My brother mentioned this to me. In one of these Countdown appearances, the late Brad Robinson gave a funny look to the camera. As though he too could have thought that the vocals were hard to understand.
I love this band just as much as Fleetwood Mac. I dont think there is a week that goes by without listening to all Australian Crawls songs. I have never seen them in real life. 🙂❤
Pretty sure I've seen a music vid of this song that was filmed at the old Lakeside Oval at South Melbourne, which used to be an AFL ground until South relocated to Sydney after the 1981 season. They were running around in the old grandstand (which is still there ironically)
Beats me why we didn't hear about this lot in the UK at the time, much better than some of the electronic crap that was going down here at the time, maybe they were being a bit overshadowed by AC/DC. Reminds me of US band The Cars
For such an incredible band, it’s an oddity that it didn’t have a stream of #1 hits. There was Reckless, then everything else well behind it. Even the infatigable Boys Light Up didn’t chart spectacularly well (no. 22 only from memory). Despite this, the band had a string of top five albums that most could only dream about.
As this was lifted from Countdown, the Go-Go's clip was shown next, but due to the audio being remastered from CD, the video faded out before the audio should have as it segued into Our Lips Are Sealed.
@@aus80srockradio94 lol... I know. I have seen that episode of Countdown this year. Even when making the comment (6 years ago!!! :-O ) I was imagining Gavin Wood's voice introducing the next video with some line like ''and now the hottest babes from Los Angeless who can seal my lips anyday...''

I could understand the Beatles lyrics. Australian Crawls odd approach makes me want me want to dance or sing their stuff.
