Since then I have to use a walker and I'm only out of bed to sit for 3 hours a day ever since 2012. It has been a long painful journey for me, emotionally and physically, but, I know God has a plan for me! I pray for God's perfect healing to be with you and for a restoration to good health for you! Glad to hear you are taking care of yourself and getting some rest when needed. May God bless you and H!

Shawn I got to tell you this story of my shower yesterday. I got in the shower and realized I needed another bar of soap. I just grabbed one of the many goat milk soaps I had under the sink, not paying any attention to what I grabbed. Well I can say I didn’t grab one of your soaps and I could tell it right away. Before I found your channel and started purchasing your soaps that you and your lovely goats provide I would buy goat milk soap manufactured by a major company. The soap had almost no lather, no fragrance and my skin felt dry after showering. I knew I had grabbed the wrong soap. I learned my lesson. I want to thank all the lovely ladies and you Shawn for providing me with the best goats milk soap. I guess you can say I’m spoiled now.

When I was 17 and 18, I had surgeries for 3 ruptured discs. L3,4, and 5 are fused with bone taken from my backside. A third surgery to clean out bony growth at L2 was done when I was 33. I'm now 65 and have a stronger back than most of my contemporaries. Learning how to bend and lift is crucial, especially when shovelling snow.

L1-L4 banjaxed family has no lower curve in spine, about 30 yrs ago the first of us went for surgery, it didn't go well and so the rest of us (cousins etc) have all refused point blank to go in! The really sad part was when the radiologists told me she had never seen such a straight spine on a teenager I thought she was complimenting my posture! Lol oh the innocence

They want to do surgery on my L4/5. At this point, I have said no. I'm not in pain all the time nor is the pain level to a point that I am on heavy meds. I very rarely take pain meds. I also have DDD. I further take into account that I have stage 3 kidney disease when thinking about surgery. There are things I shouldn't do and things I can't do but at 66, I'm ok withit. After 13 months of retirement, I went back to my old job, part-time (I was asked to come back 😁).
Please keep the videos coming 😊.

Hey Shawn i too had back surgery. I have had 3 total. Started at 18 in 1981. It was L4,5,S1. I had laminectomy & fusion. 2nd was 2001 had L3,4,5, laminectomy fusion with stabilizer rods at 3& 4. 3rd was 2010 had laminectomy. I too have degenerative disk diease. I am 62 now & in wheelchair. I can stand but having trouble walking. Weakness in legs. So do keep yourself in shape & know when to slow down when your back is hurting. Sorry to hear your having so much trouble with your back. Poor baby got shocked. I felt so bad for them. I know they will never do that again. I just felt bad for them. You take care. Tiny Herc cuter everyday. P. Snow is filling out nicely. Have great night.

Back surgery is nothing is do without researching first. I had back surgery Jan. of 23 and it take time to totally heal and recovery/ As you said you have to be careful not to do a lot of twisting and lifting. Now I had blown out my meniscus and looking at surgery in 2 weeks to hopefully repair it. Recovery about 5-6 weeks, non-weight bearing with a splint. You take care of your back. Love tiny Herc, and Prez. Snow.

IN 1991 WOUND UP IN PHILLY WITH L2-3, L5-S1, PEDICLE PLATES AND SCREWS. FUSED FROM L2-3 TO L5-S1. THE PLATES AND SCREWS CAME FROM OHIO. AURTHUR STEFFIE / ACRO MED. THEY WOUND UP BEING SUED IN CLASS ACTION SUITS. ACRO MED IS NO MORE, BUT THEY CRIPPLED A LOT OF PEOPLE. VERY GLAD YOU DID GREAT RESEARCH, PEOPLE NEED TO LEARN TO ADVOCATE FOR THEMSELVES. Omg I was watching this video while in the hospital today June 29th . I’ve had 4 back surgeries since 1989. My last was in 2012 and I need 1 more. I actually shocked my surgeon he thought I was just going to need a little therapy and I’d be fine. Oops . Lol I know it’s serious but I really surprised him . I’ve had fusion and I think it’s a cage around my spine from my tailbone to L4. Next is L5-T3 or 4. Which need fused too. Also 2 discs in my neck. Don’t take your back for granted. I feel you sweetheart bless ms H for being there for you. Wishing you all the best

MAYBE you could build a air vent on the roof on each side that can be opened in summer to let heat out but be closed in winter to keep heat in. Something like the hatch they have on RV's that is easy open with a pull string but is sealed from water getting in.

