- G2's Niko and Navi's S1mple played each other in the final. S1mple came out with the major MVP, but maybe Niko deserved it more. I'll break down how unreal niko's performance at this major was, and make the case that he may have been the most impactful player at CS:GO's PGL Stockholm Major.

Niko's aim in this major was really something else, his mouse control was absolutely insane, despite all the pressure he was so deeply immersed into the game on an ultimate flow state i've never seen before, despite the deagle fail which can happen to anyone, I think he was the best aimer in this major.

yes he was s1mple confident against NIP when he got 19:3 if I remember right. But it was his game, his team : I think he was leading team this game as well (at least 80% g2 were rotating right and had 3b vs 4-5ts or 4a).
BUT b1t is basically newbie (1st LAN, 2nd year with NAVI) with more then 71.5% hs (he almost had beaten record on major 74% and in semi or quarter final had more then 74%)
so for me NIKO was ''turned ON'' now or never thing, but b1t was major best aimer.
I felt so sorry for Niko while watching the major final. It really felt as if he was having to drag his team through the whole series. So many situations were left to him to make magic happen, while his team were asleep.
I think it was Lewis who said "NiKo was carrying G2's lifeless corpse all the way to the final" and he is right. G2 would be nothing without NiKo
and what's even more sad is that everyone is trolling him after the deagle fail, even though he was the best player in the major
The only person on g2 who “carried their weight” was jackz
Jackz and Hunter actually had a greater impact during the finals Nuke CT side, which made up most of their dominant rounds. NiKo fans really be quite biased (and dismissive) of the teammates’ efforts
@@sfqm1083 I agree 100%, jackz and huNter we're really left out of the conversation. They had decent impact and held their own against the best form of NaVi that has ever existed. Not entirely sure about their lan experience, but once they get more experience under that type of immense pressure they can absolutely become the lan shark that niKo is. Amanek and nexa are still up in the air for me but that Amanek 3K was unforgettable

@Jaxon Siemers The 1v1 between b1t and hunter happened basically at the same time, both were engaging that fight anyway. So it would be a 1v1 with niko having no armor and just a deagle while the bomb was planted for hunter, hunter had also armor, a kit, an m4 and 20 seconds left to defuse. So it would very likely a win for b1t anyway.

@@funnie175 Your point is good but keep in mind that we talk about the best of the best. They are not random people who can't handle pressure and failure. When we both miss a shot we may be annoyed or have no convidence for the rest of the game but someome like Niko will forget that few seconds after the miss.

Current G2 is like former navi everything is dependent on niko , he is carrying huge pressure man . Navi isn't one man show anymore b1t is an insane rifler , a walking headshot machine . Electronic has lot of experience and really good rifler too and we have seen how good boom14 plays in clutch situations and perfecto is insane too . G2 doesn't have a reliable awper , nexa calling for last minute rotations and commits (which only works for navi ) is ruining it , Jackz is pretty good rifler but does some dumb shit from time to time

More like this is every single team that has had Niko. Its usually a team that is in top 10 and they think if they add niko they will be #1. Well that isn't how it works. You need at least 2 niko's to do this, and hunter just didn't cut it. Simple has Electronic. Niko has no one.

Agree...the most overlooked fact is how much Boombich-their weakest link has improved over the last 4-5 months. In addition to being igl, providing info, changing the pace of the game, he's become their 5th fragger. Compare him to the weakest link in any other team and that's where the biggest difference is...not between S1mple vs Zywoo or Niko.

Obv Niko had that fail with the deagle, but even on Nuke he had so much impact. Constantly pressuring in yard and getting the entry oftentimes. He carried his team to the final.
though imo he didnt perform anywhere near his best level in the final. He was much better till the semis
@@iamguyfawkes1474 Yeah imo NiKo actually underperformed in the finals when compared to his match against Heroic. Luckily JaCkz played well in Nuke, and it was their map to lose. Real unlucky with the JaCkz hut drop and NiKo whiff.

This proves that no matter how good you are, people will try to find the one failing moment and focus on that.. Niko actually was much better in the major and thanks Voo for calling it out...

