Hello, thank you for replying to my previous post. I read this laptop's service manual and noticed that the outlet that needs to turn on the laptop's backlight is unplugged. I saw a keyboard on eBay that turns on its backlight. I intend to replace the keyboard on the laptop when I have an opportunity.

No - as with basically all modern laptops the CPU is soldered to the mainboard, so the only replace it is to replace the whole board.
Thermal paste I'd replace a few years into the life of the machine, but some people like to apply a high-quality paste from new.

There is a keyboard backlight connector on the mainboard, but you'd have to buy a complete palmrest assembly with keyboard and backlight to fit one as far as I'm aware.
I have the same laptop. I just read my user manual, and it said, I need 2400mhz RAM, not 3200mhz as you said in the video.
I will upgrade to a 2TB HDD and another 8 GB RAM in 3 days.
It is just confused me that you said 3200mhz because it is 2400mhz in my user manual.

The RAM will run at DDR4-2400 speeds, I just fitted a DDR4-3200 module as that will run at DDR4-2400 speeds without issue and is all I keep in stock.
If I add a 1TB HDD in this laptop will it be against the warranty policy? I don't want to breach the warranty though
This notebook corresponds to the dell inspiron amd ryzen 7 15 3505a? , I need to know how many ram slots it has (1 or 2) can it be increased to 32 gb? Should be the same - best bet if unsure would be to take the back off and check. I'd expect 2.5" SATA + M.2 NVMe slots, and a pair of DDR4-2666 DIMM slots.
What is the price of original battery of dell Inspiron 3505 ryzen 3 3250u?
Hi there, I've had one of these laptops for about 3 years and I'm getting an error message advising that my power adaptor is not recognised and it's not charging anymore.
I've removed the battery and it runs from the ac cable fine so does it just need a new battery?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Those messages come up due to being unable to identify the PSU - the wattage is measured by the resistance between the central pin and ground and if the value isn't as expected it'll run with reduced performance and not charge.
I suspect replacing the PSU will solve the issue, unless you've damaged the charging port on the laptop itself.
I cannot find a cooling strategy app for my 3505. Isn't it possible to change that? A least have a silent mode or something?
im using hwinfo for chaning the fan speed. ıts the only program that works.
BUT you can only choose %0, %50 i believe, and %100 just 3 options.
If I want to upgrade the storage from 256 Gb to 1 TB, do I need to remove the battery first?
I would always recommend unplugging it - it only takes a few seconds and saves accidentally frying the mainboard if you pull a RAM module with the board powered.

The motherboard supports a frequency of 2400MHz and the notebook comes with a factory RAM of 1X8GB 3200MHz, working at 2400MHz.
If I add another 2400MHz RAM, can dual channel be enabled? Will I have a problem because both RAMs are of different frequency, but they both working at 2400MHz?

I would always install a matching memory module, but a DDR4-2400 one should work. Dual channel MAY work, but I wouldn't guarantee it.

It needs to be at least 2666MHz really
will putting in new RAM also upgrade the usable ram in this laptop? since currently i have 8GB of RAM but it says only 5.89GB is usable. does that ever change if you upgrade the RAM?
That is because the rest is reserved for the integrated graphics.
The usable amount will increase with additional RAM.

That's a SATA type drive - not sure the laptop is compatible with them in the M.2 slot as the standard drive is NVMe.

Yes, either clone the contents of the old drive or clean install Windows.

There were no warranty seals on the one I had - so long as you are careful not to cause any damage and return the system to its original configuration before any warranty claim then you should be ok.
If in doubt though, always assume the warranty may be voided.

I'd take the Acer Aspire 7 - will have better processor and graphical performance and probably higher build quality as well.

Yes. a 2.5" 7mm thick drive should work fine.

No, you need to see your user manual. I have the same laptop, and I can upgrade to a maximum of 16GB 2400mhz ddr4 RAM.
Yea, I wound up installing another Dell 8gb for a total of 16gb. Everything works well.

Yes, if it has a 512GB M.2 type SSD then you can add a 2.5" SATA HDD.

I think you'd have to replace the whole palmrest/keyboard assembly for one with a backlight.

I'm not sure - I'd fit a 7mm thick drive.
What's the max ram I can upgrade to?
2 x 16GB modules should definitely work. 2 x 32GB might but would be pretty overkill.

The specs of this machine say that only 16GB of ram is supported at max. Yet, I do know it can take 1 16GB stick in a single slot to satisfy that max. I also know the the 16GB limitation does not come from the processor. So, I can find no reason it can't do 32GB of RAM at max. Might you know why the specs limit it to 16GB?

I believe this was a Ryzen 3 3250U in the exact machine I looked at here - it was a customer system so I don't have the exact specs to hand.

the battery is using as a cmos battery.
@@zaeekk yes it means when your main battery is drained fully, all your BIOS setup will be defaulted and you have to again set your system date and time.
