      kinkysweat I bought the Base One brush recently. I’ve been using it and love the result. I went back to use my Cover FX cream foundation brush the other day.... awful in comparison. I literally yelled “WTF are you doing to my face?! Sonia come to me and fix this atrocity!”
      So. That’s my warning ⚠️Sonia will make your face look so good. Everything else pisses you off. Not Wayne though - I still love those.

      Reese Reaves in a way I love how life changing Sonia brushes are, because it keeps me from wasting money on whatever brushes. I have A TON of other brushes that I’m going to clean and giveaway. Donate, gift whatever. Because they are sitting in my drawer taking up space. Don’t get me wrong, I love a few Sigma brushes, and a few Smith ones. Let’s just say, my collection is in for some major editing.

    Hi Alicia, many thanks for this amazing review! As I mentioned on Insta, I am so happy that my friend Ann told me about you! Thank you for your kind support and for saying such wonderful things about these brushes!
    Face One is indeed my favourite, it means a lot to me that you love it as much as I do!
    Worker One, I have to say that it does not have a "thin" side but a flat side, I don’t know how this got mixed up but just wanted to say that both sides are equal and I apologize for the confusion!
    There is no size or shape differences between Worker One and Worker Two, however, the dye on the bristles make the brush a bit firmer, tighter, and the grip is increased, as a result, it's like having two different brushes. Some may not see a difference, others will say those are two completely different brushes, it depends on our own past experience with make-up application. All the brushes will change a bit once you have washed them a couple of times, the tip is going to have a bigger surface to work with, and they will become fluffier, so I hope you’ll still love them afterwards!
    For Builder One, if you pick the product with “wiggly” type of motions (tiny zig zags on the pan), the product builds up in between the bristles and then the colour payoff is better on the lid, maybe it changes a bit the intensity of the shimmer placement but it also depends on the shadow… I am just suggesting in case it helps!
    I needed a tiny brush like this because I need shimmer always, but always just only a little of it :)
    By the way, Wayne is such an amazing person and I love his brushes so much!
    I love the look you have created, gosh it’s gorgeous, I have the same palette and will do it on myself!
    I was looking at your website and Instagram, you are beauty and style indeed...
    Again, thank you so much!!!

    So I went ahead and swallowed the price and bought this set over the Wayne Goss one because of your recommendations! I know for sure I won't be disappointed. Thank you so much for helping me. I was really stressing about buying something so expensive, not liking it as much as I want, and not being able to return it and no one else was helping me on any other blog or channel. So thank you for being so kind and helping little old me out, even though you didn't even have to notice me! I'm very grateful for your kindness, generosity, and truthfulness! Now off to research the perfect case for my first fude set! 😘

    Hi Alicia, I just want to thank you for giving a great intro on Sonia G brushes. I wanted to order the Sky Eye set, but I can only shell out for one brush. So I had to carefully choose which one would work well with what I recently ordered (my rephr ones 3,13,& 15) and decided to get the mini booster. Again, because of your in-depth reviews on these brushes (and all the other fude in what I’d call your enviable collection of these Japanese handmade brushes 😍) , I was able to zero in on which one would best meet my make up application needs, since I can only purchase my one and only Sonia G. Thanks for all that you say and do for all your subscribers. It really helps me navigate the world of make-up, without feeling I have to get my hands on everything. TYVM for all the honest & hard work & love you put into all your vids

    Beautylish is fantastic! Sonia G's brushes are AMAZING and I have lots, the more I used them the more I love them. Ended up buying all of them, use them daily with....two Smith brushes that you use and LOVE them too! I wasn't going to purchase the giant fan brush because I don't normally use it. Yeah, use it all the time. One and done with this one and blends beautifully. The Face One, to blend your powder in, once it's pouched on try buffing with your hand towards the end of the brush rather than close to the ferrule. It's hard to pick a favorite with her brushes, seriously hard once you start working with them.

    This is the perfect palette to use with these brushes because there is a lot of pigment and glitter and it's easy to make a mess. I really want the pencil brush and the worker one. I was so impressed with how quickly you coated the whole lid with Metropolis, with NO FALLOUT. And yes, you don't need your finger if you have the builder or the smudger because they just do such a good job of intensifying difficult shadows. Honestly, one Sonia G brush saved some lackluster shimmers for me. The fat handles are kind of hard to get used to, but I don't mind them. I love this look. :)

    I had a chuckle watching your reaction to the price of the face brushes, watching this 3 years later, I’ve just watched you rave about brushes three times that much with less dry mouth! Haha. Of course solidifying that this is indeed a rabbit hole 🕳😅😂. I am very pleased I just bought the buffer pro and then watched this video to see face one was one of your favs and Sonia G’s! Thanks for all these wonderful brush videos. It does make brush buying so much simpler. I admit I ordered about half of your favs from the 2021 “most used” videos. It means a lot of you’ve used so many fude brushes so your fav carry a lot of weight!! I like that you have a collection of Sonia G, Wayne Goss and Japanese brush brands that may be less known or harder to access in North America that can now be found at Beautylish and Fude Beauty which both ship to Canada as well!!

