Fun thing about this game, it had a huge success here in Italy, I clearly remember every game shop I went to having a copy for display in the PC section, not to mention PC game magazines sometimes giving out copies of it, I guess everyone was so happy to have an italian protagonist for the game that the bad mechanics and clumsy programming went over our heads.
I'm sure anyone who ever played this game will enjoy Sseth review too
O hey, I bought Age of Wonders 1 because of Sseth, and it's interesting that once you find a good resolution you can play it just fine, it isn't tooooo hard to understand (but I'm horrible at strategy)...
Generally I like Magic (and Superpowers, Psychic Powers, Cybernetic Powers, etc...) but I treat Magic as if it was modern weapons, and my characters fight as if they were carrying a Rocket Launcher, a Shotgun, and a .50 Magnum Desert Eagle...
makes sense to be honest!
I think there was a quote from someone that said, that magic is just something we dont understand yet.
And when i think about it.. even magic in fantasy worlds should be somewhat normal, like knowing about physics or engireering in our world. Just ask somebody how a common household electical item works. We dont know, so it just "magically" works xD
Even the idea of traveling back in time to become a rich inventor is flawed.. because barly anyone knows how the stuff works that they are using daily
