    Your a huge inspiration to my son,Gage. He sent you a video of himself eating spaghetti in a charged mask. Because of you he is consumed with getting in pipeline and proving his mettle, after completing high school. The positive message your putting out is much appreciated and not falling on deaf ears!

      Yes I remember that video haha, he has great potential. I am humbled and honored to help. If he ever wants to hop on a phone call just ask him to email me and we can setup a time. It's always great to see parents who invest in their kids interest. Thank you for the support sir

    Great video Brian , my son just shipped on a SWOE contract we have followed you since the Ones Ready days , we broke down all the videos from OR and this channel....just wanna say thanks and it's on him now!!!

      That is very exciting, when you talk to him next let him know I am rooting for him and to not forget why he started this journey in the first place when it gets hard. Don't let negative thoughts creep into his head, take it one minute at a time. Thank you for the support!

    10 years as an lvn, been in many departments from pediatrics, geriatrics, obgyn, and urgent care. I have been fit for more than 15 years since highschool where I ran track and field and played football. I'm 36 now, my younger brother joined the navy and it fueled something in me when i came across pararescue. I started training on my own last week and have been running 1.5-2 miles at a 7.5-8.5 minute pace and have been pushing myself to do 3 sets of 10 of pull ups/sir ups with a 30lb vest and have been trying to learn how to swim. My recovery is not the same as before and my back and joints arent as powerful as when i was in highschool. What are the chances of a 36 year old making it?

    Hi Brian new follower here I just wanted to say I been binge watching your videos as of lately. I gotten inspired to be a PJ one day like yourself but I have long road for me. Reason because of dealing with leaving my comfort zone and pushing myself to loose weight and never give up until you came and gave me this inspiration. To try and push myself to be better version of me and so I want to ask what workouts or anyway I can train to one day become a PJ like yourself.

      Look up AFSPECWAR fitness preperation program, there is a free pdf on google you can download. It is a 26 week (6 month) workout schedule split into two phases. The first phase gets you ready to meet the IFT standards, and the second gets you in shape to be a recommended candidate at assesment and selection. If its too hard at first just copy the workouts but do them with less intensity. Ive been using the program for several weeks and its worked great. Make sure your diet is on point though. Getting in shape does not work without the correct nutrition. Get obsessed and make the goal of becoming a PJ your life, just the idea of this job helped me find purpose and has changed my life. Good luck, maybe one day I'll see you at selection!

    In the DEP in Utah. First official IFT on the 18th if I pass I have one more. Then I go to MEPS and I’m gone. 34 years old. Weighed 255lbs now at 198. Super nervous want this more than anything I’ve ever wanted. Any advice for an older guy? I know my age is a factor. It’s now or never for me and I’d rather die then not do this.

    • @HowToBeAPJ
      @HowToBeAPJ  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Congrats on putting in the work to lose the weight and get in shape, keep going with that mindset man and you will make it happen. For older guys usually I see better consistency because they are putting their lives on hold for this thing and you know if you dont make it you will have to go back wondering what could have been. Train hard and smart dont let there be any question in your mind whether you could have done more and you will make it. If you have any questions you can always email me at brian@howtobeapj.com

    Thank you for your channel. I heard about you from General Discharge. I was wondering what MOS (if any) would help someone trying to prepare/get ahead to become a PJ?

    • @HowToBeAPJ
      @HowToBeAPJ  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are looking to go into PJ I would recommend going straight into it and not spending any time trying to do another job.

  • @StayeHard

    I’ve heard that in training they drown you? Is that true? Also, what are the standards to pass indoc?

    • @HowToBeAPJ
      @HowToBeAPJ  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No one is giong to drown you, I have had many students pass out under water and we take this very seriously and do a full medical screening for those individuals. There is no more indoc it is now assessment and selection and the baseline is you should be able to pass the IFT after that you will have a few other tests which people will help train you to.

    Are the workout programs on your website and is the associated app up to date? Just popped over to your Insta and saw there hasn't been a post in some time.

      totally valid question and I have been keeping up to date on what is required for selection as well as the recent reintro to Indoc they are doing. I will continue to modify the workouts as need to ensure they are the best and most up to date workouts available. To answer your question directly, yes they are up to date

    Hi Brian, I have a few questions I’d like to know if you don’t mind answering them.
    First is how many deployments you’ve had ? And what has been the longest deployment in your career?
    Do you know of anyone having gone to be a PJ holding a dual citizenship? Thanks!

    • @HowToBeAPJ
      @HowToBeAPJ  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have had 8 deployments and the longest was close to 6 mo. I have known others born in other countries however, I never asked about the paperwork process for becoming a PJ with that status. It is possible though.