When in NAVI there were trio: s1mple,b1t, electronic + 2 dudes who were more then supporters.
BUT you guys forget what NIKO did sad on opening: "We gonna gamble with Ancient'', they lost ancient - it was the main fight.
IF g2 would fight nuke in the beggining it could be closer and they would know there is another map (astralis 0:1in bo3 or 0:2 in bo3 - its ok we have our maps. Remember how they played, i think 2018 vs NAVI when astralis lost dd2 and it was +1 for winning bracket and +1 for dd2: NAVI 2 : 0 astralis ? 2 : 3 !!
g2 as a team wasn;t ready for this(major). I think it was too easy for them to get in final so they collapsed / Navi was ready. Ofc it wasnt as easy as against Gambit, but it was 1:0 +nuke and they know they gonna take it!
NIKO him self wasn't ready for this mentally, he was ready with his aim , movement. / Navi was (even with b1t who had his first major).
Niko was literally dragging the corpse of G2 through most of the finals stage, he needs a better team around him.

Niko is at the same spot as S1mple was before Navi reformulation around him. Niko needs a team who can work even without him. If S1mple don't show up, all Navi's players are more than capable of wining a game

The most dominant teams in their era : NIP, fnatic, Luminocity-SK,astralis were all dominant cus they were 5 people on those teams bringing results, not just 1.

Niko's situation now is what s1mple's situation was in Na'Vi before b1t, and probably more similar to how it was with Edward and Zeus. Sure, s1mple has better stats now but back then he was pretty much the guy who was initiating and ending rounds, while now with Na'Vi's system, he's pretty much taken over what device's role was in Astralis while also being mechanically better than everyone else.

Honestly, with the level he showed this major, anyone giving him shit about the deagle whiff should get their head checked. Dude was literally the only reason G2 got that far, and the one time he truly fucks up his team isn't there to pick up the slack.
Because sure everyone on G2 had their hero round but it was often, if not almost always, after niko got some mindbending multikill.

if niko finds himself in prime positions to make plays it's also becouse his team allows that to happen by doing other things there or elsewhere.
@@akhsdenlew1861 They're not bad players by any means, but when It comes to the upper echelon of current day csgo they are not a solid team. Chalk it up to chemistry, preparation, mental strenght or whatever, they came into the Major with only niko performing, and -like I said earlier- while every individual stepped up as the tournament went on it took monstruous performances from niko every single time.
And as much as I might like Jackz and feel he looks like a really nice guy let's not forget both he and nexa were the most notable underperformers even against weaker opponents to the point there were rumors of them getting benched.
Like you said, CS is a team game, and if s1mple is any indication you can't constantly rely on one guy's mechanics to win you every match, as harsh as it may sound. When you talk about this level of competition it's not about players being bad, rather not good enough.

Niko deserves some sort of award for player who takes a metric fuckton of utility damage at the beginning of the round, yet still manages to get a minimum of 1-2 impact frags. Dude is unreal.

Look frame by frame at 3:00. TeSeS could actually see Nexa's shadow at 3:01 for about 250 ms, and his AK47's barrel and part of his back for about 117 ms after that.
Really goes to show what you can miss in these high pressure situations on a big LAN.
I started watching view a few months ago before I subbed, and slowly and steadily he's helped me realize what I've been doing wrong on certain maps, along with angles and peeks on both sides especially on inferno one map I was super bad at, while my aim was eh it got better over time and when I found voo's video about crosshair and placement for the crosshair I was able to win my gunfights with a headshot for angles and peeks I expected to be there even though sometimes I did get AWP'd hard though, but it helped me understand maps more and when to and when not to push as well as deal with Nades and utility so if you're looking to get better and you see this and its your first time watching Voo, give his couple of videos a try like Elo hell, and 4 levels of Pistols, even 4 levels of aim and keep practicing it'll get better!

Well it's obvious that he was more impactful for G2 since niko carried the hell out of G2. The issue with G2 vs. Navi is that Navi has 5 beast player and s1mple is "just" the cherry on the cake but niko is just the cherry without the cake. I mean, yeah, hunter did a good job aswell but the others? Amanek for example played poorly. G2 needs 1-2 new player including a top awper.
The lack of an effective awper hurt G2's chances against NaVi.

Simple was ridiculus in this tournament, but it is overlooked becouse his team was on point.. ALL THE TIME, as well.
While in G2, niko kinda did the heavy lifting most of the time, so it was more noticable.
But stats do not lie and do not do "fanboism".

