Hi, i am not into log splitting but can't you cut the logs shorter ? so they fit in just right and you have a better chance of having them lay in properly in that small time frame? Why not alter the outer body and make a small slide/ramp on either side wide enough to take the logs down rolling rather than throwing and make a mesh cover on top. does not seem so dangerous to me as long as you are CAREFUL and not drunk. the 'piston' does not even hit the blade.
Aw, guys there's supposed to be a slip clutch on the front so if something too tough gets in there it will at least slip or shear the bolt, where's your sense of adventure ???