    I had a spinal fusion in2002 ..L4, L5 and S1
I now HAVE titanium rods and screws in my back..

But the worst pain for me was the day after surgery wax the removal of the drain tube..
My pain pills I took maybe 4 days after I got home..
I LOVED MY DR.. ( in toledo ohio ) yes I walked out of hospital.. in fact I HAD TO Walk that next morning in hospital..
But PLEASE STAY OUT OF RECLINERS... NOT GOOD ..
(NEVER DID ONE DAY OF THEROPY ) BACK TO WORK IN 8 WEEKS..

Hi Shawn. Out fly? The babies and lastly little Herc. Mr Snow is being stubborn. 😜🤪 oddly I had a rupture and herniated disk around that time, but I think it was 2015 I had the surgery. But I still had a sacrielliac misspelled ) joint issue. I was afraid but I did walk so much better until the sac joint started in. Also have stenosis in. My spine. It’s been interesting to say the least, since. Yup, it runs in my family as well. My back always is a problem, but I try to be so careful. Yes,you do lift a lot ofthings. I get that laying down thing. At age 77, I Havea power chair ordered to get around outside as I get so tired, etc. but otherwise, I am stuck inside a lot. Not complaining, just letting you know I get what you are going thru. Love those darling goaties❤️💞. Thank you for all your hard work and including all of us. They all eat well. ❤️👍

I haven’t had a back surgery but had to deal with neck surgery and sometimes I push my limits because there is no one else here to do something that has to be done. Should I do it, no but I do the best I can. I ask for help like at the store with loading big bags at Tractor supply into my car, but who is going to get them into the house? My son and I do it. He has a weight limit he can’t go past on lifting to because of a curved spine, but between the two of us we can get those bags in the house. We manage, but sometimes I know I push it because I can feel it in my neck and the pain shoots down my arms. Will I rupture another one, I might if I am not careful but sometimes I just have to do things. Life can’t stop. So yes you are right, you have to know your limits, but it is hard at times, especially if you’re the only person who can do things. So rest when you push it, but keep moving so you don’t rust😂.

In 2015 I went in for surgery on my back because the fluid was not getting through my spinal cord. I have pins and rods and plates from S1 to T12. I went back in a year later because the disc above the surgery failed and they had to connect that to my cage. I used to cane for about a year or so but I have been using a walker now for the last six years I would say. I can’t stand up straight. The pain is just ridiculous. I’ve been on every kind of pain medication and nothing takes the pain away. Since my back surgery, I’ve had both hips replaced, my right knee replaced and now I’m looking at right shoulder surgery. This is definitely not how I plan to spend my retirement. I have a six-year-old granddaughter who I can’t get on the floor and play with and push on the swing and play in the yard And it hurts me every day. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone. I often wonder what I did to deserve this. Fortunately, I’m still able to drive. If I couldn’t and I was homebound, I honestly don’t know what I would do. I’m glad you’re doing well Shawn.

Shawn I have a pinched nerve at L-3, L-4, L-5 so freaking painful to walk or move. I’m working towards Ablation procedure. I can’t imaging having bone bits in there. I had done bone scraped out in that area but it didn’t help. I’m concerned about surgery if I have to go there. About to have a total knee replacement on Aug 2 recover and do the other one. I have DBD also, spine sucks. Arthritis throughout my body. RA to boot. Both shoulders eventually will have to be replaced as well.