    Now, at first I thought, there is no way in hell Im going to pay this much for brushes, but after seeing your review of these brushes, I HAD to try them at least once. Well, I order a back up from MUSE just in case I didn't like the Sonia G. brushes and wanted to send them back.. Well, let me tell you, for all of you that are wondering if these brushes are worth the money, the answer is ABSOLUTELY!!!! I have been using these brushes every since I got them and I don't use any of my other brushes anymore. The blending is effortless now, cut down my prep time by 30 mins. I can blend out shadows quick. I was highly impressed, and I'm going back to get the smugger brush. I have "builder one', "worker one", and worker two". If you just want to try them then just get builder one" and worker one"... Understand these brushes will pick up a lot of product at one time so for those of you who like to build up shadows it may be a lot for you, but I love them. I will not use anything else. .. Wish I had bought them long time ago... Thanks for the review!!

    This review came on time for me, I received my first Sonia G brush (Crease one) last week and I have been apsolutely loving it.
    Doing my makeup and mostly eyeshadow is a moment for me where my stress is gone for a while. And that is why I started doing my eye makeup everyday because I just need that daily moment without worries, and this is maybe how an addiction started.
    But this Sonia G brush feels like it performs magic on my eye so I decided that I'm gonna buy another one next month, but I wasn't sure what eye brush to get yet, I think it's going to be the Worker one.
    Thank you so much for this video, I always enjoy your reviews, I think you give us the important information we need about the products , show us the products nicely and bring some fun along with it.

    Hi Alicia, I am so glad you are happy with your brushes, I know I was one of the people that encouraged you to watch Michele's videos and purchase these brushes-I would have felt horrible if you didn't like them! You will find that as you continue to use them you will experiment more and more and will want the rest of the brushes, at least that's what happened to me. I have been buying them one at a time and I have almost all of them now. But, like I was saying, the more you use them and play with them you will find what works best for you and you will probably find yourself reaching for them more than you thought. I still use my Wayne Goss and even my Sigma brushes (among my Tom Ford and other brushes) depending on the type of product I'm using and of course when my Sonia G brushes are dirty. But I try to keep them clean because I rely on them a lot now. Well, enjoy your brushes and get ready to kiss more of your hard earned money goodbye - LOL!!!🤣😂😢 Take care, Ginny 😘😘😘

      I would love to! Ideally I want to purchase some of Wayne’s face brushes. From what I experienced, it all depends on what you feel comfortable with. If you love fan brushes, then I’ll go with Sonia. If you’re more into dome/tapered shapes then Wayne. If I were to get ONE brush from Sonia, it’s Face One. I think that changed the game for me in terms of looking virtually poreless.

    The only brush that gives my Goss numma THREE a run for its money is the bdellium tools 785 from the golden triangle collection. After swearing by the elf crease brush, I saved up for those, and it’s like night and day. There really is no going back once you find the right brush/product combo.
    Thanks for these reviews, you helped me find the last piece to my collection with the Gosses; so I’m sure someone else ran to beautylish after watching lmao 💖✨

    I'm surprised to hear some people had bad PML packaging issues with Opulence because for me it's like they stepped it up after Bronze Seduction. There was bubble wrap and packing paper and tissue in my packages. My issue this time was with their global distributor because my palette stayed in their warehouse after leaving PML for ages before it was sent to me, but then my Blitztrance lipsticks arrived at the same time and early at that too. They were in immaculate condition though. On brushes, I have told myself to stop buying possibly inferior brushes because I have been looking for a brush like the Worker 1 and I don't think there's one out there like it in terms of efficacy for its purpose from what I've seen. Face 1 has also been calling to me. I have to call the sales assistant at my nearest TF though to check if they still have any no 13s that aren't synthetic first though.

    • @aliciaarcher
      @aliciaarcher  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s good to know! I don’t know why some customers receive immaculate packaging and others not? Who knows, but sounds like they are very much aware of the several resends and refunds. And see that they need to make moves.

    So, I also noticed you bought the walgreens wet n wild brush set last year... do you think you could do a comparison using Wayne or Sonia vs wet n wild. So that we can see the true difference between application/final look? I just want to know if a Wayne or Sonia would actually make a difference.
    Also.... 😊 perhaps another video idea is a demo on how you wash/take care of these quite expensive brushes.
    Happy Thanksgiving!

    • @aliciaarcher
      @aliciaarcher  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can tell you right now there is a significant different in performance between the two. The natural bristles move with more finesse across the skin, and manipulates the product beautifully. Wet N’ Wild places down product, but it’s not a smooth application like Wayne or Sonia. The bristles feel like plastics, and they skip on the skin. I would recommend Zoeva brushes as an inexpensive alternative.

    • @shivondevi
      @shivondevi 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@aliciaarcher I own MAC, Sephora, urban decay, IT cosmetics, wet n wild, ELF... and a few other brands. I feel like I'm better off collecting brushes than makeup because they dont expire. Would you say I'll notice a huge difference between MAC and Wayne?
      Then I'll watch videos, and see better pigmentation when the artist uses their fingers or an el cheapo sponge tip applicator 🤣

      To me buying a $125 eye palette and using a $3 brush doesn't make a lot of sense. Synthetic hair brushes, even if they feel decent just do not pick up and spread product as well as a hand-built natural hair brush. You can swatch with them side by side and the synthetic brush will cause more kick up in pan, irritate your skin and spray shadow around where you don't want it to go. I still have some cheaper brushes in my collection, but for doing eyes with powder, I'd never go back. I was using less expensive, but still very good natural hair brushes (bdellium) and I only use them now when my good brushes are drying and I really dread it because they just feel scratchy. You get used to super soft SUPER FAST.
