  • This is part one of many in this series.
I will make a reply video to the tier list video later on as I improve my video editing, and speaking skills.
all footage was recorded on an emulator, so sometimes you might see the mouse cursor pop up occasionally

I’m working on doing a challenge video for this exact thing, sucks someone did beat me to the punch, although my rules make it WAY harder, so I’m still gonna commit to it.
If ur wondering how different my rules are: here they are:
    - must complete all 89 levels (rules won’t apply to level 1 since it’s impossible otherwise so that’s why it’s 89)
    - you can only spawn builders and transport ships (see later). Everything else isn’t allowed.
    - all buildings are buildable.
    - all non-builders (minus heroes) must be retired if the level starts with them
    - transport ships can only move to 1 specified location. Once reached they must be retired. They are not allowed to attack OR BE ATTACKED. Also as a bonus, I’ll do a minimalist run with them so we are forced to use them only when absolutely necessary, basically only going to be used if the level requires them.
    - “friendly” units (like the dwarfs in level 6) are fine to use so long as they aren’t controllable (will be a different color). If they become controllable then they follow the same rules regular units have
    - heroes are allowed, but they are not allowed to do basically anything except move and pick up key items, since some levels require them (such as level 4). This means they can’t deal damage, use spells, repair, heal units, destroy trees, or the biggest one of all, take damage. Trust me, that last one SUCKS (level 4 took an eternity to figure out bc of that stupid tower guarding the scroll). You are allowed to kill them via retiring a bridge or transport ship with them on it, however it’s usually better to just throw them into a place enemies won’t ever reach.
    - cheat codes and red bricks are banned since some of them would trivialize the run (fast building, regeneration and upgraded towers being the main ones).
    - glitches are allowed.
Haven’t completed it yet so I don’t know if it’s doable with this current rule set, but I really don’t want to make any more changes. Some levels I haven’t gotten to yet are frightening me (such as the pirate one requiring you to transport across an entire map filled with enemies. No idea how to do that damage less).

How is this even more hardcore than the challenge that I recently did for fun because the game is too easy? For context my challenge was no building ranged or mounted units, and no building specials (allowing a single transport ship to be built for levels that would otherwise be impossible). I focused mine on building instead of using in combat though, so I was still allowed to use any units that I started the level with as normal. I beat the whole challenge with two additional caveats. On the very first pirate level, I built one Barracuda instead of one transport ship because you have to build a Barracuda specifically to progress in that level, but not a transport ship. The Broadside level involving placing mines forces you to build a transport ship and two clippers, but I immediately retired the two clippers to be fair. I also place no restriction on build or using the hero. Although I suppose your ruleset has no restriction on the number of transport ships which would have made my challenge a lot easier because I was counting total number built, not number currently built meaning that if my one transport ship ever got destroyed, I had to restart the level. That caused a lot of headaches in both Brickbeard and Broadside's campaigns though it was doable. Similar to you, towers were obviously a necessity. Funnily enough in my challenge, Gemma's finale wasn't even in my top ten hardest levels, though it was probably the 11th hardest.
