    The fact that it has the M269 switch is such an awesome thing. This may be the next mic on my list. I mean you could get 4 and still spend less than the reissue.
    That EQP shootout sounds amazing.

    Sounds nice. I agree that the 67 type suits you voice best, at least compared to the other mics you’ve demoed for us. Thanks for that. I’m buying the BU67.

      @@SeawellStudios apparently! I was deep into the u87 comparisons you did and then rolled on to this. Seems like no contest imo. The issue is, for my home studio, that price point is slightly outside of being justifiable. The Serrano on the other hand…

    • @SeawellStudios
      @SeawellStudios  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@mrcarpentertoyou yeah for whatever reason the BeesNeez 87 just doesn't do it for my voice. I kind of feel the same way about a vintage 87 though so that means BeesNeez pretty much nailed it. I much prefer the Serrano on vocals, it has a slightly extended top and scooped mid that just works . BeesNeez 87 on instruments is where I love it though!

    your videos are awesome! would do you pick between this and the Stam 87T for rap & pop vocals?

    • @SeawellStudios
      @SeawellStudios  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you so much, I'm so glad you're enjoying the videos! That's a tough call. The 87T is doing a similar thing to a C800g which is of course THE Rap and Pop sound. Having said that, the 269 mode on the B67-269 could get you in that range too. The B67-269 would be the more versatile mic overall. I don't think you could go wrong with either!

  • @JimboJones99

    I'm looking at purchasing the mic. Looks very promising. How does this compare the bu47 sound

    • @SeawellStudios
      @SeawellStudios  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have not heard the BU47 yet. I have heard the Tribute 1 and it is a a wonderful 47 style mic so I'm sure the BU47 is as well! It's just a matter of whether a 67 or 47 is a better fit for the voice you're working with. I think if you're planning on using it on more instruments and a general workhorse mic then I'd usually go the 67 route there. Hopefully I can get ahold of a BU47 sometime soon and have some further input but I hope that's helpful for now!

      @JimboJones99 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SeawellStudios Thanks for your reply. It's for male rock/pop vocals and the occasional acoustic guitar. Not the best treated room. Probably looks like the BU67 is the way to go.

    I am curious because I watch your videos faithfully and the vocals in your gear demos are superb, what is your vocal microphone of choice? I know that different mics are used for different applications and vocalists, but which mic would you recommend? Also, how does this mic compare to a U87 Ai? Thanks.

    • @SeawellStudios
      @SeawellStudios  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks so much for your kind words! My main mic of choice, and what most of the examples on this channel have been tracked through is the Korby KAT mic. The 67 capsule in particular is my favorite vocal mic but the 251, C12 and 47 capsules also get used often depending on the vocalist.
      Regarding the BeesNeez vs U87ai, I prefer the B67-269. Particularly with the switches for different modes, it's very versatile and I prefer it as a vocal mic for sure. I hope that helps!

    Hey brother I need help! I’m torn between a bu87i c and Serrano s87. But the thing is I have found a bu87 for $499 and the Serrano I would have to save the extra $200 and buy it direct for $725. Should I pick up that Bu87i c or save for the Serrano ?

    • @SeawellStudios
      @SeawellStudios  ปีที่แล้ว

      For vocals I’d go with the Serrano. If it’s primarily for instrument tracking I’d go with the BU87. I hope that helps!

    I'm seriously considering getting both the Stam47 and the BeesNeez 67 after watching your reviews. I've noticed that the BN67 has 2 versions - the updated version seems to be better. But honestly would you say that the 67 alone is enough? Or does the 47 have a different-enough sound to justify keeping both? Say if I was to cover the Elvis or Sinatra would the 67 get the job done or would the 47 sound best in this instance? Main singing style is more like Axl Rose (both the lows and the highs)

    • @SeawellStudios
      @SeawellStudios  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I hope to have the BeesNeez MKII here soon! Normally I'd say for Sinatra or Elvis you'd definitely want the 47 clone but the BU67 had more low end than you normally get out of a 67 clone(which was a nice surprise!). They are definitely different enough to own both. Maybe it would be worth ordering both at the same time so you can truly shoot them out on your voice and then just return one? Keep me posted, I'd love to know what you end up going with!

      Occasionally I can't hold back the opinion haha. I have not used any of the Manley mics at all unfortunately. I've long had them on the list of mics I'm interested in but have just never come across them. I got a chance to check out the 67 and 269 modes on the BU67 and they are quite a bit different to me so it's really like 2 mics in 1. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful with the Manleys but if I get to use one I'll let you know!
