Used my new marlin spike today to undo a pretty knarly arbor knot. This is the most well-made spike I have seen, by anyone. You sir, are a blessing and I appreciate your attention to detail and you for generously sharing your wealth of knowledge. One of the finest teachers I've ever had the pleasure of learning from. THANK YOU.
Just got my Marlin Spike in today and was so excited to dive right into tieing the Turk's head. As I was tightening the knot up and apparently with my ineptitude I had one small loop about 3/8 inch in diameter that I could not seem to get the slack pulled out despite pulling in every direction. The rest of the Turk's head was seemingly perfect and everything was tight. So I began to consider starting over and re-tieing it when I realized, I like that little loop as it provides for an attachment point for a small carabiner which would allow me to clip the Marlin Spike to a gig bag or belt loop. Since I got two of these, I will need to see if I can repeat my "mistake" on that one as well.
Just got my marlinspike today! I guess I'll need to buy another marlinspike to tuck the cut ends in! 😂. Thanks for the video & all the content you create for us!
Got my marlinspike last night - it feels and looks like a high quality product. Just got my turks head on it and enjoyed your tutorial. You're awesome - keep doing what you're doing!
Also just two quick questions: 1)Do you have any variations to the turks head I.e. ones that will let you incorporate the tail on both ends into a handle or a paracord emergency supply? Thought that would be neat. 2)Do you have anyway to ship your products to Canada? I see you even are on Amazon but I had to order this to my family's house in the USA to get one and I wanted to get your product specifically to a)support you because I like what you do and b)think your products are higher quality. I would like to get one of your leather sheaths but not sure how to get one to Canada and won't be back in the USA for at least a year.
Glad to support the channel. The irony when tying the Turk's head is that one realizes how helpful a marlinspike would be. Protip for everyone in the same boat: I used a nail.
Took me a couple attempts, got it good and tight on the second one. I don't think it's as perfect as yours, but it is mine, and it's a helluva tool. Fantastic craftsmanship.
I find using a fid on one end helps in threading the cord instead of having a soft floppy end to try and push through and allows you to keep the knot tighter as you work with it.
I had no way to make a marlin spike.. but use a wooden one a lot.. i just picked up a big nail and added this Turks head to it.. thanks a ton❤ .. don't know how to add a pic to this..but maybe on my insta :)
Who could say this is knot the best channel for tying knots? 👍👍👍

Clear and easy to follow. Nice job.
Got mine yesterday. Now to untie some knots.

Really nice quality Marlin spike, and crystal knot tie vid! I did a double fisherman at the end to make it clipable.
Would love to see some uses for the Marlin Spike. There's got to be some hidden gems.
Yaaaasss! I have been trying go get this from the other video. Thank you! This cleared it up!
My phone eves drops on me i swear i was talking to someone about knot tieing and my inability the other day and suddenly this... Wtf
