Garuda is great on long-haul flights! You could fly them on GA89 from Amsterdam to Jakarta (no stops) in their Boeing 777-300ER. Great airline, great video!

Nice video, Felix! Finally someone agrees with me regarding to the IFE. I wish they applied new IFE like the ones they did on the A330. Also on some old planes the IFEs were unresponsive. Nevertheless GA is on its right rail.
In B737-800 at registered PK-GN series (ex PK-GND), IFE is nice. Touchscreen is more responsive. But IFE in PK-GF series (ex PK-GFZ) and PK-GM series (ex PK-GML) is same like in this video. And PK-GE series (ex PK-GEM) is very old B737-800 because no IFE. I have been onboard B737-800 Registered PK-GND, PK-GFZ, PK-GML, and PK-GEM. So even that's type of the aircraft is B737-800 but, IFE is different feel for me
@@gusangga7630 : I think every plane and every seat is different. I've got very responsive IFEs on -GNI and -GMU, but my IFE on -GMH was slow as molasses. I heard their IFEs on PK-GPZ, GHA-GHG onwards are good so I hope that they'll replace the old ones with that.

Unfortunately Garuda have just a few long haul flights (10+ hours ). I really wanted to try garuda 5 star long haul products, but it seems like a very hard mission to achieve 😂. And BTW simply aviation has made my day😀
Yeah, considering the marketing strategy in aviation industry and Garuda as a new player, it needs to be more careful in opening new routes. This week the London route will be re-opened and Amsterdam is no longer its only long haul flight. Let's hope for this route to sustain with better strategy from the management.
@@Imagic0000BOY As the few 5 star airlines, garuda is the one with the fewest long haul flights, and, its not a new airline, like Hainan Airlines is kinda considered to a new airline, but with various of Europe, US/Canada destinations, but I totally agrees your point that Garuda should be more careful in their marketing strategy, in case of the second Etihad Airways
@@lisasforehead6043 the "new" I meant refers to Garuda after its re-branding under the "Quantum Leap" program in 2010. I believe you know already before that Garuda is the joke of Asian airlines with its poor safety records and service, and frequent delays. Even only by then the airline was allowed to touch EU soil again. But yeah, regarding the number of long haul flights I wish future routes are coming under the ongoing development.
El Grande I hope Garuda Indonesia flies to ONT instead of LAX. Lots of Indonesians live in communities closer to ONT than LAX and lets not mention the horrendous traffic at LAX.

Hearing people speak Dutch gives me anxieties and a "big punch in my face" reminding that I'm heading back to reality. On the contrary, GA89 from Amsterdam has always been a pleasant experience. 😂 All in all, nice trip report, hope to see you fly with Garuda more in the future!
That meals calls Yellow Rice (but Indonesia's people call it as "Nasi Kuning), and the beef one it's call "Beef Rendang, it's made by beef with many seasonings and herbs. It tastes good and the green one is Pok Choy 😊
6:47 the name of food is nasi kuning with dendeng or you can say yellow rice with fried beef. You must know all of the Indonesian food because Indonesian food is delicious :)

Functioning IFE? Real headphones (not earbuds)? Blanket and pillow? Complete dinner? All in Economy? Surely the time of 1 hour 20 minutes is a misprint! Very few airlines provide all these amenities for short flights, and as far as the US airlines are concerned, none of them provide these things even on much longer domestic flights. I'm impressed!
Until Philippine Airlines codeshare agreement, Garuda Indonesia has flights from Manila to Jakarta but when Garuda Indonesia has codeshare agreements with Philippine Airlines, the route was took charge to Philippine Airlines and still active to this day Garuda Indonesia is the second oldest airline in operation after Philippine Airlines established in 1950 while Philippine Airlines formed in 1941
