    Great video! I purchased an off brand kettle off Amazon last spring and it was such a huge game changer! I was skeptical with the price but anything was better than waiting for my stovetop to finish boiling water. I don't remember seeing the Cosori at the time of my purchase though.

    I just discovered that you can in fact turn off the temperature hold function on the SAKI Baristan. If you simply tap the power button during heating or temp hold, the corresponding icon will disappear, after which the kettle will be idle. Even after removing and replacing the kettle back on the base, the kettle will remain idle and not heat until you tap the power button again

    Really appreciate the amount or effort you have put in to make this possible. Also the factors consider for the comparison are so appropriate and clear I must say. It gave me an in depth information.
    I have always wanted one of these to have that precision and control. I have Participated in the giveaway. Fingers crossed 🤞

    Loved the comparisons! I have the Fellow Stagg and it can be frustratingly slow if you just want to fill a glass with water!
    Also, it does have a built-in brew timer by holding the power button down while on.

    Nice video. I was searching for a gooseneck kettle a few months ago but couldn't find anything that I would be confident is not money wasted on an overpriced kettle. Especially when most of them have small capacity.
    Currently, I have a normal spout kettle and it would be nice to try one of these. Thank you for the giveaway, hopefully, I can enter as I am not US so there is an issue with shipping to Poland and different electric infrastructure (120V in the US and 240V here).

    The speed of the fellow isn't really a problem if you take the lid off and pour from the side. You can empty it out real fast that way

    I'm just now researching the purchase of an electric kettle that doesn't always heat the whole way to boiling. Since I want to heat just 12 oz of water at a time, I've been trying to find out the minimum amount of water the various kettles require. This seems to be an industry secret.

    The Bonavita has a timer too. After you remove the kettle hit the + and the timer starts. Unfortunately when you put kettle back on the base it turns off the timer🫤

    Resistive heating elements (like in electric tea kettles) do degrade over time. This reduces their heat generated and also inversely their wattage drawn. This is an excellent way to test a kettles heating element by testing the maximum wattage drawn vs rated wattage draw.
    Take note, US kettles can have a maximum wattage draw of ~1800 watts (15 Amps X 120 Volts) due to our electric grid setup. While UK/EU/AU kettles can push ~2300 watts (10 Amps X 230 Volts). This means that US kettles will always be slower to heat than UK/EU/AU ones.
    (UK/AU 230V X 10amp, EU 220V X 10amp)

    • @unconventionalideas5683
      @unconventionalideas5683 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      UK is based more like 240 Volts, but 230 is common in Europe. Also, most European Gooseneck Kettles do not seem to take full advantage of this difference, or at least not all of it.

  • @sppeacock
    @sppeacock ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Minor nitpick. The + button on the Bonavita starts a timer with the kettle off.

    The Saki being both the heaviest and having the most wrist strain (it is as anti-ergonomic a handle as I’ve seen on a kettle pretty much ever, even moreso than handles that swivel above the lid and make you lift them higher) are quite the deterrent, especially knowing my hands would be at the top, that harsh edge of what is basically just a painted bracket from a hardware store (sorry, Saki, I like some of your other products!) would just be digging into the same spot of my forefinger… yikes, barista hell right there given how repetitive the motion of their jobs already is… wrist strain, I see you one and add another hundred grams of weight and a thin metal plane pushing in as you grip it all day! Eep. Maybe save the red lights for something, somewhere, and someone a little more sensual with a different kind of repetitive motion strain in the hands, lighter weight and grip, I would dare believe!🤣
