you could also buy the original hardware but also get yourself one of those cartridges like the everdrive that loads lots of roms, or mod your console and download isos on the original hardware, it’s authentic and cheaper.

I feel no shame buying game collections like Genesis, Contra, Castlevania and Ninja turtles on switch and Xbox

I am with you on this. I also have the Sega Genesis Mini, as well as the Genesis collection on PS3. I have the Capcom Arcade collection for PS2. For PS4, I have the Castlevania and Contra collections. I should have mentioned these types of collections, as they are also very good emulation products!

Honestly, I couldn't care less about how folk enjoy their games. Emulation, original hardware, whatever. Play your games and enjoy them.

I agree. I just wanted to expose the myth that you need to use original hardware to get the same gaming experience. Also, not many people talk about the advantages of emulation, such as price and availability. Thanks for the comment.

I gotta say.....not all games emulate the same.the nes classic was great. The playstation classic,for example....
Just shows that even "licensed" or og makers get lazy with digital rereleases.theyre few and far in between,but they get lazy n it's not always 1 to 1

You are right about that. The PS Mini was pretty bad (I bought one when it hit $50 Canadian). You are right on target with that assessment.
But, the PS one games on the Sony store play perfectly on my Vita or PS3. And most of them are $5 each (Canadian, not sure how much in the US). I really think that it was limited to whoever was in charge of putting the Mini system together.

Yeah, it sounds like that. I think it was the settings on my mic. I am still learning how to do this. My wife said that she could hear me from the living room, so I know I wasn't actually whispering. My apologies for the audio. I will up my game. :)
