    You do an amazing job teaching--but I'm such a beginner, I really need a written pattern, and for you to show me your piece as we go along; mine didn't turn out like yours, but it's still very cute! I had a really hard time with the arm holes, so I just poked them through wherever it seemed right... thanks for taking the time to do this. 😊

      @@LittlejohnsYarn Jacking a thread so I can make sure I get an answer. I love this vest! Did you just use a short chain for the tie for it, then lace it through your single crochet row, or did you attach two smaller chains on either side? (Or, either way being stronger by attaching to the loops inside of the single crochet row?)

    Just made this. Loved it! Although I've never done so many chain stitches...OmG. After the first couple of rows I did my single crochets into the top stitch of the chain 5, instead of the space. It looked better. I goofed up on the first row or two, so that I ended up decreasing when I didn't mean to. But this pattern is very forgiving, so it still looks great. Also I did a few extra edging rows on the bottom. Again, love this!

    Ok, now my questions: You mentioned to add 4 additional chain blocks for each inch the person is bigger (I'm a size 16). However you didn't mention if that mains I have to reduce more rows (see time 7:48 in your video.) Also, you didn't mentioned how to do the closing chain in the front of the vest to hold it together. I adore how easy to follow this tutorial is, but is there a written pattern as well? I'm learning to follow patterns and I'd love to reference one as I crochet along with you.

    Love this! So if I use a lighter weight yarn like a dk I should go up a required hook size on the package by 1? So a 3.5mm requirement on package I would use 4.5? And then just chain in multiples of 4? Just want to make sure, I love this it is a very versatile pattern!

    • @LittlejohnsYarn
      @LittlejohnsYarn  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I should have been more specific. I'm going to pin a comment for everyone. thank you for pointing that out. what I meant to say a different brand of worsted weight yarn. Caron One Pound is a stiffest thickest strand of worsted weight yarn on the market. Something like "I love this yarn" or "RedHeart Soft"

    Hello, you think me using red heart parrot stripe yarn would be ok to use? I think it would be so pretty just don't know if it's too thick of a yarn it say medium worsted.

    I am just starting the arm holes and I understand the first row, but what happens when you start the second row? Do you count that last hole or do you do at the other end you sc three, and you don’t count it in? This is my first time crocheting an item.

    • @LittlejohnsYarn
      @LittlejohnsYarn  5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I'm sorry I don't know the pattern off by heart. But it is created using multiples of 4. Each chain 4 will add an inch to the vest. Wrap the starting chain around the widest part of you to get a good estimate of size.

    • @stephaniea.goodman6230
      @stephaniea.goodman6230 5 ปีที่แล้ว

  • @lisamariebeam8079
    @lisamariebeam8079 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Ok... So I'm a little confused as far as far as my chain foundation count... If you're doing 122 chains for a size 12... What would be the count on the foundation chain for a size 16?? And if I want a larger size... Does that mean it would change the whole tutorial on how to do it.... ?? Augh .. I really want to do this ... I have the perfect yarn... Weight... Size... Feel... It's just perfect for this sweater... I just can't get the count right...