If u win a game 16-6 then you might have a good scoreline even though there's players on the team that lost who probably could play better than you, you have more money for good weapons, more eco rounds ur against, better teammates to support you, trade you , flash you etc. Niko stats comparing to another rifler is actually insane, it just sucks G2 overall team isn't on par with Na'Vi.

NiKo just ascends in clutch situations. I still remember in the rmr for the major he was ecoing against ence at match point and got 2 insane deagle shots mid on dust 2 to keep them in the game.

I hadn’t seen the hype around Niko until this tournament. Only been following pro scene for the last 2 years or so. I get it now and wow is it well deserved. Imagine if Jackz had turned on at any point against Navi. Jackz is low hanging fruit right now and should be worried.

I use nikos sensitivity and have based my playstyle off watching him. I still think s1mple was better this major but it was so close its really splitting hairs, you could easily argue either way. Really sorry for niko not getting his major, he's the next player other than s1mple that really deserves a major. He fought so hard to get them here, really like vintage navi where s1mple had to hard carry or no win

It really annoys me that people are flaming Niko for losing a 'guaranteed win' with the deagle wiff.. Bit was still alive, he killed Hunter at basically the same time, the idea that it was a forgone conclusion that G2 win the map if Niko kills Simple is ignoring the obvious fact that Bit is very capable of winning a 1v1 against an armour-less Niko with only a deagle and the bomb not planted for him.. Niko is pretty much the sole reason G2 even made it that far in the major, people need to get over it, sometimes people miss. Jackz wiffed a 1v1, Simple wiffed an awp shot on a static bomb planter, shit happens

Unfortunately S1mple wasn’t forced to carry like before, so we may never see peak hard-carry S1mple vs peak hard-carry Niko. Hopefully G2 as a team improves enough to go toe to toe with Na’Vi and we can see that in the future.
This video would have looked much better if you just focus on Niko's impact rather than comparing his impact to GOAT. Simple faced zywoo, shroo and didn't break a sweat to beat them. And Niko earned his respect by putting a stealer performance only second to simple.
jackz and amanek dont show up much on t rounds. g2 needs to fix that to become at par with navi because they may defeat the other teams 7-8 out of 10 times but theyll never be a major threat to navi they are insane rn everyone shows up

I said this while watching the games that Sunday. I was like well, NaVi is playing better as an overall team. But NiKo is absolutely carrying G2 kicking and screaming.

In many ways both players are better than each other.
I love watching niko play. No matter what, he is the most interesting player to play not just because of skill, but because he single handedly controls entire games. He reads his opponents, helps his team, hits crazy shots, everything goes his way unless he gets antistrated or a wiff (come on we have all had that happen, deagle shots at that range to the side/back of a target is like trying to get a wiff).
All the analysis is definitely valid, and NiKo is undoubtedly a top tier player. But to compare NiKo to s1mple simply based on “higher impact with G2” than s1mple’s impact with Navi, is essentially comparing apples to oranges.
S1mple has always been carrying Navi in previous years, and to compare NiKo with this champion Navi lineup is just irrelevant. NiKo’s impact during this major still can’t compare to s1mple’s impact when Navi was still an inconsistent team, and that is a fact.
The day before the final I knew G2 wouldn't win cause Amanek (their awper) hadn't played the previous matches as well as it would be needed to stop s1mple. And also because Niko hadn't awped the previous matches, so he wouldn't awp the final.
NiKo is not better but the margin between them is minimal in this major at least.
The fact that s1mple still has a very high rating/production with competent teammates, speaks a ton about him.
Niko's insane rating is actually reflecting on how inconsistent his teammates are. G2 better amp-up the supporting casts of Niko if they really want to get over that hurdle.
Hunter and Jackz ain't shit, but I can honestly see the problem that electronic had during the 2018-2019 season wherein his performance wasn't consistent at all; Hunter and Jackz needs to improve that part of themselves because they can truly frag out, no doubt about it. Same thing can be said about amanek as well. Nexa is fine, his shot calling is good as is, he'll be wiser I'm sure.
At the end of the day, Na'Vi was just better overall. Both Niko and Sasha actually deserves a Major title. I felt bad that Niko had to have that deagle moment that will surely stick for years to come.
