@@NUNYABIZNNAAAZZZ Steve Clark was a good guitar player, but could've been so much better had he done like Phil Collen and got himself clean and sober. Viv is an awsome guitarist and deserves alot more respect than what he's given. He also adds his backing vocals which Steve Clark never really did.

80s girl here and the music will always be the best. I’ve seen Def Leppard and all the 80s greats in concert and nothing will ever compare. Damn I miss the 80s , don’t think any other generation will ever top that time, we had great music,great fun,and new how to live. I feel sorry for kids today ,especially teens ,the fun we had they never could these days. Proud to have been in high school during this.
We grew up listening to this fabulous band and we'll continue to do so until eternity.

No way! Don’t be Dazed and Confused! Led Zeppelin beats them hands down, playing electric or acoustically, either way No comparison! Zeppelin is classic, Def Leppard were an 80’s/early 90’s pop/rock metal hair band, great in that genre and in it’s day but no comparison to Led Zeppelin! Always!

I saw this video when I was 5 years old in 1984. It changed my life forever. At the 2:33 mark Steve did the coolest thing I had ever seen at the time. He spun around and chugged his guitar in front of the camera. My five year old self was stunned. It was the coolest thing I had ever seen. He may as well have been Rambo with the biggest machine gun. I loved it. My parents bought me a guitar that following Christmas. Guitar has been in my life every day since. I've played in bands, over a hundred of live shows, because of this one video and this great band. Rock On!

Always preferred this version with the background synthesizer over the original. But both versions just outright rock.

The Riffmaster's "Kashmir" as Elliot once said. I never had the chance to see the great genius live as they never toured my country. Beautiful Les Paul prior to Steve modding it with his ever loved Kahlers.
This should have been labelled "1984 Remix" instead of "Version 2." Mutt Lange remixed this track as a compromise with Phonogram to give him more time to finish producing "Hysteria" since he had just been brought back into that project after several years away.
I never knew they did this lol. This is horrible. Took all the grit out of it and pussified it.

This is actually the only video of the song I can remember mtv playing, with the synthesizer. I prefer the album cut much better but when I see this video the synth seems more appropriate to me.

justin g , I'm definitely not in the Steve Clark is the best camp, like the comment above, but he's a solid player with feeling, and awesome note selection. I like Phils lead playing too, but he always seemed to stray from the recorded version when playing live. Just listen to the Pyromania 30th anniversary cd, the live disc, Phil sounds like crap. I love the leads that Steve did on Pyromania and always wondered why he didn't get more.

This remixed version almost makes the song sound like it came off the pyromania album but that doesn't stop me from liking the song or the video in anyway.
I think that was their goal as I remember it being played a lot at the time all the Pyromania songs had videos made for them. Probably figured they would make it sound more modern.

You can't go wrong with Def Leppard balled's, I'm 41 and still loving these men, I've even gotten my 15yr old hooked on their music. I did get a chance to see these men in concert I was in the nose bleed section but I still got to go, I didn't get to meet them but like I said I still got to see them.
Steve was the best, he was the heart and soul of this band, Def Leppard died with him. Steve, I love him so much.

@@Omega1867 Vivian is very good replacement for Steve (in fact, he is a better guitar player than Steve and a great back vocalist). Steve is unique and I'm sorry for his death, but the band is great even without him.
TheDispather Exactly. Every player, no matter the instrument really, brings their own sound to the table. Steve was good but as you said, Vivian is too. He deserves recognition as well and to not be slighted because some people liked Steve better.
