Daniel. Thanks so much brother for your review. You got a sub from dallas. I love the animal sounds in the background. It adds to the non-commercial feel of the video. Keep it up!!!
Really succinct summary of the most popular notetaking apps on the ipad! i might just have to get Notability after this; its audio function sounds amazing! hope you see more videos from you
Thank you! My schedule has been messed up since graduating med school, but thank you for the motivation I need to continue! Also notability turned into a subscription app so try CollaNote! It’s free and very similar to notability with audio capabilities as well!
You are at peace bro. When you talk, it sounds like you are exhaling your 3rd bong hit. I know this from my high school daze. Also you have super long thumbs, maybe the longest in the world? Excellent video by the way, thank you.
Yes you can! You can export not only the pdf file but also your liquid text workspace as well as an outline of all the comments, highlights and excerpts as well!!
Hey great video. In liquid Text, it looks like you have a whole ebook with page numbers loaded up, how did you do that? Even if i convert an epub into PDF it screws the formatting up and the page numbers don't match.. Thanks for the help!
Most of the time I import pdfs as is and don’t do any conversion. Also, the page numbers in the app are still not aligned with the page numbers in the book (mainly because they count the cover page as a page in itself)
Really nice and in-depth. I use same kinda workflow, but instead of notability, I use FLEXCIL to make notes out of pdf coz it has linking feature just like liquidtext GoodNotes mainly for presentation and to teach in lecture. LiquidText for research and keeping everything (linked) at one workspace. You should create more videos around education and how you manage stuff. Sort of a vlog kind of thing where u show what u studied and how u used paperless approach.
Thank you! I’ve never heard of flexcil before…I need to check it out! I’m always looking for apps to boost productivity. And I do plan to make more videos around that topic! Happy you enjoyed :D
@@shreyanshpandey8306 that is true. That’s why I wish all these apps sort of combined because the handwriting scanning in good notes and notability are spot on!
Thanks for this. If you have time, how is this vide done at acowtancy website using notability...? How is previously handwritten text appearing step by step? I am a teacher and want to create video like at acowtancy ...
If it’s anything similar to khan academy where the teacher seems to be talking and writing stuff at the same time. They probably do it on a computer with screen recording on, some program to draw on, and either a mouse or graphic tablet.
@@urboytgd omg thank you!! It would be super helpful, I swear I feel dumb af for not finding out how and it seems noone on youtube explains the basic functionality! and I just stare at my screen when watching videos and they skip that loooooooool
I've tried these apps while my studies in USA. Notability works seamlessly on apple apps and supports the apple pencils but lacks some flexibility versus goodnotes in terms of customizing how you do your work and interface. Goodnotes is so good at organizing your "books" and works with most 3rd party pens such as wacom styluses.
I haven’t used margin note because I found liquidtext first. But I have seen videos on it. They are pretty much functionally the same, but I love the aesthetics of liquidtext more! Hope that helps!
I have tested GoodNotes but still prefer Notability because it can handle typed text much better. I prefer typing for notes. LiquidText is great! But I have found MarginNote and it has in addition to the mindmap also outlines and a flashcard feature that is (I think) more useful than GoodNotes flashcards. I like the structured form of outlines for notes. There is only one drawback. MarginNote stores the annotations in its own format. You can export the pdf or ebook with MarginNote’s annotations but it is only a flat pdf and the size is hugely increased. I have read that LiquidText is storing the annotations in the original PDF and every PDF reader/editor can use them. That is an advantage that I would like to test.
Oh! I didn’t know margin note had a flash card feature…!!! And Yes I can confirm that when you export in liquid text, you can compose as pdf which includes your annotations built in at pretty much the same file size as the original pdf. You could also export your notes outline separately. Or the liquid text format which includes both pdf and outline but only opens in liquid text.

Cheers from Switzerland, your video is exactly what I was looking for: no longer feeling bad for using so many apps for note taking 😅
Exactly! There is a need for multiple apps!
Thanks Daniel Such a fabulous unbiased review of these apps. I’m new to the iPad universe so it was really helpful.🙏
Aww, thanks! Glad you got something from it! And welcome to the iPad squad! 🔥🔥
Thanks, great video. Been using notability for ever, but liquidtext look like a winner too.
Yeah! Different use cases for different apps. Sometimes I wish they’d all combine into one but competition is good haha
The fact that there was a liquid text ad at the start of this video.
For real? I’m not monetized but that’s cool I guess lol.
@@urboytgd 😂
Thanks. I just haven’t been able to understand these apps well enough to start using them. This video breaks the blockage. I’m old but I still study.
Im happy to be of help! You’re never too old to get into anything!!
Great one. Thanks for the video. Ive been looking for this kini ok comparison.

Glad it helped!!!
Super informativo. Estudio odontologia y las aaps se ven bastante útiles 😊😊😊

Very informative
Great video!
Thank you! ☺️
Good overview! Thanks.
Glad you got value out of it 😁
Daniel Back with another banger!
Thanks bro!
Seriously awesome video. Subscribed 🔥
Appreciate it bro! It took a while to film and edit. So happy it helped!
I may get that liquid text now. Can I later move the PDFs from liquid text to Notability or good notes?
Yes you can! You can export not only the pdf file but also your liquid text workspace as well as an outline of all the comments, highlights and excerpts as well!!
Thank you
@@spanishconmigo122 no problem!

Can we make a pdf file of our notes in the workspace in liquid text ?
Yes you can! When exporting you can select to output a pdf of the book, the workspace, or both!
I'll have to check out Good Notes. Thanks!
You won’t regret it!
Those features you said about liquidtest are they useem free like active pdf reading or else pro version
The basic useful features are free, the only reason I upgraded was so I can write with my Apple Pencil! Haha
I actually had the app for a good couple years free, before I paid for the pro version.

I just looked into flexcil and it’s not bad you know, definitely very comparable.
Hi can the search for LiquidText search your handwritten annotations?
Sadly not as yet, only text in the document for now. Hopefully they add that feature in a future release!
Now notability only has the limited editing for free users. Wow.
What do you mean? As far as I know, the app is a paid app.
I just saw the update! Wow
Does Liquidtext supports ocr (handwriting) search functionality??
Sadly nope. It scan text in the document only. No scanning in the workspaces.
@@urboytgd it's desirable in today's time

I mean you could could probably do it with notability too, just make the computer record the iPad screen while you teach with it.
How do you move a file you've imported to a folder in LiquidText? I can't seem to find it, and they get automatically exported to home
Yeah liquidtext file management is very cave man like imo, but it’s possible! let me make a video for you!
