A friend of mine made it in Blender. Although, I would recommend Mine-Imator if you want to make your own because it's easy to learn and it's even what I use for my thumbnails.

Thanks, my keybinds are 1 for 1, 2 for 2, 3 for 3, r for 4, a mouse button for 5, z for 6, x for 7, c for 8, and f for 9.

For my character I use Mine-Imator, the background is just a Minecraft screenshot, and I compile them together in Krita.
