  • Our favorite place is The Cheesecake Factory. Upon arriving in Raleigh back in 2019, we splurged on 5-6 pieces of cheesecake (at one time) because we just couldn't decide. We now stick to one or two pieces and spend 3-4 days savoring them at home.
Crabtree Mall built in 1972, renovated in the 1980s, updated through the 1990s, is the best shopping mall in Raleigh and Durham area. There are great stores like Apple, American Eagle, J Jill, and The Body Shop.
If you are looking for a space for your business, the management leasing office is great, welcoming small businesses (not just the chain stores) and they work with you to see you succeed.

I've never been a mall person and I'm so glad. But I enjoyed your video.

14:28 fancy fancy! I worked at Crabtree a few shifts in the mid to late 90's. I worked a second job at The Bombay Company(at Cary Town Center mall, now demolished to make way for a gaming company HQ), which sold very expensive looking "wood" furniture for decent prices, mirrors, prints, candle holders, and the like. They sent me there a few times when they didn't have coverage. It's nice to see that mall is still pretty busy and hasn't changed all that much like virtually everything else has. Shopped there sometimes too. Many of the stores are different, but not all. The first floor used to flood on occasion. I wonder if they ever did anything to shore up Crabtree Creek with levees or something.

This mall must be doing something right as they look busy and almost all spaces full. Best wishes CTVM

It's the best because it's the only one 😂. Triangle off Capital is basically closed and Cary Towne Center is closed. The next mall is Southpointe in Durham. North Hills used to be an actual mall but now it's a collection of restaurants with stores, a Target and a movie theater placed throughout.

Opened on August 8, 1972 as the second largest indoor mall in North Carolina. It opened with Hudson Belk, Miller and Rhodes, Thalhimers, Sears, and G.C. Murphy Company with more than 250 stores and services plus convenience center located on the plaza side that anchored Hardee’s, a Big Star/Colonial Stores grocery store, U.S. Post Office, Singer Fashions and a two screen movie theatre (that opened in February 1971) and more.

Hopefully, it will remain for some time to come. It's a nice place to walk.

For whatever reason indoor malls appear to be doing better in the south.
