Jilly - thanks for watching and commenting!!! Using the crock pot was a "necessity" thing. I needed BBQ sauce but I didn't have the hour to let it simmer and then cool before putting it away before going to work. I have used the slow cooker before to blend flavors and for a slow reduction. (BTW - a roaster could also be used but it needs to be watched more.) IF you notice in the video, my homemade onion powder was slightly clumpy when I put it in the slow cooker. When it sat all day. It had time to penetrate the clumps and blend them in nicely to the sauce. During canning season, I sometimes do this with tomatoes to let them cook down over night to make a nice tomato sauce. You should try this sometime.
@@ourheritageworks I will have to try it, with the BBQ sauce, and tomatoes!! It seems like such an easy way to reduce them instead of keeping one eye on the stove top!
