    For me all this is a master piece. The cannon at 3:23, the violin playing and the piano answering 1 Second later, for me, it is incredible. I cannot stop Hearing it.

    What exquisite taste the performers have. Nowadays Schubert is often played as Brahms, filling music with false emotions. Here everything is extremely within the style.

      Lugansky called it 'the most difficult music ever written for the piano', and 'more difficult than all of Rachmaninov’s concertos put together'...

      On an contemporary piano ( Tafelklavier ) keys had less weight, easier to play than modern Yamaha or Steinway Grands

      Yeah, when I was practicing this, I found those leaps in the left hand part (should sound soft) in Allegretto are especially difficult.

    Performers are Szymon Goldberg and Radu Lupu? Why are Amandine Savary and Vineta Sareika listed too? Is this just TH-cam trying to usurp focus and get us to pay? Very confusing, TH-cam--no offence to poster, thank you for this spectacular peformance.

    Gracias a Schubert y a los intérpretes de esta maravilla. Las personas que opinan negativamente de todo son malas, manipuladoras y perversas... En el caso de la música no la entienden, es así de sencillo y además, no leen ni sobre el compositor, ni sobre su época ni se preguntan el por qué de la calidad de la grabación... tampoco conocen a los intérpretes. No se ponen en los zapatos de los demás... solo critican porque es lo más facil! Qué pena! Menos mal que La Música y el Arte estan por encima de los malos.

    The andantino is maybe inspired by Mozart K 331, first movement.

    The violin needs more fineness in intonation and sound quality... scrachy.

    • @kushgroover54
      @kushgroover54 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      You edited your comment and still couldn't fix the spelling of "scratchy" 😂 the violinist is Szymon Goldberg and that's just his tone which is better suited for the concert hall than the microphone.

    • @the-chipette
      @the-chipette 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@kushgroover54 haha this! Szymon is known for his more robust sound and I like his renditions as a violinist.

      @@kushgroover54He is right. The violin sounds rough edged, it doesn't suit Schubert, regardless of concert hall or recording.
      And it certainly doesn't suit Lupus wonderfully poetic playing.

    • @hoipolloicassidy1594
      @hoipolloicassidy1594 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's a famously "bad" piece. There are learned academic papers explaining exactly how "bad" it is. Me, I like to imagine the first and only performance in Schubert's lifetime, when the critics and others walked out halfway through. Too bad. Because the piece only makes sense in the last five minutes, at which point only the whole sense--harmonic and affective--becomes clear. Try listening to the end. Then listen again.

    • @captainhaddock6435

      I don't quite understand what's so bad about it. Do you have to be academically educated to get the badness? I find it quite pretty
