other two made my warm sounding headphones to sound more clear by force. in my country XG300 is 199e, while JBL Xtreme is 350e and from what i see from rting: Sony SRS-XG300: Sound accuracy 6.8/10 | 7.1/10 Sound stage JBL Xtreme 3: Sound accuracy 6.5/10 | 7.2/10 Sound stage Sony has lower bluetooth letancy and better app maybe people just got used to JBL sound signature or they love the extra clarity even if its not as accurate. and btw the sony goes deep 54Hz, jbl is at 55Hz on bass they are close. those are just theory, i don't heave any of them 200e vs 350e... JBL pricing is on another category JBL Charge 5 is at 157-160, that means that the sony is near charge 5 more than the xtreme 3
XB43 still lacks lower bass extension and it's more about mid bass which bleeds into the vocals and makes it sound muddy I don't think I would buy ut over the Xtreme 3 if the two were my only option.
My favourite one was x but then again i’m a jbl fan boy who’s bought every partyboost jbl but without knowing which was which X was my favourite L was second and D was last so pretty much the same as everyone else

maybe it is just the standard sound mode which sounds lame? For some reason Sony always messes up the default EQ settings, but with some EQ adjustement they sound much better.

但是我還是覺得XB43比較優等。。。
例如：每段音樂的呈現音質分別為ABC 3種聲音合成
JBL的喇叭音質也很好聽。。但就是無法把ABC 3種聲音各自呈現的很舒服。。聽起來感覺就是很直接的演奏出來而已
XB43所呈現的感受就是可以聽出細緻的差異。讓人一聽到音樂演奏。就可以欣賞到XB43把音質的A.B.C.是分別呈現出來的。是可以分別出一首音樂的層次。。再者加上兩台喇叭價錢差異太大。。
XB43實在是一台質量好價錢便宜的喇叭。。
無論價錢怎樣。我還是會選SONY_XB43。。

XB43 still lacks lower bass extension and it's more about mid bass which bleeds into the vocals and makes it sound muddy I don't think I would buy ut over the Xtreme 3 if the two were my only option.

From my meow Bluetooth headphones D was with the eq on max base, between l and x , x sounded better.

Ok so who needs a hearing test cause that Xb43 sounded way better than the other 2. Sorry JBL fanboys and girls but that JBL highs are too damn sharp and hard. And the XG300 just sounded like trash period. Too bad I can’t find an XB43 anywhere anymore 😩

maybe it is just the standard sound mode which sounds lame? For some reason Sony always messes up the default EQ settings, but with some EQ adjustement they sound much better.
