Wow! Thank you for the shoutout, firstly. But for clarity (and apologies on my part because I know the titles of my videos are confusing!) I am currently only riding the Wizard Advanced frame on a size 40 carbon Seba CJ SX gutted with the Intuition Premium liner size 7-7.5. All “tricks” in the Ridder 909 are preformed on the 250mm THEM frame with Mushroom Blading 58mm wheels. Absolutely love your approach to skating. Let’s keep exploring and playing.
Haha oh man, I definitely got that mixed up- made for a great experiment though! I've primarily been using my Wizard Advanced on my Seba SX as well. Regardless though, you are very welcome, and thank you as well! It's been inspiring watching your Wizard style, and it's been helping me explore more and more ways to be creative.
I have a similar setup, thems boot, intu liners and nn dragon frames.. they are not the Heaviest, but heavy enough to have fun and stability but.. since i alsl like distance, definetly a great leg workout
Any advice on how to lace your skates, high or low cuff position and insoles recs for this setup? Love this setup and trying to perfect my them / wizards as well 🙌
I find that the low cuff position seems to give the best ratio of support/forward flex. I don't use any fancy lace techniques, but can see that being a good thing to try if you are having issues with heel lock. Waxed laces are a must though, as they can really get that shell to fit just right and avoid slop. I don't personally use insoles (other than the included heel pad with the intuitions), as I find the intuitions do really well at supporting the bottom of my feet. However, many people swear by Superfeet hockey insoles and find they work great in this setup as well.
Just recently switched to the low cuff and it definitely is helping things feel more secure! Do you use two separate waxed laces or one lace to connect both boot and liner and how tight would ya recommend? I’ve been trying different mods bit by bit to make things feel secure and it’s feeling better little by little other than maybe a little movement around my ankles. I got the them 909, grey them intuition liner and wizard pr76 frame with some brain dead wheels! Also trying the Superfeet hockey comfort insoles with it but also curious about the carbon pro and / or just the insole that comes with the intuition (or none at all). Absolutely love how you’re making these skates look and hope I can get it closer and closer to feeling secure 🙌🙌
Great review! Just what I was looking for:) I recently got a Them909 and put NR90 wizards on them, however I faced an issue where somehow the frame bolts of the 909 seems to be rubbing against the mounting slots causing the mounting slots to widen and deform. It might be because the 909 bolt receivers are free floating in the soul plate causing the frame bolts to shift around. Did u face such an issue?
You know, I hadn't used this particular setup nearly as long as I have my SEBA one, and so I'm unsure of what might be going on there. I didn't personally run into that issue with this combo, but perhaps there needs to be an additional washer or something to get it tightened on really well?
@@CamGoodTimes Thanks so much for the reply! May I ask if u remember if you used the frame bolts that came with the wizard advanced or if u used the 909 frame bolts? Maybe the 909 frame bolts are not suitable for the wizards..
Hey happy to hopefully be of help! I used the 909 bolts, and may have used the washers that I use for my wizard frames as well, but I don't quite remember.
Thank you for asking about that. I had forgotten to mention that the heel lift is minimal when using wax laces in this setup, but there still seems to be some when trying to do toe rolls, unfortunately. However, I have seen people modify this skate with a strap to help with lock the foot down further.
Interesting, I have the same size feet and small 909 with small Intuition V2 feel terrible. My feet are pretty thin though and don’t fill out the boot at all.
I can see that being a difficult fit. I have flat, regular width feet which really tends to work well with a wider fitting. That's a bummer they didn't work well for you though- any luck trying Roces or other narrower boots?
I find this video very irresponsible. After riding my FR1's with endless 100s for over a year (loving that), getting my seba and pr80s, won't ride anything else at this moment and then trying my FR1s with endless 100 - VERY unstable feeling and I believe with the 45 strap on the FR1s, those aren't very flexy. In fact the FR1's felt so dangerous to me that anything over 90 is not good. To ride frames like this, a hard boot is needed or you may break an ankle.
Thank you for your feedback on this. Having used my FR1s a couple years now with a 4x100 frame, I would say they have a similar level of side flex to my Them skates (and they still feel fine for me even after using SEBA SX), but it's good to recognize how everyone's experiences will be different and it may not be as safe for some even if it worked for me. I can imagine that the fit of both likely makes a difference in this, as I was able to downsize both boots (my FR1 and Them) with intuition V2 liners and they both feel fairly stable to me. Something to keep in mind with my Them setup here is it is pretty low to the ground with the 80mm wheels in the center, and so it worked quite well doing most tricks and didn't feel unsafe. My only issue was trying to do toe rolls- doable but not nearly as stable as with carbons.

By the way, what frames are you using on your Thems? I'm curious about your experiences so far.

@@robixbrown wow, that sounds like a perfect setup! I just use one set of wax laces and integrate them into the upper liner.
Great work!
Thank you!

💯 agree.
Even though I have CJ's I wanna try my 5x76 on 909's. Something about the look if it. Would be interesting to see how it felt.
I think the 5x76 would be especially smooth and enjoyable on the 909, and they would for sure look nice together.
Thanks for the great review, can you tell your v2 intuition size is it S or M ?
You're welcome! Thank you as well. I use the small size.

@@CamGoodTimes I use the UFR AP with the FR intuitions, after some mods I got them fitting great
How's the weight? Is it too heavy?
Not bad at all. A bit heavier than traditional frames, but very manageable
Do u have some skates for selling in us?
I sadly don't.
@CamGoodTimes U are welcome
👍👍
